From https://nationaldaycalendar.com/celebra ... day-june-3Benefits of Repeating
Repetition is a great way to learn new things and is often referred to as, “the mother of all learning.” Practicing repetition allows a conscious skill to transfer into the subconscious. When we do the same thing over and over again, it can become second nature to us so that we no longer have to think as hard when we do it. Of course there are some people that have natural talent at certain things. But in order to become better at something it takes a lot of practice.

so funny - I didn't know there was a national repeat day! thank you d twins - I have always loved watching children repeat activities and then build on that learning! (unless I am reading a child's book 150 times - exaggeration - maybe????lol)

Re: Repeat those Routines Wednesday PWYC
Awesome start to our day! Even the shampoo bottles tell you to repeat. (Lather, rinse, repeat) Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!!
A more unique day here. Dh has to fast before his 11 a.m. bloodwork. I don't have to make him coffee this morning. At least not until we get home and by then he won't want it. I had my tea while he was sleeping. I've also been out to the garden once already.
After we get home from the bloodwork for dh I am going to Canada's largest book sale. They have even extended it by a day to make it longer. It's held in an arena and the entire playing surface is covered in tables. Every table is covered with tomato boxes with all the books lined up with their spines up. They try to keep the fiction alphabetical. Under the table are just as many tomato boxes filled the same way. I think I might take dh's walker as they don't have a lot of seating available. I am still working on my wish list. $3 per book for most books. Vintage books cost more, including the blue Nancy Drews and Little Golden Books.
Right now I'm really hungry and I will not eat in front of dh because I know he's hungry. He has already asked me to confirm his appointment time twice.

Morning…
Up early to do puppy care … a walk for each. Had coffee and made breakfast for the pups.
Did footprint pickup before I went to bed. Took Sweetie for his blood work came home and made his breakfast and then we took both pups for their maiden walk together.
That went fairly well with both pups walk up two blocks and then home again.
I see Josh in a while to work on my shoulder and then home to pay bills. Going to get my nails done later this afternoon.
My bed is still unmade…that seldom happens. And it’s suppose to rain off and on all day.

Re: Repeat those Routines Wednesday PWYC
I wish I could find my last from yesterday I need it to finish it aka repeat.
Like bathrooms need attn.
I have done a bit of a walk about in the back yard while I moved hose and lawn furniture to get ready to mow
when it dries off. Mowed & cleaned under mower & charged up the battery.
Walked doggo.
Had coffee & journaled on the deck.
Found my list.
Waving to all.

You know, I think my dmother knew or maybe quoted, that saying/axiom. Anyway, she was taught in college (for Early Childhood Education) that repetition is the most certain way of learning. She put repetition right up there on the First Grade Pedestal with phonics
. And that's high, lol.
When I repetitively make my bed, Ramblin', I think of DeeClutter's firm belief in that. When I repetitively wait for a while to make my bed, so it can cool from body warmth, I think of our conversations here regarding that ROUTINE - how we don't want to make life easy for dustmites. lol.
Nancy, I hope you find it, but you can probably do a pretty good job of recreating it and knowing what's up next. Losing forms happens to me and is the only reason I don't like forms for routines, cleaning, etc. (Still using them this week, though, to be different.) They can be so helpful and visual, but they can also get away from you and be misplaced, unlike a planner or cardfile. P and P recommended clipboards.
Well, better look at my own forms I am using this week and see what I can check off today.
Need to remember my broccoli seeds soaking for sprouts
Books in bedroom need to be corraled
HRH needs to be nagged about the vacuum again, sigh
And then I can use it!

Re: Repeat those Routines Wednesday PWYC
Good morning! I've been repeating my way through my cards, I guess. Had the hardest time getting up this morning. Not sure why -- whether because of the hour I got to bed or because I did not put my CPAP back on after getting up to use the bathroom. Anyhow, I do seem to have made up some time. I've got a repeating alarm set to remind me of my step count -- yesterday's was horrible. Just got another call from the Red Cross -- once DC is up, I should make appointments for next week. They are headed out of town this weekend -- off to Harriet's neck of the woods -- to meet an online friend. I am more comfortable with it than some moms would be because I have all of you! Besides, they're an adult.
Nothing much on the agenda today. I should thin my flower sprouts some more -- they're starting to put out actual leaves, not just the cotyledons.
Kind of envying Cathy going to the book sale until I remind myself that I don't currently have space for more books, and I need to weed out the ones I have.
Nice to have that puppy walk with Sweetie, Rose!
My bed's well cooled by the time I make it, Harriet, because I do that after showering and dressing, but I don't throw back the covers to air it out like my grandmother did. (Unless I have to tuck my sheet back in again at the bottom -- I'm notorious for pulling it up too far.)
Waving hello also to Twins, blessed, Nancy, and all who come later!

Re: Repeat those Routines Wednesday PWYC
Good morning
When I saw the PWYC title this morning, I immediately wondered "How does she know I am struggling being consistent with repeating those routines?"
I have good days when I'm following the cards all day. And then there are other days when life gets busy and I realize the next day that I completely blanked on following the cards.
The good thing is the cards are good at waiting for me to GMAT and fairly easy to restart again. I remind myself that it isn't all or nothing. Just keep on keeping on.
I started my day outside. No matter what happens for the rest of the day, that start seems to set my response. I use that time in nature to get centered and reminded of what is important to me.
Breakfast has been cooked, served and enjoyed. Eggs, bacon, bagels were the main ingredients.

Harriet … it’s hard to make my bed when I first get up because Sweetie is still in it… by the time he gets up and starts his shower I am busy doing other things with my day.
I usually go back and make it, but today with pups needs and getting Sweetie for his blood tests we were rushed. I was up by 6 was able to get all mentioned above and had to get us out of the house by 8
