Uma Karuna Thurman (born April 29, 1970) is an American actress. Known for her collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, she has performed in over fifty film and television productions since the 1980s, across genres that range from comedies and dramas to science fiction and action. Her accolades include a Golden Globe Award and nominations for an Academy Award, two British Academy Film Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Following her appearances in two covers for British Vogue, Thurman starred in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Henry & June (1990), and Mad Dog and Glory (1993). She rose to international prominence with her portrayal as Mia Wallace in Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She reunited with the director to play the Bride in Kill Bill: Volume 1 and 2 (2003–2004), which brought her a BAFTA Award nomination and two additional Golden Globe Award nominations.

Thurman's other film credits include The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996), Batman & Robin (1997), Gattaca (1997), Les Misérables (1998), Paycheck (2003), The Producers (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), Nymphomaniac (2013). The House That Jack Built (2018), Hollywood Stargirl (2022), and The Old Guard 2 (2025).She made her Broadway debut in The Parisian Woman (2017–2018).

Thurman won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Film for her performance in the HBO film Hysterical Blindness (2002) and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for appearing in the NBC series Smash (2012).On television, she has starred in The Slap (2015), Imposters (2017–2018), Chambers (2019), Super Pumped (2022), and Dexter: Resurrection (2025–present).

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!

Just a quick CI as I need to be OTD early. I need to walk down to the café where we're hoping to have parish lunch next month, to ensure they will be open then. (It's a family run business, a.d they go back to Hong Kong a couple ofl times a year for a few weeks to spend time with extended family). The parish administrator understandably wants all the details, so she can put a notice in the weekly newsletter

I also have weight loss clinic for Jude a.d a nurse appointment for me, a.d Waitrose are delivering this evening, so it's going to be a full day. DH is going to a funeral today, so I need to make sure he is correctly attired before I leave!

Ive had notification that Fred's 6 month health check with a nurse is due . He had a thorough exam at the end of March, and all anyone can do with him when he's awake , is weigh him in his carrier and then do the maths. So I don't think there's any point in me bringing him in just so he can swear at everyone in the waiting room, and terrorise a poor nurse!

It's another quiet morning here. I suppose everyone is off being productive. OR the website is glitching again.

I have 3 things on my schedule today which will keep me scheduled straight from when I leave the house at 10:15 until 3:30, when I'm done with my personal trainer. I do hope to have time between the hair appointment and the personal trainer appt. to get some lunch:
- 10:30 payroll: tour of new facility (we're moving - 1 block away; rent is cheaper and we're trying to survive this geopolitical moment which is not good for our industry)
- 11:30 - 1ish haircut and highlight in other town; with travel, I'll be out 11-almost 2
- 2:30 - 3:30 work out with AS

Other things: laundry, clean sheets on the bed, WF OR a Kroger order (grocery shopping again - I'm doing it piecemeal this week as I'm fitting it into very small slots of time I have each day - never had a big slot of time for a big trip) for a veggie for tonight. Dinner will be leftover gnocchi and a veggie, TBD.

M returns from a trip today. We shall see if she joins us for dinner again.

Yesterday got away from me - I did not even get back here... I was overtired from the day before, so just dragged through the day.

Good morning / good afternoon, Helia, KitKat and L.Ann

Helia, I hope the new premises are both attractive and practical. Jude has lost another 30 grams (approximately 1 ounce).

KitKat, we have too many clothes too..I usually have a donations bag on the go,.and walk it over to the charity bank when it gets full.

L.Ann, I hope DD's appointment goes smoothly.

I'm back after a very successful appointment with Jude -she behaved like a little angel throughout - and has lost another 30 grams, so in total she's lost 700 grams from her heaviest recorded weight. (I'm embarrassed to say it's taken us 2 years to get to this point, but it is very important cats lose weight slowly and steadily, otherwise it can adversely affect their liver. Jude has maybe taken this advice somewhat too literally! )

Having a late lunch, then I'll walk down to the health centre.
