Happening in the Kitchen 2026, Musings and Cookery

Post by Harriet »

Sorry, everyone - just a little village housekeeping I've been trying to figure out how to do. I've separated Kathryn's original welcome topic and re-locked it. No idea how it became unlocked at some point. I'll take this explanation, below, and squeeze it into Lauralind's first post. Excuse me!
So much goes on in our kitchens!
Chat here about menu planning, grocery shopping,
pantry organization, freezer meals,
product/appliance recommendations,
about dazzling the family with great meals...
... and getting them to actually sit down for them!
The above quote is from Kathryn In Canada in 2008 in her welcome to this whole SHE's in the Kitchen forum as the first topic, above.

Somehow, that introductory, locked topic became unlocked recently. We got some posts there because it began to accept them.

So here they are, hopefully merged successfully into this topic, new for 2026, with a title that incorporates several of our popular ones that have held many pages of enjoyable chat about what goes on in our kitchens!

TBD - I will remember that if anyone in my family asks what's for dinner.
hi d Nancy!

yesterday our lovely helper taught dd older how to make collard greens and fried chicken - it was delicious but the dog ended up eating half the oil from the pan - I am surprised that she is not dead. geesh. she ended up eating mom's salad.
mom didn't care for dinner so I ordered her a small pizza.

tonight: I will make mom her cabbage, roast potatoes, I will cook her one brat.
I will eat lean
it is always a joy to be here with you!
