April 2026 - Declutter and Organization

Post by Harriet »

Today is a milestone of 2026, as we begin the second quarter of the year!
Is it time to ~^~shake ~^~ things ~^~up ~^~ and try new ideas?

How is your PLAN working - would you enjoy a change?
Is there better CALENDARING that would help keep you focused?
Are their CONTAINERS (trash, storage) you'd like to use differently or replace?
Are you using RECORD KEEPING to your advantage or do you need a change?
Do you need to refocus on DONATION?

As it turns out, Harriet, I have Habitat scheduled to show up here tomorrow to pick up some stuff in garage.

I should get dh to help pull things out for them.

Thanks for these great questions Harriet they are helping me today especially!

I do not have as many donations for the church yard sale in June as I have had in the past.

My paperwork put away is lagging.
Record keeping I had to do a catch up on my done list log for last mo. did that did a re-set on pages in that planner.
Record keeping needs attn. put away receipts bills filing needed.
Budget log has been pretty much non existent in the off line note book I had been doing
as I have more of it on line these days.

My clothes need organization aka my bed room zone work.
Seasonal stuff change out hang up etc.

Harriet, this is very apposite for me! I have a pile of decluttered shoes (all paired) sitting on the bedroom floor. I need to bag these up and then walk them over to the charity bank located in the valley park.

Right now, I'm looking at "Outdoor" as my decluttering focus this week, so a little embarrassed that my previously COMPLETELY CLEAR back porch now has an assortment of gardening stuff there. I'm believing that as I move through this planting time it will be dealt with well. We'll be bringing home a few more things from garden center, but they are INTENDED, at least, to bring some of these projects to finishes, all used up, or swept up. If there were no life obstacles, I'd love to have a greenhouse/potting shed.

Happily, small items have their place in the mud room closet - bottles and sprayer for foliar products, the rooting medium, etc. But when larger items show up, if they need cover, this space is all I have.

CI -
This week I've filled the toy chest with prayer shawls to donate for the Christmas Connection later in the year.
I have a couple more to work on for that.
Planning maybe vests for me as I wear them a lot.

Got meat divided and froze so some can go to the basement freezer.

Doing the dig out plants has all but two cans full.

I've been doing Liv. room zone and it needs dusted. Got the piles of books & journals I was not currently using put away or at least out of
sight in a diff. room now.

Lg. lawn mower box could hold leaves or __________ weeds who knows, I'll keep you posted?

Continuing here found a planner 5 x 7" ish size I'm using for the work book on Automic Habits I got yesterday. Redating ou undating the planner with white out and the notes are going in it as needed now. I will be looking to see if I still have that book.
