Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
Did you set your clocks forward last night? Let's spring into the day and get moving. Yes, we lost an hour somehow but today should be filled with day light hours that will supercharge our energy!
Today, and the fall back day in the fall, are always disorienting when it's not the time your body feels it should be. Give yourself a little extra grace in settling in to the week, things feel off for a couple of days and we'll be trying to sleep "early" tonight.

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
I don't think I even posted yesterday. I got consumed with the DAR response and spent the day on that. Later dh and I sat on the porch for a drink, then went to a nearby restaurant to walk in. Nice quiet day and evening. Restaurant was busy with wait list for tables but we found two seats at the bar and enjoyed our evening.
DH is busy today. He's bowling this a.m. and this afternoon going to a friend's for bourbon tasting. Unfortunately, I agreed to take him there and pick him up, and it's on the mountain and he's not staying that long. So I have two trips up there, feels like almost back to back.
Dog is confused that no one has walked her yet. I'm getting into the shower next.
I set the alarm to get up today, I hate the time change when I have to be up earlier and things feel off and I feel like I don't get enough sleep. So I'm trying to be proactive getting myself up so I'll reset my sense of time.

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
Mornin' gals I set my clocks in the a.m. had em done by 5:55 except for my watch and bedroom ones.
I have done some of my journaling and got mp mostly done.
Still need to log activities yesterday.
Robins are loud today!
Could be another writing day.
Soup from a can for meals one I've been looking forward to.
One task I put on Mon. trying to get small bits of progress.
Did take out items from the fridge that needed to go in the can.
For my QT I have verses to put in m y bujo; copying them gives me peace of mind.
Celebrate with joy it the topic for today.
These help a lot in light of current world events and change my focus away from things
I normally would stress over. I like having a cross I wear to touch and helps me feel grounded.

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
Good morning, everyone
I guess I don't feel quite as ready for the day as usual. The light outside seems inaccurate, lol.
And like Nancy says, there is that balance to be kept between the grounding and centering of oneself, yet awareness and alertness to world concerns. Days like this one, with a calendar event to remember, make us even more aware of both.
I'm grateful that I did go to bed early enough last night to feel as though any "unreadiness" is not because of lack of sleep. HRH, on the other hand, scared me to pieces opening the bedroom door last night after I'd been asleep about an hour! I must have been dreaming. Anyway, pulled my fingernails out of the ceiling (smile) and got back to sleep rather quickly. He was less chipper this a.m!
It is not lost on me that the morning service will start when it will start, whether I've gotten myself ready very well or not. Better get busy.
We often have some of the children pop by on Sunday afternoons but haven't heard from anyone. Pretty sure it wouldn't be dd27 since she was here last weekend. It's not conducive to outdoor activities out there for them, because of wet weather (an odd storm last night even surprised with lightning.)
Smiling at Nancy's "could be another writing day".
Here it "could be another sewing day".

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
Good morning
I had a surprise this morning when i took the weekly curlers out of my hair. It is like my hair quadrupled in volume. There is just so much hair to manage. Yesterday I cut about 5" off my hair which made it shorter but still below my shoulders. Now that the weight of the hair is less, it wants to spread out. This is the 3rd week I've used the homemade flaxseed gel on my hair and have learned the soft curls will stay for days. I have no illusions that I am anything other than a70 year old female with well-earned wrinkles, but my hair looks good!
DH was up during the night so his sleep was segmented which put him sleeping past time to attend church. We will attend evening service later.

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
Well hello!
Up took a slow time to do both our morning routines
My son stopped by yesterday and set up my computer.
LadyM… I just cut off two inches off my hair and it’s still below my shoulders. I set and slept in rollers too. How do you make and use your flaxseed gel. I have flaxseed in my pantry.
Lovey left her nest around noon yesterday and was back before we came home from going out to dinner. That was abt 6.
When I got up this morning Lovey was still in her nest. I can sort of see her in the window. Love it

good morning! I agree about the light outside! my brain is trying to adjust!
hello d rose - cheering you as you work. so happy your d son stopped by
I haven't felt grounded and centered for a while. Reading this was an A Ha moment for me - I couldn't figure out what the problem was and how to fix it. I am usually self aware but I have been feeling out of balance in all aspects of life. mmm lots to think about.
hello d harriet - glad you got sleep! oh my goodness - you both got scared. I imagine you up on the ceiling (almost like a tom and jerry cartoon moment) -
glad you went back to sleep. j
hope you have a sewing day!
hi d Nancy - yay on changing your clocks

hi d twins thank you for starting us!!! how nice to sit on the porch again with each other! lovely!
hope your dh has a good day! cheering you on as you are productive through your day.

Re: Spring Forward Sunday PWYC
The recipe I am using is 1/4 cup of flaxseeds to 1 cup of water. Put it on stove and simmer until foam appears (stirring constantly). Then remove from heat and let it cool. As it cools, the mixture become gel like. Some strain it to get the seeds out before it gets thick.
I didn't have flaxseeds on hand, but I did have some ground flaxseeds that were way out of date. I used them to learn the process and it still seem to work well. It is recommended to be kept in refrigerator between uses. They suggest only using it for a couple weeks and then making fresh batch. I used mine for 3 weeks and it still didn't have any smell or feel off, but I went ahead and dumped what I had not used. Next time I will make a smaller batch because I didn't use even half of what it made....or maybe I will freeze small portions? Hum....more experimenting with flaxseed gel is in my future. .
I've been transplanting the new pepper plants into bigger pots so they have plenty of room for the roots to grow. We are still 5 weeks away from our average last frost date so I am not ready to plant them in raised beds yet.
DD49 sent me 2 baggies containing zinnia seeds in moist potting soil. Ack! I've never had good success with transplanting zinnas so don't want to bother trying that again. It is too early for the zinnas seeds to sprout because they need more heat than we have. But just leaving 100's of Zinna seeds in moist potting soil will most likely results in them rotting. With limited options, I decided to plant them in the raised beds and hope for the best.
I love spending time in the fresh air and sunshine. The garden gives me something to do while I'm enjoying being outdoors.
