trissie WTG with the gardening! As for my family, as far as I know my father's memory is fine and his brain is fine - but if there were any signs of anything, DM wouldn't tell us, probably. His physical health is not great, he can't walk more than a few minutes, has difficulty climbing stairs or going aboard trains and such. He's also struggling with depression - he has been for many years I think. Because of him she can't travel any more, and she can't leave him home for more than a few hours or he may fall and not manage to get up again. Yes, what happened to your DFIL could happen to my DM and that would be a difficult issue. I hope we would be able to work out a solution together, even if some of us don't talk to some others of us. I hope.
Hi helia, I hope a hot day is what you wish for. Better go for your jog before it gets too hot. I see you have a social evening, and more social events this week. GL with that.
Slow afternoon. Sipping at a translucent coffee right now. Kids are quiet, reading on the couch.
I still intend to get more things done.
TADAs
time with DS10 figuring out the walkie-talkie set he had dug out of the attic
folded back the foldable bed in the attic, stripped cushions, put them away in large zip bags
a load of bedseehts in
helped a bit with lunch, served lunch, helped with cleaning up
played a logical game (SmartGame) with DS7
bedheets on drying rack, folded previous laundry
now sipping at coffee
TODO
make adult plans for the afternoon : photobook, gardening, set things up for the week
help with dinner prep
try and keep the screens off this afternoon
make list of to-dos, later tonight

I really hope you will not have to come to that for years, Frenchie!
helia, a day starting without a proper coffee is, like, the worst punishment for procrastionation! But in this house, DH would run to the corner stores to get me the necessary supplies. He knows not to tread on dangerous ground if it can be avoided!

Re: South Downs National Park Sunday
My unsolicited opinion Trissie is that you can most likely handle things fine but since there are already inter family disagreements having a non family person involved could be really helpful even if their recommendations are exactly the same as the ones you would make.

Re: South Downs National Park Sunday
L.Ann, that's actually a very good point! But I will still need to get the paperwork together - if you come to a lawyer with a well done file, you not only save a ton on legal fees (because of work they don't have to do), but also a lot of time.
TaDas
- strip and remake master bed
- washed 6 chairs
- oiled 4 chairs
- 15 in the garage
- load of towels running (maybe that was the last set?)
- stain-treated the swillening chair from DS' room which was shoved in the garage sometimes... who knows when to be cleaned and then offered to whoever wants it
ToDos
- afternoon routine
- final 30 outside
- clean out downstairs storage as DH is legitimately complaining he can't access the shelves

Re: South Downs National Park Sunday
There is so much that is excruciatingly difficult in these situations that anything you can do to see something positive is a good thing, Trissie. Even when you know there are better ways to do things that are totally out of your control.
I don’t want to do anything but since I know I won’t get all my walking in at least one day this week I guess I will do at least most of that.

Re: South Downs National Park Sunday
Good day, all. It is a beautiful spring day. I hope to get my hair washed and get Germane out in it.
Kittykatt, thank you for another intersesting start.
You are right; I am back to feeling like myself today, and enthuisiastic about getting things done.
A willing new volunteer--I hope that you get to meet her.
Woo hoo on a decent night's sleep, trissie.
If you did go the route of consulting with with a lawyer who specializes in family law, I think that it would be more a case of keeping something off of your already overfull plate rather than a reflection of your abilities.
I had a slow day too yesterday, FrenchFly. Sometimes we just need that.
I hope that your dparents stay independent for a good long time.
Helping someone move is a huge job, helia. You won't be needing much exercise today!
We are supposed to get the hot heat tomorrow. I am not ready to set up the air conditioner yet, so I might spend the hot part of tomorrow afternoon lounging in front of fans. That doesn't sound too bad, actually.
I am at the end of Page 1 and am ready to launch myself from this chair. Look out dirt! Here I come!
Sunday
Gave dog her heart pill with treat.
Cleaned up after dog
Washed floor
Put away dry laundry
Brought out the last of the tops to finish drying
Put away dry dishes
Put on a pot of coffee
Finished going through my AllieExpress cart, made decisions and completed the purchase

Re: South Downs National Park Sunday
I am clean and sparkly. I fed Germane and as an experiment tried layering her food: the probably rejected dog food on the bottom, a layer of the desirable fish and then poured an envelope of probiotic over the top. We'll see if she eats it.
L.Ann, we are glad that you survived your walk
Woo hoo on getting the bushes done, L.Ann. I picture you leaning out of the castle window cutting them with a sword, occasionally threatening the alligators that want to come up from the moat.
That must be isolating for your dmother, FrenchFly. I wonder if there are any respite programs near her, like we have here, where he could stay for an afternoon here and there so that she could have a break?
We need the right fuel to function, trissie. Luckily, your DH knows yours.
Sunday
Gave dog her heart pill with treat.
Cleaned up after dog
Washed floor
Put away dry laundry
Brought out the last of the tops to finish drying
Put away dry dishes
Put on a pot of coffee
Finished going through my AllieExpress cart, made decisions and completed the purchase
Cleaned up after dog X 2
Showered/washed hair
Put together a layered dish for Germane
