Sunny sizzling Sunday
Good morning! It is now in the air conditioning stage here. we always have such a small period in which windows can be open to nice fresh air as opposed to heat or AC. my todos today:
Church, teach Sunday School
laundry
help at seniors service this afternoon
research project for work
whatever pops up in between

Good morning!
atlanticflyer, I didn't realize you had a.c.-warm temps by midMay. A short swing-through of spring. I hope you enjoy all the services today and the SS kids have a great time with you. Hmmm ... .. and that you have some occasions to smile at them, too!
blessed, I'm sure you are super busy. Are you able to enjoy the renovation yet, or is it mostly still work getting finished with it all? Able to get out into the yard? I have been wistfully wishing I'd been able to start seeds indoors like you and LadyM, so do tell!
There's a service I'm supposed to be sure to watch this a.m. Hoping technology cooperates. Wondering if it is being recorded.
This afternoon, 2 pots arrive - that's a theory, we'll see.
Now it's dawning on me I probably don't have enough potting soil to get them finished up. I can just see HRH's face.
Plan for lunch is shredding fresh squash with carrots for cucumber-slice sandwiches on some Dave's bread.
Plan for supper is my fave pineapple-poblano skillet meal. Finally got a really nice poblano after a while of not seeing them.

Hi! AtlanticFlyer it's the same here. 10 C on Friday and 30C today. Thank you for starting us off today. I haven't put the 2 window units in place yet. So just fans for us for today.
I've been to Walmart for soda, peanut butter and cat litter. I think those are the top 3 "needs" in this house at all times. I also go hamburger buns for supper. I will make cheeseburgers. Most likely on the BBQ.
Came home and dh was just starting outside. He said the garage was locked. It wasn't because I had unlocked it to put the plants on top of the freezer and I left the keys on the hook inside the door. When I got home dh said "Thank goodness you're home because the plants are in the truck." I gently let him know they were in the garage and the door was unlocked and the keys were inside the garage. We have 1 spot (a small metal dish) where the keys have lived for many years. If the set with the garage and house key aren't in the dish they are in the garage on the hook. Dh also really struggled physically to plant 8 plants. All of this just makes me so sad.

Re: Sunny sizzling Sunday
Good morning
Baby bird update – this morning I found a dead adult bird (possibly a starling) near the nest. I’m guessing it was killed by mockingbirds defending their young. I can still hear the baby birds, so I know they’re alive, but I’m not going to get close for a look since the mockingbirds are in full protective mode. Two of them are standing guard. Prediction: Twelve days of parents working tirelessly to feed the babies until they take flight.
Last week I set up a patio table & 4 chairs for DH to use in front of the house. I put that side of the driveway off limits to DS17 parking his vehicles, so the open space around the patio area is larger (there are plenty of other places to park). DH is enjoying using his new sitting area several times all through the day. He gets to wave at friends driving by and enjoys observing the squirrels, birds, bulls and horses. Last night one of DH lifelong friends came and visited with him for a couple hours while sitting outside.
Project of the day continue to focus on paperwork. I don't have a large block of time to spend on it, so I need to grab moments here & there all through the day. I have several baby steps identified & planned to accomplish today. I keep telling myself it will eventually come together if I don't give up on these baby step progress.

Re: Sunny sizzling Sunday
Sizzling here, will be nearly 90 today and partly cloudy. We're beginning to see more humidity too. Plans are to go to river this afternoon. DH is pushing me hard to get back to normal, whatever that it. I'm struggling but spending time with A and V at the river should be good for me. Don't know about a boat ride, I might prefer sitting on their deck today.
My mind is jumbled up so with to dos and should dos, now that I'm trying to think. Busy week with leaving next Sunday. Texted with dd earlier and she wants to come home for funeral - I can't stop her but told her that we would all (including cousins) prefer she enjoy her trip and think often of dcousin.

A large pot of mac and cheese (with extra cheese) is made.
As i work to establish the habit of cleaning bathrooms daily, I am drifting into also cleaning small segments of our bedroom and the library each day. Today I wanted to wipe down the dresser top that has stacks of DH papers. I grabbed a handful and sorted them. They were papers from DH DMom affairs. 90% of it will be burned (can't shred easily). I did hold onto some papers that I'm unsure what to do with - her birth certificate, marriage license, drivers license, etc.
Music continues to be a wonderful way for DH to enjoy his memories. The Temptations are currently playing "Ain't Too Proud To Beg"

Re: Sunny sizzling Sunday
Good afternoon! Went to church this morning; our priest announced that he would be having hip surgery in July, right about the time of his usual annual vacation -- a lousy way to spend your vacation, if you ask me. (OTOH, I suppose making pain better might be considered a great use of one's time.) There will be other priests covering Sundays and funerals, but no daily Masses. Since I'm not a daily Mass-goer, that won't affect me.
DH is at graduation, sort of. The actual graduation starts at 3; he says he will likely slip out of there at 2:55. He helps with setup and with passing out school ties to the graduates.
I've told him that I'd like to go to Home Despot tomorrow. He's got guys' night on Tuesday. It occurs to me that I should also get a watering can for the porch.
It is warm here, but not a/c warm -- mid 70s. I suppose that's good, since we don't have the a/c in yet. Meanwhile, DH still has the heavy blanket on the bed. I have been throwing off the covers and still sweating a bit. Hoping I can convince him to change the bed to summer covers.
Pineapple and poblano sounds yummy to me, Harriet, though I couldn't sell it around here -- one kid hates pineapple, while the other finds bell peppers too spicy.

I like the oasis for your DH, LadyM!
I should probably do chair exercises before settling in to watch the ballgame. I've currently got it on in the background; my team is winning.
Wishing you all a good day!
