Thank you for starting us off today CostumeLady!!

I planned on being busy today. We both had a rough night. I was wide awake before 6 a.m. We had a snow storm last night, but school buses are going up and down our road. I think we got around 2 inches, which isn't much. Dh is on the couch/sofa watching mindless TV, not news. He's also falling asleep.

I don't know if I will go to Wal Mart. Costco can also be put off for another day. I do have to go to the bank and make a couple of phone calls. Not dreaded ones thankfully. Dh needs to get his toenails trimmed and I need to call to make the appointment and we need 2000 gallons of water delivered, so that's the other phone call.

I managed to cull more than 12 inches of shelf space, and I honestly don't know where 1 of the books came from.

Plants need to be watered as well.

Harriet I have never heard of boxwood basil. That is cool, we love basil.

LadyM I am surprised your 17 year old son had an exit interview. I think his answers however were great he sounds a lot like my youngest. Answers honestly and literally and has a good sense of right and wrong. Also the hypocondriac tendencies. I swear he thinkd he or the cat or the dog have some horrible issue all of the time.

My middle son is very good at language and communication, he met with HR in our school system to in a sense whistle blow on the school he worked in, a brand new teacher as a longterm sub for the year. His school has major issues primarily due to the principal, he managed to alert them to the problems without throwing anyone under the bus. He was a psychology major before switching to elementary Ed.

Lucylee I too dont work until 12 so often laze around in bed, like now, reading news, doing Bible study, messaging etc. I should be up and going to the Y. I have the best home exercise studio up in attic and I rarely use it. I bought the Infinity hoop in January and finally opened it yesterday and tried it for about 15 or 20 minutes. I was healing from a shoulder injury and I got out of the habit of exercise.I need an exercise buddy.

Cathy feverblisters are the worse. Stress or impending illness will bring them on. I use Abrevia and that helps. Just got over one. I used to take a suppressant drug that stopped working, my doctor told me to stop suppressing and ride them out. I ended up with 10, on every point on my lips. I couldn't eat. I could only use Vaseline. Took the 10 days to go through the stages. But I didnt get another for 4 years. It had to boost my immune system. I take Lysine daily now that really helps. The one I just had was a baby one in the.middle just inside botton lip so I didnt end up with a scabby lip. I used abrevia. My body was trying not to catch the cold.my husband had.

We have a smart house. It was a dream of my husband when we built our dream house. Most people when their kids.move out downsize, we went bigger. I had always wanted a modern modular construction house, built just like a stick built but all.done in components in a factory. My house has never been in rain while under construction. My planned house wouldn't fit on the.lot we bought so I took one of their plans and customized it. I had wanted a ranch over a basement but not enough green space so we had to go to 2 story. It came on 3 Large flat bed trucks and was assembled like legos. All done in 1 day. Kids left on bus, crane brought in, trucks arrived, house assembled, trucks and crane left. They put shingles on next day and stone front on that week. It was installed over our poured basement. We had garage constructed later. The attic was unfinished. So we started with a small 3 bedroom (Master suite, 2 small bedrooms 1 is.my office and 1 is guest now) 2 bath house with an open concept kitchen, living dining area. I had attic finished while hubby was deployed in Africa we finished basement during pandemic. Now we have a 6 bedroom 4 bath house we were empty nesters for 9 months out of last 10 years. Older 2 launched for a while until pandemic. During pandemic all 3 boys moved home for 1.5 years. Youngest 2 stayed to finish college and are still here. On the smart front, he wanted solar panels which we got and a voice controlled house. For his first Christmas in New house I got him 2 Alexas and 1 lutron switch. We now have 8 Alexas and every room aside from guest bath and stairwell are controlled by motion or voice. We literally talk to our house all of the time. He has routines set up to remind us of things and we have different settings for the lights. The only thing still to do is install the sauna. Our exercise studio we used daily until youngest took over attic. Now it feels awkward. The middle one is in my sewing room in basement as his bedroom, it has a utility sink but an external door and a closet. We have to go through to get to workshop under garage. The bonus room over garage could be a 6th bedroom but is used for storage right now of $30k of oldest's Lego collection and all the apartment boxes and ds27's room is at opposite end.. Lego room was supposed to be my yoga reiki zen space, it is painted purple with my Turkish rug which is rolled up and put away. I just pulled up a table in guest room to create a sewing space. I have several projects.

I finished one project last night. I have made orange stoles for.my priest and deacon to wear first Sunday of month for gun awareness. I did the priest's last month and finished the deacon's last night. Will take it during evening prayer tonight. Dh has Vestry tonight. I have been at church Saturday for quiet day during Lent, Sunday, Tuesday for bells, tonight is Lenten evening prayer, have a meeting tomorrow. Busy busy busy. Dh was there the same but he had finance meeting last night instead of bells and Vestry instead of prayer. If you can't tell we are very busy with our parish. I have a key. Dh also helps with boyscouts. He was treasurer for years and assemble scout master but youngest got his Eagle 10 years ago. He stepped down but the treasurer lasted a month and he was still on at bank so has been filling in for a year. Yeah right. He doesn't go to meetings anymore.

