Good morning

I wonder what it would be like to have a day with no social interaction. As long as we have teens in and out of our home several times a day, I probably won't know. I do love being with friends and family but there is a side of me that thinks I could happily live the life of a hermit without any problems. I've received 6 phone calls this morning....which makes me recall what life was like before cell phones.

The bright neon shirt arrived today as a test for DH. He is okay with wearing bright colors so I will be ordering more. I like having him easy for others to see as a little bit of safety for him.

We had a storm come through around midnight that brought a wall of wind. It toppled several big trees in town. Thankfully all the trees in our yard are still standing this morning.

I think the strangest bird nest I've seen is of the Kildeer. We had a kildeer lay its eggs in the road a couple years ago. I put out bright colored stakes around it trying to keep it from being ran over.

Conversation with DS17 when he delivered the groceries I had order.

DS17 : I thought you said there was a couple hundred dollars of groceries to be picked up.
Me: This is what $230 of groceries looks like.
DS17: You have GOT to be kidding.
Me: Nope. I keep telling you that you are in the sweet part of life. You get to do some adult things without having the adult responsibilities. Wait until you move out and start buying your own groceries!

I've just put the last blanket from the bedroom into the washing machine. The sheets are already back on the bed and the first blanket should be dry very soon.

Pasta is cooking and the meat sauce is simmering on the stove. My house smells like garlic and fresh laundry.

Most of the dishes are done other than a tray, 2 cutting bords and tongs (from yesterday) everything has been pre-rinsed. I just need to actually get those cutting boards washed in hot water and soap. Dh tends to get peanut butter and jam drips and juice from his nightly orange on the boards. I think he must think they are self-cleaning.

It's raining here and it's nice enough to have windows open.

We're getting ready for the evening's festivities. i wouldn't mind skipping it, but I know dh wants to go. Rain is predicted before the game ends.

I did nap a little and feel better.

I made up salmon spread it was good.
Had the stuff for it dsis said she's never seen it there in the south.

I read just over 50 pages in one of my new art type books.
Got a dead rose dug out that I missed when I did the others.
Pulled up a garden stake and moved it to mark where I'd like to plant hydrangea.
Put out coffee grounds & egg shells where I"d like to plant a hydrangea.
Emptied cleaned and refilled the bird waters.
spiffed up the counter got the trash in the can and dishes in the sink.
Did some practice on the class for art assignments I'll be
working with gotta luv yt University. LOL!

The best thing for your brain is learning new dance steps.

Thoughts -

grocery/food cost chat with teens - it has never been more important not to wait until hungry to shop or make lists or decide whether to eat out, all those things. Food thinking now requires a level head and moderated blood sugar.

Btw - the art journaling Nancy is learning is also good for the brain. At least, as per her example from a teacher, shown in A, C and N topic, it takes a long time to grasp, for me. More than one type of thought happening at the same time.

Ds and dgsW came and clambered all over our outdoors. Ds took his leaf blower up a ladder onto the roof, cleaned roof and cleaned out gutters of those wispy-heavy seed (?) and vining parts that fall after leaves are long gone. They were really ready to clog the downspouts, for sure.
DgsW mowed and worked up the beds some more than I'd already done.
The two of them spread the bags of garden amendments I had here - manure, perlite.
Weeding was very light - I'd already done most.
HRH swept up twice as they worked, plus cleaned out the garden storage chest.

Ds calculated the "raised bed organic" bags he wants to get me for this year - 5 - for an inch of added soil over all the beds. I need to pay him.

Several ideas percolating to give the bird some privacy. There's even a foot-high "picket fence" that might work, very cheap.
We've all seen her, but, like many identifications, we all thought we saw someone different. One characteristic we know - she's fast.
