I've peeled the hard boiled eggs and letting them sit to dry for a few minutes. Also finished today's load of laundry to put away status.
With 3 people in the house wanting to talk with me frequently, I am feeling the need for outside activities.

DH has changed to Frankie Laine music. I'm not familiar with it.

Next up -
** water the raised beds
** harvest peppers and strawberries
** weed eat something

LM was glad to hear of the solution on boots until the new ones arrive.

I've done a few more things
... got the mower battery recharged.
cleaned under the mower.
swept the driveway, mostly seed stems.
Found the journal I was looking for made an entry in it
only 6 more and I"LL be done with that one.

up at 4 made me want a snack earlier that I usually eat.

Question for the is week do any of you decorate for Canada Day or Memorial Day?

I was pondering that as I swept.
Swept in side then mopped after starting duds. Plus put the pizzas in the basement freezer.
So... my list is done except for watering where to put tulips and the bulbs I'll be removing.

I'm back! It turned out that I was not too ambitious. In fact, focusing on what I was doing, I got done before I expected to. Currently, I'm having lunch -- salad with diced chicken, a protein shake, and some diced mango. Ballgame is about to start. Once lunch is done, the next :45 should include rousing DC if they haven't shown their face by then, cleaning up lunch, doing my chair exercises and then starting on my to-do list. I think I'm going to have DD carry the gardening accoutrements upstairs, then I will put on a sweatshirt and try to get those flowers planted. I know that will take more than 45 minutes!

It's currently sunny here, though it was overcast this morning. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday, at least. One weather app says only a small chance of rain thereafter, but the other says rain Sunday and Monday as well. I hope it is clear Monday, at least, for the sake of the parade.

LadyM, did your DS's employer order steel-toed boots as well, or is the order just the replacement Red Wings? I hope that until the steel-toes arrive that they don't have him doing things that would require them. I don't imagine muck boots offer much protection.

DC has shown their face of their own volition, and the ballgame is going on, with no score yet. Lunch is finished, and I just discovered that my 45 minute timer was set to count up, not down, so I got no alarm when I was supposed to. I will have to set the timer properly and get back to work. But I have to pull myself away from the game -- no sooner did I say there was no score than my guys started scoring!

Those done and enjoyed being outside. It has reset my day.

I had a couple of sweet moments.
DD14 wanted envelopes. She went to the desk drawer where they are stored but the envelope box was empty. Eeek. This isn't something that I pay much attention to because I rarely need an envelope. I went to my office supply stash and found a box of 100 envelopes just wanting for us to need.
Off the chart in my understanding, but I'm totally okay with it....DD14 wanted LOTS of envelopes because she is writing herself a letter every day. I asked if she was mailing them and was told no. She just wants to keep each day letter in its own envelope. >>>shrugging shoulders<<<< Such an easy thing to support. I absolutely think it is a good thing to be putting thoughts on paper.
Another sweet moment of being able to find things instantly. I'm not sure what documentation they will need to open a checking account for DD14. She doesn't have an ID so I went looking for documentation for her. I keep a binder for each of us. DD14 binder contains her birth certificate, ss card, adoption papers, shot record, etc. It was so easy to find everything that she will need in one spot and it is easily portable.
I'm not trying to brag, but just acknowledge that in my paperwork MESS there are small areas of organization. Having these moments of being able to find what I need instantly is motivation to me to keep going and create more of these organized areas.

What a thought-provoking start, Twins' - I was planning at one point early that I would start us but then was called away. And later, still morning, actually had hands on the keys for a post and HRH asked me to come look at the puzzling ac filter purchase with him. Never getting back.

LadyM, you brag all you want! It's a big success when you can put your hands on what's needed. I did that for the scribbled ac filter recommendation from HVAC guy for our order today - reassuring.

The lovely weather is allowing me to clean up and neaten outdoors, make a few last-minute decisions before the rains. HRH really didn't want to go out, so I've piggy-backed onto his order of the filters, just indoor potting mix to work with during our enforced indoor week or 10 days. Some of my indoor plants are asking for more toe-room.

Instead of giving the last outdoor plant an attractive planter as I intended, I'll pot it up one level into the largest of the thin black nursery-pots I own, to thrive, I hope, until some better decision comes my way. One or two planters I'll drag/carry to some shelter, since some of these thunderstorms will of course be hard, driving rain and wind.

WonderBoy is graduating high school today and there is a way through the state univ system to watch it CC. Hopefully, HRH can figure that out. I believe ddolder's entire family is attending and will spend the night with her dsisil.

LadyM I've been meaning to ask if your DS is totally finished with his high school homeschooling? His employers sound amazing!!

Respite day is over. Other than the driving, it was an enjoyable day. I was stuck in traffic most of the way there and back. There is construction going on that is on the highway and it would take longer to go on local roads. Even though the drive home took less than an hour, it was just stressful to be in traffic.

Dh isn't hungry yet.

Well rats, just lost a long post and can't get it back. Short and long is that I had a good workout and need a shower.

DD14 is now the official owner of a debit card & checking account with her name (and mine). She is BEYOND thrilled in this baby step into adulting world.

