Thank you for starting us off on a new day and a new week Twins' Mom!!

I have a very busy week. A few DPCs, a few errands later in the week and a phone call with dh's regular doctor. Plus all the regular things that I do around here.

Last night dh said he wanted to help put the clean laundry away. The first week I lived with him brought an end to "putting away" laundry. Even though he had drawers in his bedroom, all the clean socks and underwear were in a laundry basket. There wasn't any space in his closet to hang anything. (His gun cabinet was in the closet.) He had a "rolling" rack at the end of the bed that was jammed full of stuff, so his clean pants and tops were in another laundry basket on the floor. (NOT folded) Because I am somewhat OCD about where things go in our closet, I declined his offer.

This morning I mopped all the floors. I also moved the cord from his computer to make it easier for him to get to his chair. Now it runs along the wall and under the chair so he won't trip over it.

lucylee, we were pleased that we spent a little time with a Medicare expert and got some good advice. They are not exactly salespeople, no pressure. As far as insurance, I think most folks consider it helpful these days to check out prices. If you are getting a discount for being with them a long time, of course, or a discount because you have more than one type of policy, you may already be getting a good deal. I'm glad we don't have any bills we pay in person anymore - employees and locations switch and drives and parking change. More of a chore as you move along, sorry to say.

Both HRH and I had difficult nights. He was freezing in the night, he says. I was burning up. He gave up at 4 and went to his computer. I stayed and had nightmares, ugh.

I have a DPC to make today.

Time to fill out the planner week. I suppose I need to transfer these bdays and special dates from last year's planner to this years'. Dd27's request yesterday made me think of this. Frankly, the new planner isn't as helpful as all my old ones have been, so I guess I haven't really adopted its extra pages yet. Almost to the end of Feb - better decide to get it done!

Or.. ... I could photocopy last year's and make into two card file additions to have forever. Much better idea.

Coming here to say good morning (great places with mountains?) reminded me that yesterday I mentioned the small exercise of trying to remember country names, so I practiced that some. I find that thinking alphabetically, within continents, helps. Maybe the Olympics prodded me some. Dsonil can do capitals so well - can't catch him on that (possibly because it's boring).

talking about husbands and laundry. when dh and I first married, I didn't know where he put his socks - he asked if there was clean laundry - I think his mom did his laundry - I didn't even know where he put it and I thought we would do laundry together. he had them in another part of the closet on the floor and not in the basket. I laughed so hard!
I did his laundry for awhile until he told me that I wasn't hanging up his shirts correctly (in the right direction and top three buttons buttoned). it annoyed him so much that he took over his own laundry.
he washed my hand washables and shrunk them to size 2T - that was the end of him doing my laundry

I realize mom time takes up many moments of my day. I need to make my card file work for me with our new normal.

Lucy L. I went to a class on Medicare at the hospital with LH before he
retired. Was glad I did for people like at schools they said the worst one was Adv an tage for our area
bc the big city was where they had to go to the Dr. me not going to drive 3 hrs. away for that!
It was great info. very informative they did not try to sell us on any one plan just told about pros and cons.
of diff. ones. After LH passed I waited a few months till my bday got $20 more a mo. figured it could not hurt.


I'm glad for the series I've been watching did not dream about past stuff;
slept a hard and dreamless sleep. I went to bed on time; up on time after it was lite out.
Yea! A bit stiff had to limber up from being in one position too long.

Today Mt. wash more needs to be climbed. I have one basket to do.
Might do sheets today but that could wait.
We have rain in today and tomorrow's forecast.

Dsis DD & Dgd are doing good.

OMM is to Swiffer floors today.
Got the trash out yesterday.

Echoing everyone's thoughts about talking to someone about Medicare. When dh retired last summer I basically let him handle it, but in Nov/Dec we had a consult at Jewish Federation as a service they provided. It's quite informative, there's so much to know about it.

