Fabulous Friday Conga Line Fun PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

It's Fabulous Friday and that means it's time for our Conga line through all through the village! The musicians are tuning up and the line will form soon. Just jump in anywhere as the line snakes all around the house and out into the village for errands and visits, drop out of line when you take breaks.

Enjoy the fun!

Good morning

Twins - thank you for opening our village this morning.

I didn't have the best night sleep with teens & storm, plus dreaming about plans for the pepper plants! However, I did manage to get 6 hours of good sleep. I woke up feeling ready to get started on the day.

DS17 had a friend stay the night sleeping on the couch. They are both up and gone work this morning.

DD14 need blood work done today so we will be making a trip to the city for that as soon as she gets around.

Hi!

All clean dishes are away, so the dishwasher and dish rack are empty, so I can deal with whatever gets dirty in a more timely manner than I've been dealing with lately. Island is also clean and clear.

There is an important curling game at 12 noon, so I want to watch that. PSW comes at 11.

I think that the dishes were dealt with because I did those adult responsibilities earlier this week, so the mental logjam was clear. Now the kitchen logjam is also clear. I was reminded how nice it was to just reach into a drawer or cupboard and actually find what "tools" I needed to work in the kitchen. Creating meals makes me happy. Honestly I had been so unhappy with "stuff" that I felt like I couldn't truly function at the level I loved.

Dh wants to go get meat tomorrow morning, so today's "job" will be wiping the shelves in the fridge. The way I do it is to clear the top shelf, wipe it and return what belongs on that shelf. Work my way down to the crisper drawers. I know one thing... the carrots I cooked for supper last night sure as heck weren't crisp. They were sad carrots. (Picture long skinny carrots with pouty faces)

It's cold and overcast here today, but there seems to be no wind! I have 5 or 6 bags of stuff to burn. I will have to wear boots because I'm sure the grass is soaking wet and spongy.

Mornin' everyone,
I listened to a sermon and did two rounds on my growing crochet project that's triangle shaped.
Trying to get my head to clear out.
Sunny out here today its lovely 37* / 52* F is our temp range.

Lucy L. my roofer said 25 yrs. I'd not thought about what you said 15 yrs.
and ack if I have to have it done again normal aging makes me wonder...
any way save some aside it a good thing! Thanks for that idea.

I hear a raven crowing in the trees.
Have not done any writing yet today.

Glad for the progress I made yesterday.
I'm trying to just think of the next thing not all the things in the next season
so I do not feel over whelmed.

Post and run for me....I've walked and fed ddog and am heading out for a pedicure in a couple of minutes. This afternoon probably watching, listening to, some webinars, and dh suggested we got out to eat this evening. I'm not sure that will happen because he has a friend over this afternoon for bourbon. it's possible he'll drink more than is consistent with dinner out.

DS17 is home after reporting for work. It is a rain day = no work day again.
He called me on the phone from his room and asked if I wanted to come visit and talk to him. That felt a bit weird because I don't remember it happening before. But it also felt nice to be asked to spend time with him. I went and sat on his "new" couch and we talked for 30 minutes or so. Mostly he talked and I listened. it isn't an instant break when a child moves to adulthood....there are small shifts repeated over time. This felt like another small shift in that direction.

I'm waiting on DD14 to get ready to leave. She is in weekend mode and moving at the speed of a snail. DD14 calm, deliberate and low energy vibe is 180-degree opposite of DS17.

Went to class this morning and Sweetie was up before I left. He took his shower and did his personal care and was correctly dressed by the time I got home.

I fixed both of our breakfast and then realized I could see something in the window over my front door. Sweetie had already seen it. We both went outside and discovered that a dove has made her nest above the ledge of our front door. We also have a window above our front door so I was able to see her head bobbing around. We watched as the daddy Dove brought her twigs to build her nest. This will be fun to watch. I know it’ll get messy at some point, but I don’t care. I love watching nature.

I have a few things I need to do to straighten up the house. Then I’m going to take sweetie to the shop to have his computer worked on.i did some reorganizing in my bathroom that I’ve been putting off and it only took 10 minutes. That’s motivated me to work on my office because right now it’s looks like it’s torn apart and my son is going to come over and reconnect the computer. It would be nice if you could move around in there.

Lucy Lee, I meant to mention that the homes here that have metal roofs do have them cleaned occasionally. I don’t know how long they go before they need to be clean because these roofs have only been around for the last two years. However, I do know there is some kind of maintenance for it. You might want to inquire about that if you go ahead and decide to do metal roofs.

Off to start my day… I’ll see y’all later bye.

Thanks, Twins — I had wondered about that.

Another man is up on the roof now.
When he leaves, I have risked ds to get his truck out of the shop,
Then meet dmom at Wmart and help her pick out a new tv
Then pick up my groceries at Wmart
Tonight Dgd will probably spend the night * after the Daddy-Daughter dance.
Tomorrow is another day.

And I'm back.... My feet aren't quite as scary now. I took the opportunity to conga through Michaels and found a couple of fun things there too. Then conga to post office, later topped off gas in my car (oil prices are going up, you know) and washed it because pollen season has started. (Embarrassed myself, apparently my car was still in drive when it was supposed to be in neutral. She had to stop the line and have me back up. She was not pleased.)

I just received the "AIR" additional info request for my DAR application submitted two years ago, I'm heading upstairs to work on the answer to that...
