Good morning

Blessedw2 - thank you for starting our PWYC village today.

I was outside first thing this morning which fills my energy bucket and brings me joy. Breathing in the fresh air, watching the sunrise, and enjoying nature while strolling and tinkering in the garden is my favorite way to start the day.

Project of the day = shopping trip to restock staples. I am setting a goal to be able to accomplish it in 2 hours. One hour of driving and one hour of shopping.

Rainy day here, but not complaining cause we need it.

It’s laundry day here. Was up early… first to take Amelia out to do her business …she only stays in the yard as she’s too small for a harness…1.4 lbs at the moment. She’s on the eat, play and nap schedule

Then I took Coco for her morning walk. The mosquitos are so bad they swarm around both of us. Yesterday I had to put my hood up and keep my hands inside my sleeves because they are impossible to get away from. At night I wear a long sleeved shirt and long pants as well.

The sidewalks are so hot during the middle of the day that we walk Coco around the house in the grass so she doesn’t burn here feet.

The French Open is on now so Sweetie and I are enjoying watching it.

Rest is my days are the same with not much exciting going on. My stitches are finally out so I’m hoping for a beach day soon. Justina is able to stay with Sweetie so I am just waiting for my beach buddies stitches .. mohs surgery as well… to heal.

some new ones ready to go in for the new one.
Raining here today also not complaining.
Took ddoggo out to Pee.
Inside stuff duds etc. OMM./

Duds to wash are downstairs.

Other basement tasks happened walk about.
Started sheets in washer.
Brought up pizza for meals later on today.
Brought up hand full of things to shred from yesterday's searching.
Found some doc. I've been looking for. Others might help ~ hopeful.

Knit a bit got to new color yea!
rebooted the washer twins.
Next more journals.

Set the DVR for a show I hate to miss.
Did up dishes and spiffed more of the counter.
Folded more clothes dryer is done for a while.
Sun is trying to peek out it's somewhat warmer.
books in the living room seem to be under control for now, so that helps.

Hi everybody!

I decided that getting to the stores early would work well for me. I checked opening times for Chapters, Costco and Walmart. Chapters opened at 10 and the other 2 were already open. I also stopped at the garden center to get more beefsteak tomatoes. Then it was off to Walmart and then Costco and Chapters is across the parking lot. I ended up getting to Chapters at 10:02. How's that for planning my route and my day?

Now I am home and having something to eat. I just need to take out meat for supper tonight. Dh wants Lo Mein.

Success! I meet my goal of shopping in under 2 hours. That included filling up vehicle with gas and getting frozen yogurt treats. Everything is unloaded and put away. We brought home about 30 lbs of meat which I've started cooking. The instant pot is loaded and accomplishing that this afternoon.

The store was packed. The parking lot was full of Comanche & Kiowa Indian tribe vehicle tags so i can only assume they received a semi-annual payout recently that had many members shopping. I always admire how well they treat their elders and I saw that respect in action today.

Our temp is 96F but I went looking for the feel like number (98f). I expected it to be over 100 because it feels HOT. Tomorrow is predicted to be 99F so I expect the feels like number will be over 100. Getting used to the heat each year is always a challenge, then it just becomes normal.

I've napped it was needed.
Took a stroll around the yard to see if the seeds were up yet ... nope.
I have corn bread baking now.

Worked on getting my books and journal / planner stack more manageable.
Some are put away reset others under consideration.
Did some art in a Bu-Jo.

Sheets are put away.
Duds are folded.
Chilly here today had to put on a thicker over shirt.
Glad I'm not camping jus - sayin' .

Wrangled the last of the books & journals piled on the table
into out of the way storage looks so much better yea!
Got my steps in for the most part the rest will come with my activities the rest of the day.

Ramblin', it's cheery to hear about little Amelia, and to hear your stitches are out. Dd27 found ferret walker-harnesses once when she was fostering and caring for a ferret. As I recall, truly made for a smaller animal than the smallest dog ones - she gave up on them because of the agility of the critter, not because they didn't fit or work correctly. Quite small harnesses - just wondering if they might be made the same way. No idea, really. Maybe Amelia is a little too small for the wide world even if something fit. (feeling protective now, lol)

HRH and I have been doing a big declutter push through the den and his office.

Then I cleaned through the den while he swept up in his office.

I want so much to post, but ... .. interuption ... .. sigh bbl

We went on an impromptu tour of lifelong friend garden and green house. Tommy is the most knowledgeable & experienced gardener that I know. We discussed our frustrations with finding soil/compost that doesn't have chemicals in it. It takes at least 3 years to recover if we accidently add soil or compost that has been previously exposed to those chemicals. I don't know of any commercial soil/compost that doesn't have it. The cannabis growers are experts at growing in controlled conditions without pesticides & herbicides. My question remains... where do they get their chemical free soil/compost?

Watermelon has been cut up and put into easily eaten containers. I put the watermelon rind in the compost while wondering if that is wise. it was grown in Texas but didn't say organic so what chemicals will that rind add to the compost? Ugh. it is a never ending quest that doesn't seem likely to ever be solve.

First round of meat is cooked and I'm please how it came out. I'm letting it cool and then will package into portion size servings. My future self will be able to easily prepare tasty & high protein meals.

I’ll ask my brother if he makes live soil compost or if he knows other places to buy it. He is a self/taught master gardener know for his tomatoes and grows all his garden plants in his basement during the winter and plants them on every Mothers Day.
