Fed Germane
Cleaned up after dog
Prepared a pot of coffee
Washed a few basinsful of dishes
Called new ISP. Got TV service cancelled.
Put away dry dishes
Called old ISP. Arranged date to cancel the entire service.
Looked for roasting pan: could not find it.
Found lasagna pan: used that
Prepped vegetables
Cut off end of pork roast
Put the rest in the oven
Put the cut off part in small slow cooker, chopped up a carrot and put in a lot of water for it to cook overnight for Germane

Re: Gerard Manley Hopkins Monday
Last post of the day. It's almost 10. We finished our call with ds about 15 minutes ago; F didn't join this time so we didn't get to see baby I.
That bowl sounds really yummy, L Ann.
trissie, I listened to Le Deserteur. I understood enough French to know that I wanted to know what the song was about, so I looked up the lyrics in English. Very interesting! Then, I had to look up which war France was participating in at the time of its writing.
Of course you articulated the sentiment so well, Doggedly! Yes - when I clean, I can't tune out the dirty places that I was ignoring before. Sounds like you're getting your digital services sorted out.
I looked up that title, kitkat, and the book sounds very. . . . real and human. I think I'd like to read it.
I did not get to laundry today or extra payroll tasks. I DID get 2 exams ready for review, went for a 2 mile jog, got groceries, hosted MZ for dinner, and had a zoom call with dh and ds.
Next:
- finish updating health apps
- go to bed
Later Possibilities -- like tomorrow!
- lol 1 w d f pa
- payroll: can I get google workspaces set up?
- payroll: start prep for AR D6
- Kroger order
- update health apps - wip

- reading time
TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- up a lot

- email deletions + weather website - we may get by without much rain in Austin, TX on Friday; the storms may hold out until the evening. Saturday still looks pretty dubious. . .
- s2s and self care

- made the bed
- payroll: communications - I have to miss CA meeting on Thursday but CM and AC are very gracious
- gas inspector has come and gone; I never moved the bags
- lunch
- after lunch clean up
- some qt
- payroll: LBBR Exam Draft ready for review
- payroll: AIR Exam draft ready for review
- payroll: update time sheet
- groc. list for WF
- back exercises
- dress to jog; gather stuff
- jogged 2 miles at park - along river! Highlights: many people walking, jogging, and biking; tons of Canadian geese and ducks everywhere; yearling? trumpeter swans standing by the path; a new species of duck on the river - black and white and diving (not loons. . . )
- WF
- put groceries away
- made dinner: shrimp in tomato sauce and cream pasta, roasted zucchini circles w/ seasoning and parmesan, GF focaccia, berries
- hosted dinner with MZ
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- updated health app

This is my last post for the night. Germane and I have supped on pork, and everything (except the slow cooker) is safely in the fridge. Good night!

I don't experiment much - my default is a wheat/rye sourdough everyday loaf with caraway seeds and crunchy crust.

I do, however, "cheat" by swapping about 10% of the flour for whole-wheat. Nobody can tell and the nutritious value is better this way

Glad you like it, helia! Boris Vian is a life-long beloved author of mine, first read Froth on the Daydream in HS, and then everything else. Back then, before internet, I wasn't able to get his music, but I rectified it later on. We actually did Le Deserteur in French lessons in school, and I can still sing most of it from memoryhelia wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 10:12 pm