On taxes, we always do our own with Turbo Tax. We need to set a date to do it DH and his spectrum OCD has created spread sheets and logs all of our documents and scans into an online folder. He manages our investments, has spreadsheets for that. I pay the bills and manage that. We do taxes together. Never get a refund always have to pay so it is often April before we bother.

I got to call the vet about my dog, something is wrong with his leg. Middle son looked up symptoms and he thinks it is degenerative disc. I gave him a trazadone we use for anxiety to calm him down.

2 other sewing projects sew up graduation robes zippers that need repair, have about 20 robes. Also have material.enough to make one more stole for our tiny priest who will be taking the sabbatical. If she wore Matt's it would drag the floor. I also have material to recover rocking chairs cushions and dining chairs and make 2 couch pillows.

Right now I have a bath tub full of white table cloths that I need to drain and wash for church before we need them. They were just sad looking so I soaked in oxyclean water overnight. I think I have about 20. I can wash 5 at a time so about 4 loads. Want to take them by tomorrow before they need them. I am tempted to do that with the acolyte vestments. So sad and grungy.

I leave to teach in 3 hours. Also need to pick a date next week for our Parish Life planning, we are in charge of Easter brunch and want to plan dinners of 8.

This weekend we head to Chicago for 2 nights and theater.

Cathy, sorry about the poor sleep but maybe you'll get a chance at a catnap. Be safe if you do go out. I don't mind WMart so much except those concrete floors and long walks across the store, especially if what's needed is at opposite corners, ugh. Maybe your books are multiplying!

Costumelady, for exercise buddies, have you checked out Health and Fitness forum? I realized you had moved into a larger home because of chatting with you in September in The Decluttered Home about our mutual too-tight-with-furniture office spaces. I think you had a much better plan for getting some elbow room than I did! Hoping your puppy feels better.

LadyM, one way to look at chocolate ( smile ) is that dd14 might have eaten a candy or sweet of some kind through the day anyway, so if it came along with the fresh foods of the day that chose, that makes little difference. If it encourages her to eat them, that's positive.

A method for minimizing all this math I'm doing on the quilt top came to me in the night. I realize I can measure a lot fewer times and get the insertion I want. It's hard to construct from the middle out when the "out" parts are already done, lol. Think I've got it now.

Today I want to continue focus cleaning in the kitchen

Thanks, all, for the understanding/commiseration re kids and insurance hoops. We talked to two very helpful ladies at Healthcare.gov and our state Medicaid office. The woman at the state office did some checking, and it seems our county office never got her verification paperwork. She has an appointment with her endocrinologist in a week and a half; I suppose we're going to have to eat that cost. Certainly not going to make her skip/reschedule; it's hard enough to get in in the first place.

Good to hear an update from Rose. Glad you were able to get some much needed time with your friend. Hoping Sweetie has a better day today.

We had snow overnight here, Cathy, but not so much, and ours is supposed to melt quickly. 2000 gallons?! I'm guessing you have neither city water nor well water?

Neat to hear about your house, Costumelady. I am at the very opposite end of the spectrum -- my house is 100 years old. Nothing smart here.

Thanks for starting us Costumelady and bringing us up to date. My ddog Millie also takes Trazadone for anxiety - primarily fireworks and vet visits, although she's still a little hellion on vet visits. You are certainly staying busy with a variety of activities!

I ended up going back to bed and I slept for around 2 hours, maybe a bit more. The temperature is now PLUS 7 and most of the snow has melted so I'm going to go to the bank. I don't know where I will end up after that.

Costume Lady - I love reading about your smart home and how it came about. Brain dumps are welcome and appreciated here!

One of the things that I love to do is be creative in the kitchen. I love preparing meals that bring joy to myself and others. I have been tweaking our favorite breakfast and altering just a smidgen almost everyday. Because I prepare it so often I go through the process quickly to cook using single ingredients (eggs, canadian bacon, onion, pepper, potatoes, bacon, tortilla wraps). Eventually we will grow tired of this breakfast and I'll switch to preparing something else. But for now, it is so yummy that there is no appeal to switch.

DH wasn't his normal self this morning and I quickly & quietly got around so I could take him to er if needed. After monitoring him for a bit I don't see anything that could be accomplished by taking him to ER. He dressed himself by putting street clothes over the top of his PJ's and putting boots on that he hasn't worn in years. He is physically stable and emotionally happy so I'm just going to call it good and continue monitoring him to keep him safe.
