Hi, everyone.
A busy day and no time to get here.
We went out to pharmacy where we have had to leave HRH's scripts almost too long with so much going on for us.
They were closed for lunch for the next 10 minutes, so HRH waited in line while I took time there to try to find reading glasses with some success. Eh.

Traffic was a shocker. Lunchtime rushes?

We went on to the home improvement place but HRH, I think, had bs going low and was very frustrated by traffic, pretty miserable, so again an extremely abbreviated trip. He complained so I just laid the facts out for him - if I can only shop when someone is waiting and disappointed to be there, then I hurry and never really get a shopping trip at all, just some rush-throughs without being sure what's available. So, there's no surprise that it doesn't suffice. Better vision helps, but I can't think when rushed.
Anyway, again I came home with just a few items, wondering what might have been on the next aisle.

Got the kitchen spiffed, dishwasher running. Pretty good meals into us. Made a grocery order.
That minister sent an email of thanks for the work.
Also, an email letting me know a 2nd cousin has passed away. Dd27 will take it hard.

The house is not at optimal, but I can only manage so much. I know the children have a secret of all showing up Sat afternoon - they ought to know not to tell HRH, because he will warn me, of course. It will be fun, but of course I'm thinking about how the house is just not ready for company. They are talking about being outdoors, but we have no lawn chairs right now - something we might have remedied in other years, but not this year. These are not problems, not at all. Wishing there were ways to handle things better, but we'll do our best and it will be fine.

Tomorrow, if I can slip past HRH, I will get more housework done.

((Ramblin')), ouch, ouch! I hope you are not too sore, and not bruised.

Mystery
, enjoy your rejuvenated cards!

Nancy, I saw your recent vids of grass growing so lush. It really makes me notice that we are in drought here.

Cathy, good job getting ready for thrift store donating.

Sunny says in J and C she got to check in on us. Thinking of you, Sunny!

I haven't posted much (any) today because I haven't done much. I lay in bed a really long time this morning -- sleeping some, scrolling on my phone some.

Then ds called and I found out the ballgame tonight was NOT cancelled, that dgd and her teammates were spending an hour at the * 4th grade dance * and then going on to play the game. (The dance was 5-7, the game started at 7.) So I suddenly had a reason to get started with my day, LOL.
AND -- I found out a little boy in dgd's class had asked her to be his "date," and wanted to know what color her dress was, so he could get her a corsage. :!: I'm not sure how I feel about elementary schools -- and even middle schools -- doing these dances. It just seems like to me they are pushing kids to grow up too fast. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur. Anyway, if they are "pushing," I don't think it's taking. DGD came home with about 30 glow sticks and said she didn't dance with anyone, and it sounded like they all just ran around and played the whole time.

Tomorrow her class will go to what we call the "Indian festival," but that is not politically correct anymore, so it is now the "Multicultural Festival," held at local Indian mounds. DS and some friends will be playing out there for an hour, but I don't think I will go tomorrow. They will also be playing on Saturday and ddil will join them, so I will probably wait and go Saturday. DGS' class is not going -- a few years ago, the older kids started acting up -- too rambunctious, disruptive -- so no one goes anymore with school groups except the elementary kids. I kinda feel bad about NOT going, because when dh was alive, he would not DREAM of missing it... but OTOH, 10:00 a.m. is pretty early for me ;) AND I am STILL coughing and having a LOT of sinus symptoms.
Years ago, the Indian Festival was what finally made me break down and call the allergy doctor and start shots. DS has had a big part in it for most of the past 15 years or so. He used to be completely in charge of the entertainment and scheduled all day music in the amphitheater, but this year he only has to be there for his one hour each day.

So I went to the ballgame, (we lost, but dgd did get to score a run), and since I got home, I have washed the dishes I left in the sink last night.
I also went to the dollar tree and got cards for May and June. High priority was a Mother's Day card, because I had not gotten my mom a card yet! I try to buy for 2 months when I am in there, and I keep a 3x5 in the wallet with the monthly birthdays, etc. It is sooo much cheaper to buy greeting cards there!

It was good to see Sunny posting!

Harriet -- my shopping trips with dh were exactly as you described!
if I can only shop when someone is waiting and disappointed to be there, then I hurry and never really get a shopping trip at all, just some rush-throughs without being sure what's available. So, there's no surprise that it doesn't suffice.

I don't know why men don't realize that! I guess because, in my dh's case, he wasn't in a hurry to begin with -- had in his mind what he wanted, went straight to it, picked it up, paid, and left. Never any curiosity about what else might be available.
Hmmm... I'm just thinking, lawn chairs were probably available at the home improvement place...
(((HUGS))) for you and dd and all your family. I am so sorry about your dcousin.

Rose! (((HUGS))) I am so glad you do not have a broken nose! But ooohhh... I bet that hurt.

Mystery, Dmom and I were just talking about our card files today. She said she was trying to get back into hers. I told her I am quite consistent with mine... I look at them every day and re-file them for the next week.
WHAT IS THE SECRET??? I guess I should just stack them up in order of priority each night, and JUST DO IT. No more THINKING about it, just DO the top card and move on, right? Is that how all you productive people do? I allow myself entirely too much THINKING and being distracted.

LadyM, your tortilla sounds delicious! And WTG on the yard work. I need to be doing some pruning with my little chainsaw, but again -- until this sinus thing clears up, I know I do not need to have my face in the shrubs and trees.
Happy birthing day!

It was chilly at the ballgame tonight. I was glad I carried a jacket.

WTG, Nancy! You have a lot of ta-das for the day!

You too, Cathy! You've had a busy day!

I am going to take my shower. I did (sort of) get 15 minutes of indoor walking done before I washed the dishes, and all my laundry is done. I just can't get myself into the WHB chores, needless to say the zone chores. I feel really lazy, but it still doesn't take a lot to get me coughing again. I know I'm making improvement, though, because I slept without taking the cough syrup last night.
Tomorrow is another day.
