Bama, I read in bed at night, and also when I'm sitting in my garden. The disadvantage of reading.at night is I may get carried away and read until the small hours, or else fall asleep with the light on!

KitKat, I'm not surprised DPup was exhausted -I feel tired just reading about her walk!

Dogged, I was mentally picking my battles this morning. Trainers were going to be an absolute no-no for a funeral, but I would have let a lack of tie go. Fortunately I didn't have to do anything, DH dressed himself.

I'm tired - I know it's early, but I might go to bed soon, just as soon as Matilda gets off my lap. Waitrose have delivered and the groceries are PA and everyone fed.

DH - to funeral for AK - he was launched wearing his suit, smart black shoes (*not* trainers!) and a tie!!!

I've had notification that Fred's 6 month health check with a nurse is due . He had a thorough exam at the end of March, and all anyone can do with him when he's awake , is weigh him in his carrier and then do the maths. So I don't think there's any point in me bringing him in just so he can swear at everyone in the waiting room, and terrorise a poor nurse! Lovely receptionist agreed with me

I'm in that state where the organized part of the packing is done, and now I have a bunch of half-started things and feeling like I'm not getting anywhere. This too shall pass.
I can feel the beginnings of a migraine, so I'll take a pill and lie down for a bit before it has a chance to take hold.

Kittykatt, I’ve been known to stay up way too late for a good book or a movie too. Cheers for dh making good choices.

Dogged, you’re so right. We only have so much time in a day to make stuff happen.

Dw unloaded loaded, fridge cleaned out, meats and things that need to be eaten up are what’s for dinner, turkey got 2 buckets of scraps to last him awhile, I moved an extra litter box into the foyer to be used while we are gone, vacuumed, filled box with road trip snacks and dog items, moved box of moms toiletries to bathroom off of dining table, my laundry folded and put away, dh mowed the big yard and is washing my car now, I was going to mop but just spot cleaned very well, added some things to the grocery list to pu on the way home.

To do:
Wash dhs clothes
Unload things from car that don’t need to go with us so we will have room to bring things back for either dd if they need us to
Snack on some almonds

Did last list plus vacuumed the car, found a gift, gift bag, and confetti for dd, made note to get a card, she sent a text regarding parking, I hope it’s not too crazy,

Back at it, and I came up with a better system for what I'm stuck on. I have a collection of clean cardboard boxes that I have been using for my decluttering project. With garbage bags for plastic liners, those will do very well for food and cleaning products, and then they can go into the trunk instead of the back seat. We have a plan.

Bama, how did I miss that your Dd2 is graduating? Congratulations to her! I don't read in bed, just in the evening before bed, sitting in the living room. We don't watch TV. In fact, dh works all evening. That is a good question re: carry on baggage. Lately, when I board with my carry on suitcase (overhead bin), backpack, and purse, I'm asked to consolidate the purse and backpack. I now just do that ahead of time so I just walk on board with 2 items. We fly Delta; it may depend on the airline you fly?
When are you leaving, Doggedly? It sounds like you're making progress on packing. Do you take Germane with you? That would make packing more complicated.
Sleep well, Kitty! So glad dh didn't wear trainers to the funeral.

I think my hair does look nice! Friend JY does a nice job with it.

I pick up the rental car tomorrow, helia, and drive up on Saturday. I do bring Germane with me, and yes, a lot of the prep/packing is for her. Especially now, as she is showing her age in so many ways.
I'm glad that you are happy with your hair. No matter how well it turns out, if it doesn't feel like you it's jarring when you see yourself in the mirror.

I have been there 4 times in the last week, helian. Once to do my clearance and then back because I forgot my passport but the office was closed. Then I went back on Monday to get the passport and today to do DD33’s. Luckily the workers are lovely. TSA has spent weeks in the news here, KitKat, so I forgot everyone might not know . It is the clearance process for airports and since things have been crazy with their funding we decided it was worth paying for precheck which gives us more options at the airport and is good for 5 years.
