Celebrate those Ta Das today - large and small, in house and elsewhere in your busy life! Don't let that silly list get you down, but focus on what's done and behind you!
A sense of completion - from Google AI overview:
A sense of completion is the psychological, "feel-good" state of pride and satisfaction achieved by finishing tasks or reaching goals, triggering dopamine release, and reinforcing self-efficacy. It reduces mental clutter, boosts motivation, and provides closure. Key ways to foster this include breaking large projects into smaller steps, celebrating, and setting weekly goals.

No ta-das yet, but I got myself dressed in grubby clothes this morning so I can tackle that bathroom once I've dropped DC off. (I'm just so paranoid about bleach -- the pants I'm wearing are ones I ruined with bleach cleaning the bathroom at some point in the past.) I'm hoping I can get it done in the time between getting home and going out to pick DC up. I did not have DD drive me to the drugstore yesterday, so that is something I still need to do. OTOH, I did have her drive to get the pizza. She also mowed the front lawn yesterday -- apparently, when DH asked DC to do it today, she was listening just enough to know her dad wanted the lawn mowed and just did it.
I've got no other news; I'll have to come back later to see what's going on in the village and admire Twins's shiny toesies!
Just had a hiccup in submitting -- I hope the village isn't slow because folks have been having trouble getting in.
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck
Teens have been successfully launched to work and school. Exchanging light hearted chit-chat is always a pleasant way to start the day.
We will eat out tonight at DD14 choice of place. She has expanded her choices, but they are still fairly predictable. It will most likely be Sonic, Subway or Whataburger.
If it is Sonic or Whataburger then I will get a seasoned burger patty. if her choice is Subway then I'll get Baja Chicken protein pocket. The Subway option has gluten, so it comes with the knowledge that I'll most likely have joint pain from eating it. Salad would be better option but my jaw hurts when I chew too much. Choices...Jaw pain or joint pain. Hum...
Drum roll please......Bathroom cleaning decision -
After waaaaayyyy too much overthinking, I am choosing to do daily bathroom cleaning. Until I learn to do it automatically, I am using a timer to encourage me to remain focused and do it quickly.
Spray sink & vanity
Spray bathtub or shower stall
Spray toilet
Using toilet brush swish inside of the bowl
Using disposable cloth wipe down in the same order as sprayed.
Quick wipe of the floor
Throw the disposable cloth away
Done in under 3 minutes. Each day the surfaces are cleaner and the disposable cloth shows less dirt/grime collected.

Laundry is the order of the day here, with several Ta Das. Just arranged all the linens in the master bath and got some clothes back to HRH's chest of drawers.
A very sad call this morning to let us know that my dear mail-carrier-cousin has passed away. He was out in his backyard and perhaps had some kind of medical emergency. He had only been retired a short time. He was our mail carrier for some 40 years, and his mother the "postlady" at the window for the nearest town for decades before that. The whole community remembers so many conversations on the porches, at the mailboxes, etc. He would go to so much trouble for elderly folks on his route so that he dealt with bad weather rather than letting them do it. Definitely put the "service" into the US Postal Service.
The children are all insisting he's too young - they remember him, though, from their childhoods, so have rose-colored glasses. Ds is particularly saddened because they chatted so often, including very recently.
Got in yea!
Slept in today so...
having a lingering time over my qt & journals.
Started duds.
Have just went to mail box got trash to the street.
Had my bfast.
Got a bit of weeding done filled a can.
Rebooted the trash can also.
Waving to all!

I’m feeling “hair on fire” today, in part because I was out of the house from 10 to 1. I made myself brunch when I came in. That took a few minutes and meanwhile dh was asking if I had done Docusign on a document about our investments. Then I asked him about supper tonight and suggested we go out to the restaurant we talked about with A and V a few nights ago, and would I call to see if they could go? (Right back to me.) While eating I did an Instacart order and used coupons to buy generic Mucinex at CVS for pick up. And dog has been antsy to have me go outside with her. Finally went out while I talked to V and dh is calling out that he’s leaving while I’m on the phone and waiting for reply. Oy. Now Instacart texts. No Daisy 2% cottage cheese.
Dog is back out and board down.

TA DA
* sheets are ready for the dryer
* went to church, signed some checks
* s/s the bathrooms -- thanks for the reminders, LadyM
* talked with dsisil, dmom, ds, and dh's cousin's dh... I had put this in J&C a while back, I think. DH's first cousin passed away this morning. It is so sad, but in a way, a blessing. She was 83, facing cancer, and too weak to take treatments. She was one of my favorites of dh's family and her husband also. Just a special couple. They have grown children and grown grandchildren, so he's not left totally alone.
* Talked to my dcousin; I'm going to take her the extra Ruth Graham book I bought.
