Can you believe we're half-way through March? And March 31 will end the first quarter of the year? What's on your radar as far as planning, finishing projects, resolutions unkept so far, and the rest of the year?

I've giving a little time to planning, reflection and assessment today.

Good morning

Springtime weather is a fact here. Yesterday it was in the high 80's......tonight we have a hard freeze with temperatures in the 20's....by the weekend we will be bumping 100F. Toss a few tornadoes and 60mph wind gusts into the temperature extremes and you have typical Oklahoma springtime weather. We are not known for having boring spring weather.

The hip pad is my companion today. I can tell my mental status by how much I need to use the hip pad.
Brain fog = hip pad to the rescue to capture OMM
Overwhelmed = hip pad to the rescue to record what is happening and what needs to be happening soon
I have a digital device with me at all times that has a stylus to write on screen, but sometimes I just need to revert to the old fashion pen and paper.

I'm tempted to do the golden oldie SHE board 45 work 15 rest hourly way of posting. hum....

LadyM, I love 45 and 15s, especially TopOfTheHour and BOTH, but do find it a little more difficult to do on weekends. Twins' has, at times, been the queen of it for sure.

Gee, it was nice ya'll remembered that pie recipe. There did used to be more continuity for households, when "everybody" was standing beside the same magazines at checkouts, and also the same products were coming on the scene for many at similar times. I would not trade the variety of paths of interest we can all have now, but there was an encouragement in knowing "everybody" must recommend this recipe, if there was a COUPON in the Family Circle, lol.

LadyM, I do the 45 on, 15 off routine often when I'm having trouble getting moving. I highly recommend it, even for things like research and writing. Or if I'm extra hard-to-start, 25 and 5 for a couple of rounds.

Dfriend M down the street emailed that their Ruby passed away last night. So very sad for them and a few tears here.

This has obviously been sitting here for awhile....I'm heading upstairs for awhile...

Harriet, we loved that recipe back in the day! Now, probably too sweet for my taste. Good memories of it.

Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!

Yes, I DID drag myself out to Walmart. They had kitty litter! Now I have 2 of the 8 bags that were on the shelf. They are still in the truck. It's windy out again today. Walmart update... it was quiet and very few children and none of them were yelling or crying like their hearts were broken. There was only one thing dh wanted that I couldn't find. Shaving cream.

As soon as I got home I had a sandwich for lunch.

DH and I went on a mini adventure to answer the question....Where do you end up if you leave our home and alternate turning left/right/left/right/etc at each intersection until you come to a highway? The answer is 4 left turns and 4 right turns will take you to Cottonwood Corner on Hwy 17. On the way back we stopped at food truck in small community. I had heard they serve pasture raised organic meat from a well-known small farm about 50 miles away. I was thrilled with the results.
After we arrived home, I saw an emergency message about the strong wind made a electric pole fall on the road that we had just traveled.
There are 2 fires so far today - there is almost no stopping the fires in this high wind. The only thing they can do it evacuate ahead of the fire path. They use tractors & heavy equipment to make fire breaks, but the high wind carries the sparks past the plowed ground. Helicopter & planes dumping water by air isn't possible due to high winds. I'm mentally reviewing where our go-bags are and the tub of important papers that are kept ready to grab and go.

The ready-to-eat buffet style tub of food in the refrigerator is full again. Five kinds of meat, pasta dishes and potatoes are available. I have no plan to cook anything else today. Although.....I will be processing the abundance of asparagus. The garden is exceeding expectations. I will harvest asparagus for 2 months (until May) and have plenty to last the entire year.

And now we have lost power. I am thankful to have whole house generator that automatically kicks on.

I've picked up the back yard & righted the lawn chairs that blew over in the winds a day or two ago.
Sun is out so that's helpful, frost has melted.
Chicken soup for one meal, tky. San. & I'll be making up a pumpkin custard after the pumpkin thaws
just took keep it interesting.
My leg is better yea!
I have walked a bit more to do later on.

Good afternoon! It's quiet here right now. DH and DD are on their way to the state hockey championships; they should almost be there by now. And DC is up in their room; last I was upstairs, I heard them chatting away with someone online. As you can guess by the fact that DH and DD went back down today, DH's school's team won their playoff yesterday. It went into overtime. Today is the state final, against a team they went 1-1 with this season. I imagine it'll be a nail-biter. I'll be able to go to the school's website and hear their student audio broadcast; they can't show any video because the state athletic association has an exclusive contract with one of the cable companies.

I haven't done much today; I should get to something -- as Twins' start reminds us, time's a-wasting!

Oh, Twins, so sad to hear about Ruby. I remember you mentioning her(?) on many walks.

Pork roast is in the oven with carrots (2 small ones) and onions. Cabbage is boiling on the stove. Dh has requested gravy. I need to throw in some potatoes soon. It smells so good in here.

Other than what is being used to cook, all pots are done and so are all the sharp knives. I have some large utensils in the sink. Dishwasher has a few things in it.

Laundry was all done and put away a full day earlier than I used to do it. I LOVE having Sunday off from laundry.

All of the things I bought earlier today are away.