DD14 will be staying with DD49 over the next 3 days while she works. I have left it up to DD14 if she wants to stay there longer. DD49 can usually keep it together for a couple weeks at a time so DD14 may stay for several days. DSonIL is in Australia until June so it will just be the two of them......and 3 dogs. We will take it one day at a time and see how it goes. DD14 knows she can call me day or night to be picked up.

Homeschool is officially closed. Done! final! Never to be reopened. I am giving away all our schoolbooks and canceling the subscriptions & enrollments at the various online learning institutions that we used. I’m very thankful that homeschooling was an option for DS17, but I’m even more grateful that DD14 is thriving in public school.

DS17 boots saga continues....
The company bought his muck boots but the boots were size 14 narrow. He tried to wear them so he could return to work but the boots quickly become too painful to continue. The office lady continues to make phone calls expanding the search for boots. DS17 may not be able to work until his safety boots that are on order arrive next week.

And big congrats to dd14 for her entrance to the world of work and finance! That's neat that she is writing herself a letter a day.
AND -- congratulations to YOU and ds for completing all the homeschooling plans. You deserve a retirement party!!! (I'm seeing on FB several retirement parties today at our local schools. A couple of my former students are retiring. (Nothing ages you like seeing your students retiring from education!)
Yes -- brag all you want! It is my hope that when the NokBox is completed, I will be better organized so far as these things go. As I said, I may feel disloyal to dh when I start disassembling HIS methods, but y'all... he had a file labeled "phone numbers and receipts." Just about ANYTHING might be found in that file folder!

Re: my own finances, dgs asked for frozen lasagna when I got up this morning -- no eating out -- and he said he preferred food from home and suggested we do roast or taco soup next time he spends the night. (His sister, OTOH, barely considers it food if it doesn't come from a restaurant.) I think I will get a Wmart order together for tomorrow and get the fixings for both of dgs' requests.

I guess I have been thinking. I certainly haven't been DOING. However, I did follow LadyM's advice re: tiny steps -- instead of "vacuum the house," switching to "get vacuum cleaner out of closet." The vacuum cleaner is now in my bedroom, and I do plan to work in there before my day is over.
I have also been sitting in the carport, on the chaise lounge I took from dinlaws' house, and I was thoroughly enjoying that. It was raining some, and I just felt so nice, sitting there listening to it and watching it across the field behind my house. Buying cushions for those two pieces of lawn furniture was one of the best purchases I have made. I also swept that part of the carport before I came inside. I'd probably still be out there, but my phone battery dying. That was a good excuse to stop scrolling and get busy.

I've talked to dmom on the phone, and talked to ds for a while when I took dgs home. Went to the post office.

Cathy, there is nothing so tiring as being stuck in that stop and go traffic when the highway seems like a parking lot! That is why we always left early when we went to College Town on Fridays. Even the interstate would be horrible at the time we would hit the big city, especially if we got there at the time people were getting off work. Same when dh had doctor's appts at another big city in our area.

Harriet, will WonderBoy be your second to start college? BTW -- did you see Eric Church's graduation speech? (Was he at the right school for your loyalties? I never remember which of your state big three you cheer for. I need to make a note to myself!) Anyway -- I don't know much about Eric Church; I think he may have been a special guest at some of George Strait's concerts -- but that was a really good speech. I would highly recommend any of you to look it up on YouTube or Google. Eric Church -- University of North Carolina graduation speech.

Mystery, talking about ballgames -- and y'all forgive me if I already told this -- but our high school softball team won the state tournament yesterday! First time ever for our softball team, and my cousin's wife is an assistant coach. DGS and I just tried to keep up with it via FB, but it was pretty exciting. They had to win three games and the same girl pitched all three games -- 20 and 2/3 innings. I don't know any of the girls playing, but since dgd has gotten so interested in softball, I am trying to follow more closely.
Oh -- and dgs and I watched some of the SEC baseball tournament, and were happy to see Auburn beat LSU last night also.

I had leftover frozen pizza for lunch, but I'm hungry again and I'm not really impressed with anything I have here at home. Chicken noodle soup? I don't know. I may have to take myself out for something.

lucylee, I believe you are speaking of UNC-Chapel Hill, where my niece and many of my cousins, second cousins, etc., are alums, but none of my children/grands.

I am all snuffled up watching the graduation so many kids, 300 in the class. Pomp, circumstance, heart-tugs. WonderBoy is our second grandchild to graduate, yes, DangerBoy being a rising Junior now, at state univ where this graduation is being held and where his mother and father both attended, dd for post-grad.

Either big brother or Mom got a perfect aisle seat and a great photo (like, "call Hollywood" great) of WonderBoy during the march. Dd also sent a photo of the printed program, and he has 4 notations behind his name - no idea what they mean since she didn't send that part. The young woman speaking now has 5 behind her name. Anyway, frustrated that I can't figure out how to access a photo texted to my phone. I was able to send on to ds' phone. Dsonil is screen-shotting at their house like HRH here, so not really missing anything except what ddolder is trying to send.

Later - oh, he was in top ten, so extra doings. So happy for him - kept it a secret. They did the toddler/now photos with chosen quotes. Toddler one in front of my henhouse, lol - good barn red background. Now photo comedic, so his grandfather is shaking his head, but it's perfect.
