I started a thread just after Harriet's and deleted.

Did you know today is the last Monday in April? We're almost at the one-third point of the year...do you need a refresh/refocus on this year's goals and ideas? Or on a more granular level, what needs to happen today, or this week, to make this last third of the year a success?

It's a good time to look ahead at plans for May (a busy busy month with school, sports, graduations, end of year programs) and into the summer?

Thank you for starting us off today Harriet (AND Twins' Mom!)

I don't have any dishes to do yet! I do have to put a bunch away!

Dh and I have had our hot tea and coffee. I offered Shepherd's Pie for supper. Dh said "Mmm!" when I asked, so I didn't mention anything else.

It's going up to 19C today, which is lovely!

For us May means get some dirt delivered, set up the hoses, set out the benches and small glass tables! Go get plants and plant some peas and radishes!! BBQ stuff! Sit outside and enjoy the warmth!

But first, file our taxes before the 30th of April.

Oh, I didn't mean to hop ahead of such sensible calendaring thoughts fromTwins' Mom, although that sort of sounds like me.

Sometimes, I think I'm a remarkably multi-talented wonder - a Jane of all trades. Remember how we used to tease about a toddler on one hip, the phone tucked under our chins, the other hand stirring something on the stove? But... ..
Sometimes, I think a rather important accomplishment is learning to make sure to consult somebody else.

Of course, I used to be too heavily budgeted to ask an expert to actually DO anything.

Today, we are off to a bunch of appts through the morning, expecting to be home mid-afternoon. HRH is already worried we're going to be late because "you never know about traffic". He's been waiting for that same horrible traffic jam for decades. ALTHOUGH, better remember - there was the one I got stuck in for hours on the interstate trying to get from the birth of a grandchild to HRH's gall bladder surgery. Uh. Okay, I admit there could be traffic.

I promise to consider and to refocus, checking on what's coming up on the calendar.

Ddoggo gave me an alert to eat bfast and do my Rx routine / thankful.

Drinking my second cup of coffee.

Was up and dressed with my morning routines done including Sweeties breakfast before I had my coffee. Left for class and then stayed for our drumming class.

I have 8K steps already and need to get the house ready for Einstein. I also have an appointment with Josh to work on my hips

Good morning

FIFTEEN DAYS until the end of school. I'm tying another knot in the end of my rope and holding on. In 15 days, I will no longer be homeschooling. TEN years of homeschool will come to an end. I will no longer have a child in grade school or middle school. These are HUGE changes in the both the teens lives and my life. Next school year I will only have one child in school. She will be a 10th grader in public school. That sounds incredibly easy.

On the not so easy side.....the discussion continues on our way to make a decision about participating in graduation ceremonies. Both teens remain firm in being against it. Tomorrow evening, we meet with DD14 trusted counselor to discuss this and then will make a final decision after that.
A side note....I am happy to have two confident, self-motivated teens. They are not easily influenced but they are willing to listen to their advisors and mentors. I hope these traits will be helpful as they become adults.

DH is happy. Reminding myself that sometimes that is enough. Today he couldn't remember where we keep the applesauce cups (same place for many years). He has eaten an applesauce cup every morning for years (takes his morning meds with it). This new amnesia change is somewhat alarming to me because there was no mental episode since yesterday. I can usually predict what he can do and what he can't. Now the symptoms are not following the previous pattern. I don't know what he can do and neither does he. My observation of him needs to increase and remain aware to keep him safe.

Another battery-operated appliance is a blessing to keeping DH feeling productive. He can safely use the battery vacuum without any problems. He vacuums the floor until the battery runs out. I don't need to keep eyes on him because I can hear what he is doing. Win! Win! Win!

Our bathrooms are not clean. I need to make a change. What are my options?
Option 1 - hire a house cleaning to come once a week.
Option 2 - implement teens cleaning bathrooms weekly
Option 3 - Implement me cleaning bathrooms weekly
Option 4 - Do quick daily cleaning of the bathrooms. Two minutes of less in each bathroom each day.
Option 5 - ??

I’m here, throwing myself on the mercy of the doctor. No appointment — couldn’t get them on the phone.

Before I could type that, the nurse called me and gave me a shot. Maybe there is relief in sight.

LadyM, the days are long but the years are short. You have brought your dkids so far in these these years.

WTG RR on you activity these days! Is the helper with dh while you're out?

No issues getting here for me, Nancy. I hope we aren't having problems here! Give your dog a pat on the head for us and thank her!

Hoping the outing today goes well, Harriet, and that no traffic issues are lurking, waiting for HRH to get stuck. Dh is meticulous about being on time - sometimes I pull up google maps to show him that it's not going take 45 minutes to get where we're going...

I've done two of the things on my list for today - got card in mail for dcousin and scheduled mammogram for later in May. Bit of panic that I didn't have card for my Medicare supplemental insurance and didn't seem to find a record of what it is - had changed on 1 January and I haven't had dr appointments since. Got logged into insurance and found it is same company as Rx insurance, so somehow I had only saved or printed the wrong card. So bits of panic while I figured it out.

And on calendaring, I accepted dental appointment for Wednesday a.m. because I thought there was nothing scheduled, and this a.m. got a text about the haircut I hadn't put on the calendar. I think I need to reschedule the haircut for after this trip. So a calendar failure right there, Harriet.
