Hi, all. It feels so good to wake up with no pressure to scramble for anything.

I am meeting one of my bffs for dinner at a restaurant very close to my apartment late this afternoon. After that, it is my other bff's stitch n bitch a short drive in the other direction. In the meantime, I must take everything out of the box to ensure that it's not missing any pieces, and shower/wash hair so that I am fit to be seen in public. Beyond that, take Germane outside and clean everything in sight as much as possible. That will keep me out of mischief.
Germane has had her heart pill and we are waiting for the hour waiting period to be over, so that we can sample her slow cooker. I filled the big one with turkey legs, potatoes and vegetables, and there will be plenty of broth to soak rice for her as well.
Ice cream is a particularly tasty way to combat the heat, Kittykatt.
I'm sorry that you also have the excessive heat, and for no word on the new job, FrenchFly.
Thank you, FrenchFly, helia and kitkat. I know that it's a little thing to receive a parcel, but it feels like freedom.
That's an early start for a not-fun reason, L.Ann. I hope that the plumber came promptly and solved the problem.
Congratulations to your dd, helia.

I hope that your sub class goes well.
I think that we are weather twins, kitkat. I'm not worried about taking Germane out in the heat as I carry her over the hot pavement and set her down in the shade here and there. Very different from walking a young Labrador!
Lauralind, I'm sorry to hear about your health problems.
Don't hold your breath on the chair assembly. You don't know how really bad I am at this stuff. It once took me three days to get a babygate installed for my dogs. I would still be trying to drill into the very hard hardwood of railings' frame if it were not for a coworker gently explaining to me that drills have a reverse as well as forward and that I might check that the button is not next to "R".
Ah, I see that the plumber has come, L.Ann.
Welcome back, Bama. You have a lot on your plate! Your dds are so grown up now. It's hard to wrap my head around. I hope that your DH is able to take some part of the load soon. I'm picturing physio exercises along the lines of "Now we stretch up, up, up and run that dust rag over the top shelf, gradually release and wipe the next shelf", Now we are going to put our hand on that furniture for support and bend aaaalll the way down and scoop that cat litter."
