Lunch has been prepared, served and enjoyed. I ran to the closest store and got some hamburger buns to use. That 30lb of meat I cooked a few days ago is gone.
>>>nodding in agreement with LucyLee<<<< feeding teenagers can put a serious dent in the groceries. It is never ending. Breakfast done. Lunch done. What am I going to prepare for dinner?

Finally! The view I hoped to create in the garden is happening. The zinnias are becoming numerous with their full blooms. I attempted to count how many are blooming and made it to 80 before stopping. I was only about 1/4 of the way through the garden. I'm guessing there are over 300 zinnas blooming with double that not open yet. The bright, beautiful, showy blooms completely steal the eyesight from the other flowers. Giving a nod to the lantanas, begonias, dianthus, marigold, rose moss, sedum, day lilies, and mums that are doing their best and are beautiful in their own way. The garden is not only productive but now with all the flowers blooming it is a beautiful sight to behold (IMHO). Today I harvested strawberries, peppers and tomatoes. #MyHappyPlace
Full disclosure - the garden is not a magazine show place. it has been built by my own two hands one concrete block at a time. I recognize it is my happy place because every inch of it has been created by my own sweat equity. I can enjoy the garden because it is my place of solitude. If I invited others, then I would have feedback to what they think. I don't seek their input whether it is criticism or praise.

LM do any of the teens know how to grill a burger?

I've made my go fav. lunch with some extra for later.
A sausage egg & cheese wrap to eat on the deck!
YUM!

Then put water in the birds "bath" half of a round 1/2 gal. ice cream bucket.
The birds have been living my yard today.
Esp after I mowed.
Was going to water but t-storms this afternoon a possibility so decided to wait.
[Might be b/c of the workers two doors down.]

I did some desk duty and it's presentable again now yea!
It's raining now SO glad I've already mowed!
Did some knitting.

I've been out of the house today. I only had body work at 10 a.m. until a friend from out of town checked in with dh about us having lunch today. We were delighted to see him for lunch and went to the restaurant on the river and were able to sit on the shaded porch. It's a lovely day, I think everyone in town had the same plan. Between the body work and lunch I ran next door and let their french bulldogs out to potty and get fresh air - dneighbors should be back today. Their dog sitter was working a full day today so I was able to help out.

After lunch I went to the temple cemetery to see how the construction has progressed - we're building a very small "amphitheatre" there. Also walked the cemetery and refreshed my mind regarding the proposed tree removal and trimming so I need to email re approval of the contract. Then by temple to talk to admin person - she had contact info for nonmembers who want to buy a plot. I need to call her back but will do in the a.m.

Then next door to let dogs out again, and finally, here.

I've been avoiding stuff that needs to happen - so overwhelmed and tired from trip that I didn't even feel like starting a list. DH and I are leaving again two weeks from today for a long-weekend trip, and he is leaving on this Monday to be away until Thursday night. So I have two weeks to "catch up" and have some extra free time.

I need to get a working list going.

I'm home! I bought 25 books. Two books were picked with dh in mind. He's on the bed read "Happy, happy, happy" right now. (By Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty)

I told dh I might just have to lay in bed for the next week and read.

I walked in the door here at 4 o'clock. Turned on the oven and now a meat lasagne is heating up.

Basically 3:30 when I posted earlier, it's now 7:30ish here.

I have:
-worked on a list....
-sent a cemetery board update regarding amphitheatre and tree work.
-did a tiny bit of sorting the stack of papers that I received from the prior cemetery chair, with what he received from the prior chair, who was in the position twenty or so years. Everything is jumbled. Did find the memo where board met and decided to impose an additional $800 "endowment" charge for each grave sold. I was in that meeting but was new on the board and only vaguely remember. The friend who was prez at the time bought plots based on the charges going up, and then they were never enacted....
-did a little research on a weird cemetery situation. We have a receivable for a cemetery plot dating to 2012. (Really?????) We apparently have the individual buried in our cemetery but he's not on the spreadsheet. His wife was supposedly buried there in 1983 and she's on our "cards" but not the spreadsheet. I need to check her obit to see what it says. The guy who is doing the GIS mapping for plots at the cemetery has him there with a ?, but not the wife? Somehow the card that showed her 1983 burial must not have been in the file when I compiled the spreadsheet twenty years ago????
-sent an email re: the HOA phone call today about sidewalks, and the "position" paper that I said I'd read and check sources for later. (Created by A.I.)
-took care of an HOA request for information from closing agent regarding HOA dues
-responded with apologizes to a text last Saturday asking for dd's phone number. DD said okay to give it out.
-sent Facebook message to the son of a congregant friend - he is in NYC for the summer (longer?) and suggested he contact dd

I know there was a bunch of other things....I walked the dog, fed her, played with her. Archived or trashed emails.

Tomorrow a.m. I need to do some prioritizing and merging this list with some others. I think I can look tomorrow in the face now. I only have my 2 p.m. workout tomorrow. So glad this is a quiet week.

Repeat? Repeat?
Y’all. I can’t repeat ANYTHING with dgrands here every day! This summer is so different because of Dgd staying M-W and the fact that she wants so much attention. I need to go back to LadyM’s posts when dd15 was this age — to see how you managed. Of course, even now, I know your days are full of interruptions — what am I talking about?
ALL of you manage constant interruptions and a lot harder situations than I am facing.

I didn’t repeat anything at all today — at least not in any routine order. I like to my devotional reading in the morning, but today I was up and out to get dgs from practice. Tomorrow I will be up early to get Dgd to the day camp. I’m thinking I may try the pot roast crock pot recipe tomorrow night.
Tomorrow is another day.
