Two of the 4 appts are completed.

I cooked a big breakfast, which according to the time we finally ate should be called lunch. :)

Last load of laundry in the dryer.

spaghetti is being cooked to add to the ready-to-eat buffet tub in the refrigerator.

well done d lady! 2 appointments down!!!
yay on laundry

d harriet - the all or nothing thinking is how I used to be when young -- I realized I thought I "should" be able to do it all - perfectionist thinking - was not healthy for me.
my youngest has that proclivity. She cleaned the grout in bathroom when the rest of the house is a tip. I was like that! now I no longer feel the need for fake perfectionism.
so happy you worked out the quilt block! fun!
enjoy your lunch!

hi d Nancy
what type of bread do you make? do you have a recipe?
yay on dishes and other work!
what garden zone are you in

hi d twins a nap sounds lovely
enjoy your workout this afternoon.
dinner sounds lovely
yay on good energy

hello d everyone.

made dinner for tonight. it needs to cool down
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Harriet - yes it is those kind of eggs, you could use some stencils, drawing the lines is the hardest but it doesn't take much wax. I used rubber bands to help guide my lines to subdivide the egg. I am doing this with young teens and I am going to create some stencil they can color inside or trace for different shapes. I am shakey too but I just steadies my wrist on table edge and my stylis is nice it has this bend in it that lets you hold it like a pencil. My husband went with, I should have invited my middle son or in fact both. My middle son is an art teacher, he would have loved it but the woman running it used to run the diocese youth programs when I was a director 20 years ago and she gave me 10 to use with my students - I had the wax and I will pick up some easter egg dye and some candles. She gave us designs and had books to look at. I wish I could show you a picture of my egg but I don't know how to do that on here.

Nancy I take a product called Brain Health which is tumeric and black pepper based and I love it. Also do you happen to take a statin drug, like for cholesterol? Many people, including me especially, reacted to the statin and it made me have early onset dementia symptoms so bad I retire. A friend told me this and I researched it and then decided to try a 5 week time off the drug because my numbers were good. Within 3 to 4 days my brain came back. I forgot words all of the time, forgot many things, everyone was noticing and I was noticing. My doctor said if you can remember you don't remember you are fine and that really annoyed me. I am fine now but I take my brain health drops

On top of my smileys, I have flipped in second load, made the lamb burgers- got 6 out of a pound, this is the perfect size for my appetite, had todays in a tortila with lettuce and mint jelly. I also got some of those thin wafers, it came 5 to a big pack and I made a 4 wafer/3 layer cookie with low sugar nutella on outer layers and no sugar raspberry jam in the middle. They are quite yummy. I will take to our meeting tonight. My husband is plant based which is basically vegan with honey and he will use bone broth for the protein because it doesn't have cholesterol. He does eat meat a few times a year, I would wage 5 percent he will eat meat and like 15% he will use dairy, usually at other people's houses or on vacation. He drinks a 60 g protein shake for breakfast, takes leftovers for lunch and we have some plant based meal every night - last night was this great vegetable soup from Costco with bread. Boys are on dinner duty tonight. I eat meat on my own when I want it, and I have been craving lamb. I had a bagel and vegan cream cheese and pepper jelly with grapefruit juice for breaky and this little lamb tortilla for lunch. I also ate several of the wafer cookies, I love that texture. Mail is sorted now to set up payments via bank to go out with paydays this Friday. Only bill I am missing is the gas bill, it will probably be here tomorrow. I have all of our utilities that come out usually on same paycheck each month. I pay our credit card bill off each month but split it into 2 or 3 payments depending on where pay fridays fall. We use it for points towards things.

Eye exam is at 2:30, I really hope she doesn't dialate me, I will bring my sunglass topper just in case but that may mean I have to put my top up to stop the glare of the sun. That would be very sad.

