I've got a lot of things to get done today. I finished that Ken Follett book just after 2 a.m. It was such a good book.

It's raining here. The bronze medal game is on for Women's Curling World. Sweden vs. Japan this morning and Canada is playing Switzerland at 5 p.m. for the gold/silver.

I am washing blankets and bed sheets today. I also have to load and run the dishwasher.

My cross stitch needs more backstitching.

Home made scalloped potatoes to go with ham for supper.

Last on the list but next thing up is 3 litter boxes. I've already dealt with bathroom garbage. I also need to do the kitchen garbage.

Sleeping in… That’s a great title cause that’s exactly what I did today. Got up naturally at eight and started my day

Routines and footprints done watered my outside plants.

The weather is perfect and I may sit outside later and read, but first Sweetie and I are going for a walk.

Slept in till 7:00.
Morning music some quiet to process the stuff from the last week.
Journaling time happened.
Reset is needed for me to regroup too.

Woke up with an idea of how to do that.
I need to freeze up some of the meat I cooked for meals ahead I'll flash freeze em for easy retrieval
out of the freezer later.

Sunny this morning / clouds coming in later on.
Fighting off a few stiff and achy muscles, and a bit of a cold so glad I can have space to recoup this morning here.

Last evening I finished a knitting project; and got the ends woven in as I watched a biography type movie.
So happy considering my next knitting adventure!

Dishwasher is doing it's thing. Large pot is soaking in the sink.

I'm watching curling by myself. Dh is sleeping. I can't wash the bedsheets until he gets up.

Crocheted blanket is back on dh's chair.

Cathy since you started the topic, you can go to it and edit it yourself. I wierdly love to watch curling, I don't really understand all of the rules but it is actually one of my favorite Olympic events to watch. I am not a sports person at all.

Brain dump story because I don't know how to tell reader's digest version LOL.

Well I am going to start referring to my sons this way - Oldest Son - OSN, Middle son - MS, Youngest son YS. MS has decided to make an appointment with a psychiatrist which I think is a good idea - his mood swing have been rampant lately. When he pairs his autistic fixation with a manic session - the man is unstoppable and brilliant but wow when you go the other way and it is rough. He usually lives in mania (I do too), I do not sink into depression like he does. It is hard to get him out. He made a discovery he forgot, they accidentally paid him for 2 months both sub pay and teacher pay and had to take out like $375 a pay for 8 pays which really cut his check but they had overpaid him. Not his fault at all. When he opened his W2 from last year which was 5 months of subbing (4 days a week) but he was the Music teacher for an entire semester, and then 2 months of full time teaching and during the 3 months of student teacher he did make a little bit of money but not much - he subbed about 1 day week. His overall income for a year was 13K - that really is ridiculous. They got this amazing teacher for 1/4 of his teacher pay as a full time teacher who acted, planned and taught as a master teacher. That was just so defeating to him. This year will be better and should be close to full time teacher pay of 57k even if he stays as a long term sub. He then discovered 2 side hustle jobs editing AI at 20 an hour and training AI in math for 40 an hour which he can do on his own time and all through the summer which he plans to save toward his down payment. That turned his mood around alot. He really just jumped the gun a little on the housing front but we do not want to lose that land so grabbing it. I found this little 100k fixer upper house that I think could be a perfect little starter home for him and one he can afford on his salary but I can't even get him to go look with me. He has his heart set on this other home that he wants to build on that property.

He keeps throwing it back to us that both dh and I had houses younger than he did. I tried to explain that mine was first owned by my grandmother and I paid her rent and had roommates and a second apartment in basement we rented out. I did inherit it when I was like 24 which did give me a huge leg up. DH went in the army for 3 years and used his earnings to buy a little house with 3 bedrooms that he had 2 roommates to pay the bills. We both had little 3 bedroom 1 bath homes with living and kitchens. When we married when dh was 28 and I was 29, we combined 2 households. We tried to sell DH for over 2 year, had a lot of issues with a rent to own person do so much damage and then bolt - we spent 2 spring breaks sleeping on the floor and repainting the house. Finally sold it - Dh lived across the country from me but moved to where I was as I had OS from my first marriage. My first house, the week after we married, the bed burned up (literally) in a waterbed fire when we were draining it out the window and left for work and there was a heating element I forgot about, that ignited what I put in the box to hold mattress in back to drain. So we were displaced for 6 months - insurance gave us a furnished short term lease apartment after a week of hotel living that allowed our cats. We lost everything inside house of our personal property mostly from severe smoke damage and had to start from scratch but we have always seen that is a huge blessing. We had good insurance - replacement cost insurance. First thing we bought was a new computer and a dictaphone. I recorded everything we owned along with how old it was and typed into a spreadsheet for my spreadsheet king. They gave you an amount based on age - and then when it was replaced they paid the difference. We had combined 2 household so we only replaced the oldest item of duplicates. Ended up with a 50 year old shell with a brand new insides, new clothes, new furniture, new toys etc. I was able to save pictures as I had shown them to someone and instead of putting back in bedroom in the cedar chest that was ashes, I put them on a bottom shelf in living room at opposite end of house so they smelled smokey but they survived. You learned very quickly that material items don't matter. So when we sold it 2 years later we doubled its value. The only thing harmed was our fish, the cats survived and we survived and it was an adventure at the new "partment" as our son called it. He was 3, my OS. I am on my 4th house, the second one I built (2 and 4) 1 got rebuilt for me and 3 we remodeled extensively by ourselves before selling. MS wants what we have for his first house and it coming to terms with that can't happen.

also I think it is harder for young people to buy a home - I know our area it is almost impossible unless the families help. They also compare themselves to others - it's hard to see when you see others (that you think) are able to do more. they don't understand that everyone doesn't have perfect world.

Pot has been washed. Washing machine is also done for the day. I am currently cleaning litter box number 3. (I spray it with a cleaning solution for cat boxes that takes away the smell of cat pee and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.)

I watched the bronze game. Sweden won. There is all kinds of info on curling on goo gle. I also learned by just watching it and listening to the 4 commentators. They are all previous players on the Canadian broadcasts. At the beginning of each game they go over the rules very quickly. like the "5 rock rule" (stones in the front, AKA guards, cannot be touched until the 6th stone has been played. Each team has a certain amount of time to discuss what they will do in each end. I think it's 39 minutes for 10 ends. They also have 60 seconds time out per game. (They only get one time out per game.) They must play at least 8 ends of a ten end game before the losing team can concede defeat. That's about it for the rules. The thing I had difficulty with was the terms used, because curling has a lot of different terms for every part of the game. The rink markings also have names that you would have to go online to read up on to understand what the commentators are actually talking about. Hog line has nothing to do with livestock.

This is the final day of spring break. It has been a welcome change to not have all the daily alarms needed to keep us on track. I will turn the alarms back on this evening. Then we have the final push with 7 more weeks of school before we will be out for summer break.

We have been out of the house a couple times today. I'm not cooking today so brought home several lbs of our favorite BBQ meats and sandwiches for everyone.