Dh was home last night, we both just fixed what we wanted for our suppers. He was supposed to have a 6 p.m. Zoom meeting today but it was cancelled. (I'll only say that someone finally called the temple president out for his unilateral decision making. So I suggested that we go out to eat tonight, just us.

Today dh is bowling and has his cardiologist follow up appointment, and I have my 2 p.m. workout.

Excellent exercise! This reminded me that when my 96 year old grandfather had trouble falling asleep he would say the names of the 77 counties in our state AND the county seats for each. I had forgotten about him doing that so THANK YOU for the reminder of doing geography mental exercises.

I'm on hour #4 of my day and all is going well. DD14 has been delivered to school with a pleasant chatty drive. DS17 has been launched to his new job.

Making a note for future reference. DS17 got pulled over for the 7th time since he has been driving (18 months). Once again he didn't receive a ticket. DS17, GF16 and a friend were in McD parking lot with other friends. I'm sure they were being a little foolish.....something about playing with a stretchable banana they had bought from 5 & below. ANYway, after catching the attention of the local police, DS17 did a rolling stop pulling out of a parking lot onto the street. The police turned on flashing lights and pulled him over. The police was firm but friendly and told them to have fun but be safe and sent them on their way.

I get my hearing aids today and am excited about that.

Need to make several phone calls as well. It cold here again. I took Coco for a walk at 6 this morning and it was cold especially because of the wind. Morning temps tomorrow morning will be in the 30s. My brother in New Jersey has 24 inches of snow, but he does have power.

Lucylee… most all of my teacher friends switched over to Medicare once they became eligible. It’s much cheaper for them than to keep their health insurance through their retirement fund so you might want to go talk to an agent. That’s what I did. I talked to an agent that helped me decide what I wanted to do with my health insurance and I went with Medicare.

I have made several long phone calls, but everything seems to be lining up. Next up to make lunch for sweetie.

Good morning!

We've been having some talk about Medicare around here, too. Friday before last, DH went to a meeting they were having after school for people who were coming up on eligibility. My worst fears were put to rest -- DH can stay on his employer's family plan; he doesn't have to go on to Medicare as soon as he is eligible. I had visions of having to try to find coverage for myself that was half as good until I would become eligible for Medicare myself.

Yesterday was spent relaxing. We watched the USA/Canada men's gold medal game until we had to go to church (basically at the end of regulation time). When I went to put my phone on do not disturb, I saw that DD had sent a message that the US won. Once we were home, we watched the replay of the overtime and also watched the replay of the men's curling gold medal match -- DH said his brother in the UK and his brother in Canada were messaging in the family chat about how good it was. I spent a chunk of time after that working on a puzzle online, then after dinner, we all watched Starfleet Academy. DC wanted to watch Zootopia 2, which they had watched online with friends, but it wasn't available yet, leaving them to wonder how their friend accessed it. Started to work on redoing my master list and realized there were a couple of things on there I should just do rather than putting on a new list. I still need to put sheets on the daybed; I couldn't bring myself to go upstairs and get the sheets. When we get the shelves for the room that we're planning to, I intend to get a basket or something to keep a set of sheets in the room.

Took DC to school, and that's about it thus far. I wanted to leave early -- we've had snow. (Nothing like they've had on the East Coast, though.) It turned out the roads were pretty clear, though our side street was pretty icy. I guess the city hasn't gotten around to salting the side streets yet -- or maybe they're rationing salt.

Sorry you had nightmares, Harriet. Like you, I have a DPC to make today. And your mention of your hair made me think to pay attention at girls' night to the hair of the woman who'd had the same sort of treatments as you -- it's back to its previous just-past-the-shoulder length. So hang in there!

I guess I am lucky that DH can put away the clothing -- his and mine, mostly, though there are a few things of mine he's not sure where to put; likewise there are a few things that I leave to him. Where his sweatshirts go, I have no idea. I do the washing, though. I'm picky about it.

OK, so what's next? Washing? Making the DPC (or at least making a script for the DPC)? Oh! Look at the time! Lunch! (I promise I'll do those other things after.)
