I somehow completely missed the French song discussion yesterday! I am no help unless it was a song I listened to in French class. Even then, I doubt I'd remember.

WTG walking a mile already, L Ann. That sounds like a fun outing for DD33.
A massage sounds wonderful and so deserved, trissie. Have a good day WFH.
We're supposed to get up to 8.9C today, kitkat! I think our snow is all gone now. Perhaps walking instead of going to the gym today would be good for your sore muscles?
Enjoy the sunshine Kitty! --Oh, I see it's not actually sunny. Well, enjoy the non-rainy weather. :) I'm glad to hear things are settling with dh's retirement. Last night, Fable was moderately well-behaved. She still jumps on me, which is poor behavior for her. We tried to play fetch in the back yard with a ball. She would chase the ball and then come running right back to me -- without the ball. And then jump on me. :x Despite her breed's name and history, she's not a very good retriever.

It is foggy here right now, but the sun is supposed to burn it off in a couple hours. It should be a warm-ish (relatively speaking - up to 48F!) day. I have NOTHING on my calendar but A LOT to do. We leave town tomorrow after my class; I should be packed and ready to go tomorrow morning before I go to payroll.

Main Goals for Today:
- Exercise: a jog -- maybe try the arb hill?
- Payroll Exam Prep: Finish last 2 exams; send all of them out for review
- Kroger - quick stop by or do an order
- laundry: 2 loads clothes; 1 load towels??
- writing time
- If I can get to it, clean sheets on the bed
- start packing
- maybe refill bird feeder - today or tomorrow (needs to be done before we leave)
- early dinner with dh: vinegar and olive chicken (from freezer), rice, green salad

Next:
- some qt
- back exercises
- dress to jog

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a tad lower
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

☀️Good morning, kittykatt, trissie, kitkat, LAnn, helia!

Oh my, kittykatt! My mind hadn’t even gone to a pregnant female cat! I certainly hope not. People don’t need pets if they won’t take care of them.
I walked by the window last night and thought I saw something moving, thinking it was a different cat (dh has seen a black and white one that I haven’t spotted yet in addition to a large fluffy gray one that I’ve seen several times) I turned on the porch light and there was a possum sitting eating the cat food. I’m definitely limiting feed today and supervising while Lola eats. The rest need to go home pronto.

I’m up physically but not mentally yet. Gonna enjoy a slow morning and ease into routines.

are you going with DD, L.Ann?
kitkat, do schedule that massage! My back is rather sore today, but all the parts that are supposed to be moving are moving and not making any sounds, so I consider that an improvement :-)
Bama, are possums considered pest? They are not native to Europe, so I wouldn't know.

Oh, Bama, I saw a possum in one of mother's apple trees once. It was SOO ugly! Not at all cute like when portrayed in children's story books. Did it run away when you appeared?
kittykatt, Thanks for Wordsworth. I remember him from 9th grade English class. Our teacher had us discuss the meaning of "The child is the father of the man." He is a well respected poet.
trissie, having plenty of work to do at payroll is job security!
helia, we are cloudy, fog warning out, but I can see across the street well, and just barely above 32F/ 0 C. I will get dressed warmly since there is no sun, and start my day with a walk.
I am down 6 pounds from my trip to Florida, but not anywhere near what I want/ should be. at least 15 pounds to go. Lent is helping/ I am fasting on Wednesdays, until soup supper at church. I'll drink plenty of water today. last week, I just didn't manage Wednesday, so I did Thursday. Walking a mile most days helps too. It also is a time for meditative focus.
kitkat, I envy you a good massage. Finding a good person to do it can be a challenge.
TADA so far
I'm out of bed, haha
taken my anticholesterol med, and calcium supplements
heated water to drink

[Me, looking at leaves growing out of a broadband box: "Huh! Free flowers, and I didn't have to do anything for them." Goes on my merry way...] This is how we know that I am not a gardener at heart, LOL, Kittykatt.

Hi, trissie. We completely understand about being too busy with house and dkids to drop in. Any time that you have time, you are welcome. Did your DH have an explanation for why he hadn't gotten the dkids to do their homework?

What a beautiful day, kitkat. We are supposed to get up to 3C here today, and sun at the same time. Spring is on the way, says every Canadian who forgets that we have to get through False Spring, Third Winter, Spring Of Deception, Winter Of Despair, Zombie Dog Poop Spring, Spring Of Faint Hope, Victoria Day, and then finally Actual Spring We Very Probably Maybe Won't Freeze Your Bedding Plants If You Plant Them Now Spring.

