Dh and I are just about to drive down to Niagara Falls to get some meat and freshly baked bread or buns. We might even drive past the brink of the falls on our way to our favourite Italian bakery.

After that, we plan on going to Walmart.

I ran the dishwasher early this morning. I even washed the pots from yesterday. There is still a sheet pan that needs to be done. Of course there are also litter boxes later. Dh is almost ready to leave.

Good morning

Cathy - Thank you for the start today. Enjoy your adventures with DH at NF.

I am going to focus on the little things that bring me joy.
Inconsequential small things.
Seemingly insignificant choices
The little spontaneous things that bring instant comfort, relief, or a smile
How many can I notice today?

1 - Giving myself 15 minutes to weigh, take shower, brush teeth, & get dressed. I only needed 8 minutes.
2 - Walking in the garden without being dive bombed by the mockingbird parents.
3 - Hearing DH cough. He is okay (sleeping) I don't need to check on him.
4 - Mowing for exercise with the result of racking up steps AND seeing crisp cut grass.
5 - Feeling something hit my head (wondering if the mockingbirds are starting again) then realizing it is rain drops. Much needed rain!
6 - The smell of cut grass and rain is sweet and clean.
7 - DS17 woke up by himself. He woke up 30 minutes earlier than normal and is eager to get to work.
8 - Relaxing in the recliner. Feet up and sipping a cup of favorite coffee
9. Visiting the SHE forum and CUOP
10. Pineapple eaten before expiration date. RTBE spreadsheet updated
11. 3rd hour movement accomplished. I do love to mow by doing one segment of the yard at a time.
12. Driving school for DD14 researched, discussed in family group text and date selected.
13. Discussion ongoing about DD14 birthday celebration on Friday.
14. Sliced crisp apple for DH as snack.

Ty 4 the start today Kathys.
53* 77* F today's temp. range a bit chilly.
I've been doing coffee journaling
took out some donations & put them into the shed for my anti P. task today.
It's a relief to have that accomplished.
It also helped with the step count for the 1st part of my day.
Moved old towels.

Writing is OMM .
Might try that later on the deck if / when it warms up and dries off some.

Waving to every one today.
It's cold out here and I"m waiting a bit for more outside stuff.

We've walked one mi.
-----
Thawing out meat for meals.
Have been debarking a branch aka whittling.
I have it about 98% there its good enough for now.
Not sure what I'll do with it might go in the plant cage.
It was warmer outside & too wet to mow so that is what I did
while waiting on lunch to thaw and I was not hungry yet any way.

Running through and waving — lost a post because my phone and the website don’t quite get along. Was posting while waiting for blood draw (thyroid — no big deal). That was quick once they called me back.

Started revamping my to-do list yesterday; need to finish doing that today. Hope you are all having a good day!

We are home from doing a huge shopping trip which included freshly made sandwiches at the bakery. The sliced meat is over an inch thick.

I think we have enough meat for a month. Lots of fruit as well as stocking up on some veggies like onions and carrots. Bread and buns to fill the freezer where I keep all the bread and buns. I also picked up hamburger and hot dog buns.

I think the only thing on the list that we couldn't find was some Aleve for dh. We also got soda at Walmart.

Truck is unloaded. I'm exhausted and dh is planted firmly on the couch. I still need to get some stuff into the freezers.

The helicopters were all up in the air for their flights over the falls and up and down the Niagara river. There was also a massive balloon over the Rainbow Bridge. Most likely a new thing to entice the tourists to spend money.

I stopped writing down each little thing that brought me joy. It became enough to just experience them and move on to the next.
I started today feeling overwhelmed and slightly depressed. Those emotions resulted in thinking that I needed to 'take a day off". Instead of letting myself sink into despair and despondency, I made a conscious effort to appreciate the many blessings I have, both big and small. The difficulties still exist, but they seem to have lessened as I intentionally turn my focus onto other things.

DD14 doesn't want to do anything for her birthday. No trip, no shopping, no gifts, no eating out. She wants to work on her birthday and then be allowed to go home and be with her friends (online). REally!?!
