Monday of a New Week PWYC

The dishwasher has been emptied. The dish rack is empty. I cleaned the inside of the fridge. Dh wants hot dogs (with buns) and beans for supper. I took the buns out of the freezer.

Waiting for pharmacy to text when 3 meds are ready for pick up.
Waiting for return of tractor and all the parts.
Dh is sleeping on the couch.

I have almost nothing left to do other than sweeping and mopping the floors. I don't want to do that until Wednesday morning before a friend of dh's comes over. That way it will smell "fresh".

I've eaten omelet and talked to the yard guy. Next is the rest of kitchen clean up, some was done as I made omelet. I may leave my brunch fruit for later, need to leave about 20 minutes.

I made myself a hot tea. Swept the back hall, mopped the back hall, swept and mopped the bathroom and spot mopped the living room. Dh asked if I was bored. Yes.
Came in here to sit and the hot tea is the perfect temperature!

Tractor guy called and said they should be here in around 30-45 minutes. "Come and pay when you can."

Pharmacy just texted that all 3 meds are ready to be picked up.

Hi everyone. I know it has been a long time since I posted. I try to keep up, but sadly I can't seem to get into that routine again.

I miss having my own home (and husband) to take care of. My routine has very little requirements. Aside from preparing my own breakfast and lunch I do empty the dishwasher whenever those dishes need put away. I try to broom sweep the downstairs once in a while if someone else hasn't done it; they are all hardwood down here. The upstairs bedrooms are all carpet. And I do keep my own room clean and dusted. That's it for chores. It doesn't really keep me busy enough. Oh, I do my own laundry also. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so I can take a walk a couple of times a week.

We have a neighbor two houses away and across the street from us who has just a few ladies over every Friday morning at 11 a.m. She taught us to play Mahjongg, there are six of us now, but one is a teacher so is able to come mostly in the summertime, and one other lady travels often to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren, so she comes only when she is home. The only other thing I have committed to is a zoom bible study class on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. This is the class I got involved in when I visited my dsis in Florida in 2022. The IRL meetings are in her church every Friday morning and the zoom class is attached to this location. Anyway these meetings start in Aug or Sept and go until April of the next year. We have only three more classes this session till next fall.

I spent a lot of time last summer crocheting a blanket for my second gr-granddaughter who was born last December. I'm looking into embroidery at the moment. I have lots of thread to use up and a few ideas to get started on.

I think of everyone here often and try to look in once in a while; I just don't have my laptop on very often anymore. I did see that Harriet saw me the last time I was here!

I went and paid for the tractor switchover. Pick up and delivery was just over $100. Switchover was just over $100. With taxes and a part (not sure what it was) total was $260. That's the best deal we've gotten since we bought the machine in 2015! Dh used to do the switovers... THAT was the BEST deal, but now it is what it is.

PSW has come and gone as well. I also went and got soda and a small bottle of green relish for the hot dogs.

I have reconciled (sort of) the checkbook and statement. STILL off $464.65. Exactly the same as last month. It fluctuates but it stays within a $450 range and has for over a year now. Always the bank saying I have $450-$460 more than I can show in my checkbook register. After tax season, I may ask my accountant to take it and see if he can figure out what is going on.

Trying to call doctor for rx renewal. I have never heard of a doctor's office that was so hard to reach by phone. It just rings and rings. Usually it's busy. Sometimes the answering machine will pick up and tell you they are closed, but they shouldn't be closed this early on Monday afternoon. He must have taken a long Easter holiday. SMH.

Home from my workout and whatever energy I had earlier is gone gone and gone. At least I'm not cooking tonight - crockpot stew smells great. I did get to Michaels and walked through, got the floral wire i needed and a couple of other impulse things. Maybe tomorrow I'll work on the wreath? And I need to get the two ferns from last week into pots - they seem to do so much better when moved out of the hanging basket. And I got the new pillow forms into two of the porch pillows. Need to do the other two. Turns out the 18 x 18 pillows were three to a package, not two.

So good to see Sunny! Big waves, we miss you and Harmony!

I'm going to try to take care of those pillows and I think that the extent of my ambition. Dh has a Zoom meeting at six, I'll try to get upstairs for a bit then.

LucyLee how far is it to drive to your doctor's office? We are less than 10 minutes away and I usually drive over and make the appointment in person.. I've known it to be much more than 10 minutes on hold. One time I kept my phone on hold while I drove over and walked in to the office. I was still on hold as I made my appointment in person. Then I hung up my phone. A few of the women were just standing there talking. (gossiping)

We have had supper.

Sunny, it is a joy to see you here with us. Congratulations on a new great-granddaughter and the embroidery ideas forming! Good to hear that you have a small group in your neighborhood who enjoy playing games. They are lucky to have you! And that you got involved with the zoom study when you visited our dear Harmony. I also have a weekly study but right now it is in flux and they are changing times, so I'm waiting to hear when that day and time settle.

I'm trying not to overuse my eyes tonight. Have sewn only a little bit. HRH is disappointed in the time tomorrow, which has us arriving at 9:25. He doesn't like being that late in the morning (interestingly) for several reasons. He wanted me to be one of the first not one of the last, which sounds like what it will be. I won't be going home but will travel to another location just as distant to have an immediate follow-up appt. So, by the time we get home we'll be whipped.

Did not stop into the plant nursery when we had the chance. HRH said why take responsibility for plants right now when it would just worry me if i couldn't give them much time. Better to let the pros keep nurturing them for a while. Have watched some at-home starting/seedling videos and enjoyed criticizing their methods and telling the screen how to do it better. One person was starting hand-gathered marigold seeds and I told him one of those groups of seeds weren't marigold. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Sure enough, on the screen later an explanation.

DgsW, who has partial color blindness, says plant a lot of yellow this year, lol. We'll do it.
