Isn't it always the way, especially with a "Monday-was-a-holiday" week.
You suddenly realize you are looking at the mid-week moment in your rear-view mirror. How did that happen?
Tomorrow sort of starts the weekend! (well, sort of)
Thursday to the rescue!
Thursday can be a redeeming day, the catch-me-up day, a day for thinking, "Now, what am I forgetting?"
Thursday pulls us up by our apron strings and reminds, "There was something you meant to do."
That's Thursday for ya.
How are you going to use your Thursday to your benefit?
That's Thursday For Ya

Re: That's Thursday For Ya
Thank you starting us off on this Thursday morning Harriet.
Dh and I didn't get really close enough to the balloon, but I'm almost certain it was a hot air balloon. There was a "basket" looking part underneath. With NF being the type of place it's been for decades, it's most likely something to get tourists to spend money on. I'm going to do further research on this because it looks like something new.
I never let the cats out before 7, and it's compost and recycling day, so I need to go and deal with that.

Re: That's Thursday For Ya
Good morning, dear friends.
Cathy, recycling for us was yesterday and it was mostly well done. It only comes once every 2 weeks and I am seldom convinced we've handled it as well as we should have. I look around later and ask myself why I didn't think of this or that.
Today is Desk Day for me. A cardfile and household notebook tweaking day after I get the usual DD stuff done.
Getting some OMM hard-copy organization up to date.

- * To-Dos topics categories for brain dump: household, health, projects, etc.
* Round Robin of 6 rooms' OMMs
* trying hard-copy Daily Dozens for a while
* physical grocery list on a reminder-type form for a while
* tweaking daily routines card
* tweaking an old calendar of daily exercise

$60 USD for adults and $55 USD for children between 3 - 10. Under 2 years old is free. Tethered hot air balloon ride takes 15 minutes including assent and descent. This goes up to 500 feet. This is on the American side of the gorge.

Re: That's Thursday For Ya
Good morning
Another night of teenager antics. I won't miss this part of raising teens. 5 of them were cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on a charcoal grill when I went to bed at 9:30pm last night. They weren't loud but there is always chatter & high energy level when teens gather.
I have a new appreciation for the calmness that being in the garden gives me with no mockingbird parents claiming their territory. This morning I wandered through the garden beds while harvesting asparagus, strawberries, and peppers without being dive bombed. Nice!
My project of the day is selected = go get two vehicle tags renewed (yearly task). It will include a 14 mile drive to the nearest tag agency office.
Ground beef, chicken thighs and ham slices are thawing. I will cook them later today.
I am debating with myself whether I want to make velvetta & rotel queso type dish. I have a love/hate relationship with it because it tastes so good that it is easy to eat more than a portion. It is not healthy dish and provides minimum to the micronutrient goals...but it tastes so good. Decisions...decisions. When I think of this dish, this phrase comes to mind..... A minute in the mouth, an hour in the stomach, a lifetime on the hips.

Re: That's Thursday For Ya
Good morning! Despite a late start, I am here earlier than usual. It may be because I no longer have Colbert to watch while I eat breakfast, although I did listen to a chapter of this month's book club book. I couldn't get hold of a hard copy easily, and the ebook was out, so I'm left to this. I find it very annoying. I quite enjoy the book, and it's read well, but if I were reading it myself, I'd be done by now. As it is, I'm worried I won't get through it by the time we meet on Sunday.
Anyhow...
I am glad that I won't be spending $60 on 15 minutes of ballooning, Cathy.
I finished my organization of cards and to-do list yesterday, Harriet, but I should have put a Desk Day for filing in there. The to-be-filed stack is getting rather tall.
Waving hello to blessed!
LadyM, I hear you about the temptation. Some Fridays ago, DH and DD had gone to the hockey game, while I went to see DC's play. For dinner, I was planning to have a grilled cheese from the gas station/fast food. Well, they had added a mac and cheese to the menu, and you could doctor it up in various ways, so I did that. Yummy! A few Fridays later, I was again left to my own devices for dinner, and I decided to doctor up a box of Kraft with some extra cheese and sriracha. Even yummier -- and definitely not good for me.
I wonder where Nancy is this morning -- she's usually here by now.
My tummy is unhappy at the moment. My refill of Wegovy finally came yesterday, and we've gone up a dose. I think things are moving sluggishly enough that my guts are not quite sure what to do with breakfast. Ah, well. We shall see. I'm hoping that's all it is. When the package finally arrived, the exterior packaging was sealed, with no easy way it could have been opened and resealed, but the box inside had its lid torn clean off. Between the sealed package, though, the tracking number that showed the package had been through the wringer, and the fact that the box itself looked like someone had stepped on it, I decided this wasn't a case of tampering.
I should put in an order at Target today. I was also planning a trip to the drugstore, but those items should easily be added to the Target list. Other than that, no big plans.
Oh, well, tummy or no, I need to get my rear in gear. I'm going to go start a load of wash. I think I will stay down there and babysit it and listen to my audiobook. I had to restart the last load three times. It will just randomly stop mid-cycle. At some point, we need to either call a repairman or get a new washer. (Or, likely, call a repairman and get a new washer once he looks it over and declares it cheaper to replace than to fix.) The thing is 20 years old at least -- we got it shortly after moving in here.
Have a great day, everybody!

Re: That's Thursday For Ya
CI / I was out in the garden for 20 min. 1st thing.
Then jo & qt on the deck.
And walked
also proofed off to the grocery store to restock by 7:00 while it was still cool out.
Got subway take out flat bread for one meal today.
Food is put away now for the most part.
Not sure what's next...
change in to gardening clothes I suppose.
Glad I had a new shirt to wear today.
