Managing Monday PWYC
Some of us have a holiday today, others wait until next week. How are you managing your own Monday? Lots to do? Take it easy, it's a holiday? Let's hear all about it, either way!
Happy Victoria Day to our Canadian neighbors and friends!

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!!
YES!! It IS a holiday here! The third Monday of May is Victoria Day in Canada. We can go to see firework displays if we wish. It's usually the weekend that people plant stuff in their gardens if they are lucky enough to have gardens. Some people like in apartments or condos but if they have a balcony some people might have plants on their balconies. BBQs are happening. Air conditioners might get turned on. Most people don't need their furnaces on any longer. Swimming pools are being opened for the season as well.
I was up before 6 thanks to the cats. Cats all went outside at 7 a.m. I went back to bed to read at 8 and now I am up and having a hot cup of tea.
Weed whacker guy might be coming over to help dh with some outside stuff later.
A young person we know is supposed to come over later. Dh is going to offer her one of our raised garden beds.
We think the PSW is coming over. They work some holidays. We don't know what time or who it might be.
It's very hot here already but it's also very windy. The sun is out.
I would like to clean the kitchen today.
I say that every day.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Trying to get the day started here...Dog is walked. Dh headed out to chiropractor. I need a list. We were out yesterday and my planning suffered, and I've been up since 7:30 and so far have written in my planner that I have a workout at two.
Okay, pork chops for supper with corn on the cob if I go to a grocery, a sweet potato if not, and roasted broccoli.
Some OMM for today
-water/fertilize plants, deadhead geraniums
-P.O. box for HOA
-grocery store?
-work on research list for trip
-prioritized list for week, to dos, deferred until 1June
-CVS to pick up things I need later, ordered online
It will be 90 degrees here today, same as yesterday at river. I was exhausted by the time we got home, even tho I was sitting in the shade and came in for awhile to cool off. I think dh was dehydrated. He and A disappeared for about three hours for a boat ride.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
I'm up and have done the coffee qt planning & journaling part of
my morning.
I can do some of the things I did't last week.
Harriet I had luck on finding what I needed and wanted by just checking when I was
at that store each week. If there are others in you area you could look there for what
you want. Might be fun for after an appointment that's not to strenuous to look forward to
on the way back home just a thought. Or have family member pick one up from their store.

Good morning
Happy Victoria Day to our Canada friends.
Both teens were woken and launched without any problems this morning. I continue to be surprised and fascinated by DD14. On the drive to school, she was lamenting about having to go to school....when she could be working and making money instead. HUH? Who is this child? Just when I think I might have these descendants of mine figured out, they go an surprise me. #GoodSuprises
P.s. Just in case you think she might be lacking for money and need a job. That isn't it. I gave her over $100 cash last week so she has plenty of spending money. IMHO, she has hit that time of growing up where independence become important to her.
We have two medical appointments today plus meds to pick up from pharmacy.
** 11am appt for me to get every 6 month shot (Prolia). I have to go to hospital infusion center to receive the simple shot in my arm. Total overkill IMHO, but that is the only way they will do it.
** 1pm I will go with DS17 to family doctor appt because they won't see this 6'4" bearded fella without me being with him. He might still be a minor, but he certainly doesn't look like it. In 3 months, he will be able to go to doctor appt without me. Independence hit DS17 long ago and he is totally ready to reach this milestone in his life.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Good morning! Thanks for opening us up, Twins!
Enjoy your holiday, Cathy (aflyer, too)! I'm not sure how you go about offering someone a raised bed -- they seem pretty permanent. Or is it a case of, "Sure, come on over and grow what you like"?
Offspring are both up -- DC, of all people, was downstairs before I was. No "Good Mornternoon" today. (It just occurs to me that I could use that here when I get here at my usual 11:45 or so.) I'm breakfasted, pilled, washed breakfast dishes, treadmill (very briefly -- the treadmill is in a sunroom, and I could only get one of the windows open (very old storm/screen sliding sash system)), and now I'm here.
Agenda for the day: hit the drugstore and DD's bank. She finally got the large check the state owed her (funds from a custodial account my mom had for her), so she should deposit that in person, and the drive will require left turns into and out of the drugstore and out of the bank. DD wants more practice on left turns. Once DH is home, we can go get the smoke alarms and planter boxes. I'm looking forward to getting the stuff, but not to the trip -- it's such a large place, so there will be much walking. I need to measure the width of the railing to make sure to get boxes that will fit. I'm worried about them tipping over. I may end up getting the kind that hang from the railing rather than the kind that fit over the railing; we'll see. But then I get to plant my pitty frowers!
But first, the dailies. Next up is wash. Don't know if there will be time to do anything between that and lunch. It might be a good time to do the errand with DD. Have a great day, everybody!

Oh, goodness! I had trouble posting, and in the meantime, the joint started jumping! (Maybe that was the trouble? Too many posts at once?) Good morning to Nancy and LadyM and all who come after!

Happy Victoria Day
The movie Remarkably Bright Creatures is recommendable, but unexpectedly about injuries, and so, rather sad. The book's (and screenplay's) author wrote a novel that looks at the damage of shaming culture, so ... .. in one way, "dog bites man" and "fork found in kitchen", people are idiots. However, viewed from an unusual vantage point, looking backward, and as if empathy were logic, it's kind of a "what if an alien landed, what would they think?" story, and it does that very well.
Nancy, true, and maybe I could cancel and just look around here to find more items that could be used instead. I could call it innovative, upcycling, lol.
I've been working on the new template, which came out well. The new tool I call my Ex acto pen is very helpful.
Hope everyone's Monday starts a productive week.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Well I have a lot to mange today and in the weeks to come… like I don’t have enough at the moment.
Big news… we now have our tiny toy yorky which arrived yesterday. Our friends brought her from their Kentucky breeder that Coco came from and is a gift to Sweetie from them.
She arrive last night and is almost 10 weeks old and weighs 1.5 lbs. Her name is Amelia Earhart after the explorer as she is very curious and already loves to explore the world around her. She is the runt of the litter… I love runts and will only weigh 3lbs when full grown and she is already bindin with Sweetie.
Here’s the interesting part… Coco will be joining us tonight and will be with us for the next two months as her family is again travelling to China. Gee my friend was born in China but raised here. Her daughter is an American Chinese and just finished her first year of college.
She has never been to her home country and her parents are taking her there.
Both Coco and Amelia have spent a few days together and love to play. Coco is 1.5 years and weighs 4 lbs.
This should be an interesting adventure… don’t think I’m going to get a lot of sleep for a while
Harriet… we just watched the movie and loved it

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Mystery, I just got a "service unavailable" screen myself, but then it was over. No, the problem should not be too many "guests" here, our number is low, but in the greater scheme of things out there, hmmm... ..
I can at least say we know who to call.
Ramblin', how happy. Amelia.
