Good afternoon
I've been up for hours with one thing after another happening. All of the happening has been good, so I'm counting the morning hours as a WIN!
Lifelong DFriend Gary came over to sit and chat with DH in his outdoor sitting area. They talked for over 3 hours! I felt like it was a gift to me to not need to monitor DH. I used that time to deep clean some areas. It might sound dumb to use that alone time to clean, but it is something that felt mindless & smoothing to me. I could just focus on one thing (deep cleaning) without needing to stop every few minutes and check on DH.
DS17 sold the 1949 fire truck he purchased to restore. DS17 was thrilled because after he bought this old fire truck, he discovered it wasn't a project that inspired him. Bonus .... he sold it for double what he paid. The buyers drove 4 hours to load it up on a trailer and paid in cash. So, our driveway has been rather busy this morning with 3 strangers using winches, come alongs and tie downs to get that heavy fire truck loaded onto their trailer.
On DS17 lunch hour, he took the profit and immediately bought another project pickup. OF COURSE HE DID. This one is a 2012 Duramax dually which is a vehicle that does inspire DS17.
I recently asked DS17...."How many pickups do you need?"
His reply "One for every day of the week"
One day he will be more concerned about paying for a place to live, utilities, food, and diapers.
But for now, he has a few more weeks of being a minor. His teenage financial priorities are....
1 - whatever GF16 needs/wants
2 - gas to drive as much as they want
3 - diesel dually vehicles to take apart and put back together with friends.
I've cooked several dishes this morning so probably won't need to cook again today. I do need to get some meat out to start thawing so it will be ready to use tomorrow.

Ty MysteryW for the kudos!
LM I enjoy reading about your day!
I did a bit of knitting while waiting on water to be done & trash pick up to happen.
Processed mail.
Rebooted the trash can emptied out a couple of smaller ones in the meat time.
Made progress on getting 1/4 th of the utility trailer emptied out. It's So
good to see that I"m making progress. Not to mention the other piles in the back yard tucked away
out of eye sight that will need to be delt with.
DD that was going to help had been I'll, said she could come this week no show so I plug along.
Grateful for what I can do on my own a bit at a time how ever slowly it's still progress.
Bonus saw a PR. of quail go in to my flower bed. They may have a nest there the doggo is very interested in that area.
Crew is putting on the shingles today two houses down from me.
Oh yes I've had lunch.

Re: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
I have been out to the garden to deal with more weeds. I can be close to the house and dh knows where I am. I am being productive. The garden boxes I have done look so good. I don't know if I will be able to do it in the heat of summer, but right now it's nice to get outside and be by myself. Thanks for the inspiration LadyM!
I told dh last night that I wanted to make an easy supper tonight. He knew I had frozen meals outside, so he said he would have his General Tao so I will have butter chicken.
There is a baseball game tonight.
I really wanted to stay at home today because I have 2 things to deal with out of the house tomorrow, plus I might take myself out for lunch seeing as how it's less than 500 feet away from the entrance to the highway to get home from the book sale.

Re: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
Today we had heavy showers with sun in between. We've definitely lost that heatwave! I worked in my front garden this morning, pulling out some Campanula and creeping Jenny that have got into places I don't want them, and topping up the bark path.
This afternoon was housework, cleaning the hall, stairs and sitting room. And I managed some paperwork. Relaxing now, with Matilda on my lap.

Cathy, you Kittykatt and Nancy are inspiring, too. I've said, in Nancy's garden topic I think, that I'm gardening vicariously through others here, with a minimized but happy season.
Twins' also - my first year with a geranium (count 'em, one), because HRH liked a two-color one, which he felt was money saving (????). I didn't know what to say to that - so now we have it. Am I supposed to be fertilizing it a lot, Twins'? It seems okay, with buds. Others around it are heavy feeders... ..
lol, LadyM, I guess it was the "fire truck" words in your post that got me thinking about one of ds' biggest responsibilities in the dept, giving life lectures to the young recruits (older recruits have to sit through it, but he slants it to 20-year-olds). A big part is salary, benefits, retirement plan and "matching", and a huge emphasis on their personal saving for marriage/home, "the spouse" who some of these firefighters have yet to meet. He gives his very animated specialty, he says, of "Why you do not go out and buy a new truck just because you become a firefighter", and uses his own personal mistakes as a cautionary tale!
Yipes, Mystery, so sorry for your friend and hope that mishap is over soon. You can tell your dc that I gauge screen-time by whether I smile. And if I actually laugh, yep, I'll go back to that more often. However, bubble tea in a poncho? Ooooookay.
TaDa sharing - He called here after getting dgs home from school and asked if I had dish soap. Dgs came and we poured half from my nearly-full bottle into the one ds sent. Their's was one of the foaming type bottles - will my plain type work in that dispenser?
TaDa clean up - We've had trash day doin's around here today. I had hoped HRH would get the vacuum cleaned out ahead of that, but it's okay that he didn't. Another thing I'm not supposed to do myself, yada, yada, yada. (I know, I'm really appreciative of med folk, just impatient.)
TaDa garden - Fertilized the garden beds. It had actually rained through the night, but not excessively.
Ramblin', such a good report that you have found someone so reliable and sensible to give some help at times.
LadyM, good job using the hours in a way that makes your life run smoothly later.
Hoping blessed can hear us advising her through her days - I can hear you, blessed, wisdoms galore.