That sounds like a fun outing for your DD, L.Ann. :)

Have a good time in the garden, Kittykatt.

Okey, I am at the end of Page 1, CUOP in my PJs with my morning coffee, so time to get something done. I have wet paper towels soaking Germane's artwork that she did on the tiles at the entrance because the ten pee pads laid on the floor were not to her liking. Goal # 2 is to call the bank because I tested my debit card's PIN# at the pet food store last night, and I have definitely forgotten it. I have used it for years, too. Very confusing.

I've only spotted a possum once, a few years ago. My understanding is that they are useful as they consume insects as well as mice...

Hope DD enjoys Cinderella, LAnn
Dogged enjoy the sunshine - it IS encouraging, you must admit.
Gma Hutch must be quite a job. I will ask dkids for a good massage therapist. So many painful parts...
trissie with a good massage you ARE sore the next day but it's worth it:)
Bama
you have quite the wildlife there...
helia enjoy the good weather - any jog planned?
Kittykatt 12 C is a heatwave by our standards  - in fact my gym instructor was reminding us that as the temp. is expected to rise over 10C this weekend - to get our Tshirts and shorts ready

OK.
DD dropped by/ brought us coffee - I made us breakfast. :D Nice to live close by.

I'm ready for the walk.

Dogged, he was trying to catch up on his own work after a week off and he tends to forget about the rest of the world when he is working. Guess the kids are lucky he didn't forget to make them lunch!   He's a good man and an involved father, but like me, he tends to take on extra payroll responsibilities and then pushes to meet unreasonable deadlines (I don't. That's why some of my non-essential tasks are still open even when the deadline was back in 2023. But, they are not essential and they will get done... eventually!)
L.Ann, I think the musicals done by highschools are such a lovely community tradition... even if they are not always done perfectly! I played in The Music Man when I was in USA, and since I still remember one line, I googled that I was Ethel Toffelmier, the girlfriend of Harold Hill's sideckick Marcellus Washburn. I think I might still have the dress in the box of costumes somewhere :-)
Welcome in the land of those awake, gma! :-)
kitkat, I go to a Thai massage place and before Christmas, I encountered this brutal lady and I was like "I am either NEVER going to her again OR I am ALWAYS going to her!" but then forgot her name so I am out of luck (there's about 5 of them there and generally I just click to "whoever is available" since I tend to only schedule last minute).

I really need to start thinking about dinner! And get DBD going on her homework. Yeah, I got caught in my work too :-)

Wow! 41 guests!

I saw a possum walk across our yard in January during one of those severe cold spells. I wondered if it was sick; I couldn't imagine why it would be out walking in the snow in the middle of such a cold day.

About 3 times in the last week, I've seen 3 deer lying down in our yard or our neighbor's yard, just chilling. I think it's a mom and her 2 yearlings - but not sure. They have come by from time to time over the year, but they don't usually lie down.

I've never had a professional massage, trissie, but after doing PT, I think it could be a very healthy thing for one's muscles.
So nice your DD dropped by with breakfast, kitkat! Yes, a jog is next for me. I'm going to check out the arb hill. I don't go there in the winter bc it is gravel/ dirt and uncleared by the city during the winter. It becomes an icy mess and a bit dangerous with a decent slope in spots. It should be clear now! I probably won't jog the entire hill; I'm getting my running strength back.
I hope you get the debit card PIN# sorted easily, Doggedly.
WTG on losing 6 pounds, Gma. I find losing weight so hard. Food is just so pleasant! :D At least most of it is. Ideally, I'd like to lose 15 pounds, but 10 would be good. Two pounds lower would put me outside the technical "overweight" category. I have leftover ToDos from yesterday too.

Main Goals for Today:
- Exercise: a jog -- maybe try the arb hill?
- Payroll Exam Prep: Finish 1 exam; send all of them out for review - only my own is left
- Kroger - quick stop by or do an order
- laundry: 2 loads clothes; 1 load towels?? wip: Lights washed and drying
- writing time
- If I can get to it, clean sheets on the bed
- start packing
- maybe refill bird feeder - today or tomorrow (needs to be done before we leave)
- early dinner with dh: vinegar and olive chicken (from freezer), rice, green salad

Next:
- gather stuff
- jog
- Kroger

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a tad lower
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- some qt
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- kitchen tidy
- payroll: reviewed and sent out LBBR and AIR exams for review
- payroll: put together AIL Exam and sent it out for review
- payroll: got my own AR Exam set up; I'm going to do some major changes. Too many of one sort of question.
- lunch
- after lunch clean up
- duolingo
- lights: washed and drying