Mystery Woman when I had my first son, I had this cute little 2 seater sport car with removeable roof panels and getting the car seat in was terrible so I had to sell it and get a stationwagon. I later had a sedan until I had 2 kids and then I became van mom - I have had 2 vans, my last van I really miss it was a Town and Country Chrysler with stow and go seats. It was like a truck - we left seats down once kids grew up and used it hauling things. I drove it until it died. Got this little tiny chevy spark for 5K with a rebuilt title and she got 35 miles per gallon but going from huge to tiny was an adjustment but I drive 2 miles to work and would fill up once every 2 to 3 weeks in her 10 gallon tank. I decided when I retired I needed a fun car again so got this convertible. I wanted an electric car but they don't make Electric convertibles except as a Tesla in the US and I will not buy one of those plus I can't afford them. So got this adoreable silver with black top Ford Mustang, I have added purple highlights inside and out and she is adoreable. Her name is Aurora and I smile everytime I drive her. Hubby kind of likes to drive her too. She gets terrible gas mileage but she is not for long drives though I may drive her to see my son. I will just give him the keys so he and his partner can check it out. They are 6'2" and 6'4 and big guys. She has 2 doors and the backseat is not designed for adult people. My middle son tried sitting in back, he is a skinny 5'11 and he had to sit with his legs in other seat. Might fit two kids that can buckle themselves in, but I don't have any little people in my life at the moment. But It is great for hauling things, I take the top down and drop it in back seat.

I had wanted to go to Dollar tree before eye appointment but I ran out of time. Time to go flip laundry again before I leave. I tidied the kitchen from my cooking escapades.

I am still tired. I don't have jet lag this long when I travel out of the country and the time is several house different. Australia took about 4 days but we mostly just went to bed when it got dark instead of staying up to our normal time.

Costume Lady thanks for that info.
Mine is not a very big dose.

Harriet
I've been living to learn about writing non fiction just for the learning aspect of it.
I was tickled to find work books to fill in later for character development dialogue and one plot I'll be looking forward
in my next order maybe for my fall "classes" ;)
I put tbr book list on my journey 2026 thread.
------
Made a perfect round loaf. One loaf
3 c. flour
1 c. liquid I use scant 1/4 c. of cream and the rest water.
1 pk. yeast
1 tea. - 1T. sugar
1 T. olive oil
salt ten shakes

bake 350* 20 min. in glass loaf pan. Round ones take 5 min. more.

[I baked it in a round wire metal basket with sub way 6" wrapper instead of parchment paper.]

Some times I add stuff to it to change it up; like herb, pepperoni, cheese like the
bakery used to.

I've been known to toss in an egg and add adtl. 1/4 c. flour.

Maybe some day I can do that braided one with egg in it I've seen some of you talked
about / can you say baking envy!
I think I found that recipe on the yeast container.
So for in a Dutch oven the above recipe would need to be doubled or tripled have not done that yet.

Home from DS17 visit with family doctor. He got a shot, couple of prescriptions called into pharmacy, did a culture of the cyst and recommended surgery to remove the area around the pilonidal cyst. The surgeon will make the final decision. I don't know how long the time from referral to surgeon and the actual appt will be.

Time to get DD14 from school. *POOF*

Home from workout again. DD had called while I was inside (I leave my phone in the car) so I called her back and talked to her all the way home, which was nice.

I think I have DAR forms and records ready to submit. I'm scanning now (double sided takes awhile) and then I'll ask registrar if she wants a second look before I put them in the envelope. They go to post office in the a.m.

I still need to walk the dog, but I'm trying to put it off...works best if it's a little later for her. Going to head back upstairs for a bit.

Yes, I am glad to know that recipe, too. I hesitate to start HRH thinking I'd like fresh bread loaves baking very often, though, because I might never get the little kitchen back. We trip over each other as it is. In general, he is the acknowledged bread person, and I do ask his opinion even on things like my cakes, my pie crusts, etc.

Braided - I had a very good experience, personally, with my one foray into braided bread baking and yes, the recipe was like that, and you brushed with egg to get the glossy look, too. My disappointment was that I worked kinda hard on it, and no one appreciated it but me. It wasn't requested again although I hinted. I think this is a constant for me - no incentive to try again if I am the only one who likes something. ANYway, if I can do it, ya'll can do it - I'm no expert at all. Braiding was fun and turned out pretty. With experience, I'm sure it wouldn't have been hard.

I've been fighting a painful shoulder since the middle of the night. May have to take something. Not the best day for that, when hoping to be at the sewing machine. New thread seems just right. I'm thinking to return the wrong one, even though it may seem like it's not worth the trouble to travel to a pickup site to return an $8 item - principle of the thing, or, more likely, looking at it will make me feel bad that it is unused. and it's too niche to be a very good donation.