Re: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
I napped then got up did a walk about in the back yard there are grasses I've pulled that need picked up. Done.
I went back and got the pitchfork and moved the two piles of suckers I pruned off the big maple tree earler.
More hydration is happening.
Mostly sunny here but some big clouds I"m sure the roofers down the street are grateful for.
Birds are happy I refilled the waterers yesterday.
More slugs than usual this year.
Neighbor is putting in her flowers and said she loves every minute of it,
but wants a nap too. LOL!
Did up the dishes and got them put away also.
Planted some seeds hoping they grow and climb up the arbors in the back yd. by the gates and bloom.

Waving to lucylee!
Started broccoli sprouts.
Trying to get in bed before midnight and have done smart evening routines. Maybe a good night's sleep, let's hope.

Re: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
I actually have some ta-das!!! I know -- I'm as surprised as you all are!
DS came by and took dgd home around 11:00 this morning -- he helped the pastor get some stuff to a donation site (stuff she doesn't want to move to her next home) and then he took dgd to get sized for her volleyball shirt and choose her number. She wants to be 67 again, as she was in softball. This 6-7 craze/fad/whatever it is is so crazy. If it has not affected the young children in your part of the world, be glad. I know the teachers were glad to be rid of these kids!
I did take her out for breakfast and got the paper while we were out. I told dmom, these kids go through groceries like a plague of locusts. I may have already told y'all that. I am out of everything! I will have a big pick-up order from Wmart tomorrow, but I plan to have plenty for them to snack on so they won't claim they are starving over the next 10 days that I expect to have one or both of them here.
After they left, I just sat down in my patio chair, in the carport where there was shade, but I could feel such a nice breeze, and the birds were chirping * but NOT dive-bombing on my head, thank goodness! * and I just sat there for an hour or more. I may have dozed off. It was the most relaxed, pleasant feeling I have had since I don't know when. That was my first * ta-da * just some quiet time for me.
After that, I went inside and
* did my Bible reading, read the paper
* emptied and refilled the dishwasher, tidied the kitchen
* continued laundry, which is all folded and/or hanging to dry now
* called dfriend but he was not home (Saturday was the anniversary of his wife's death) * I need some way to identify him, rather than saying, dfriend who is father of his estranged daughter and best friend of OG. I will refer to him now as dfriendBC.
* started trying to track spending, month by month, to see what is coming up -- those periodic things like insurance and tags and property tax, etc. I've tried to do this before, but never managed to get it all on one sheet. I'll probably be forced to put this on the computer eventually, but right now, I have six months on two sheets of notebook paper and I can do it while sitting on the couch watching tv. I have all the major bills on one sheet and the non-essentials on another page. I'll have to go through my credit card statements if I really want to track the groceries I order through the app and the A-river spending, etc.
* talked to dsisil on the phone
* ordered supper from steak house and went to pick it up, ate
* walked away the pounds 15 minutes
I am going to make a Wmart order for tomorrow, and then get my shower and go to bed. Yes, it is 11:00 pm, and yes, I have to get up by 8:30 at least. DGS has to be picked up at football around 9:00 a.m.
Sigh... I wish I had the salesmanship that your ds has, LadyM. My money worries would be over!
Waving to all of you -- Harriet knew I'd be in soon! LOL!
Tomorrow -- who knows? I think I am skipping yoga again, because even though I could leave dgs here at home while I went to it, I don't really want to do that. I may change my mind, depending on what time I get him home and settled. I know he will be hungry after football. I have to go to the church to sign some checks, and then I will schedule the Wmart pick-up after yoga -- to give myself some flexibility on that decision. DGD's eye appointment is in Big City, so she will not be here till some time after lunch.
