Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Good morning
Twins - Thank you for that reminder to focus on one rabbit (or thing).
Today's project is DH socks. it is not quite as simple as it sounds. DH amnesia episodes have resulted in his clothes becoming a puzzle. He doesn't put them in the same place. Sometimes they are under his pillow, sometimes they are with his bath towels, sometimes they are in the rocker and occasionally they are in the drawer where they belong.....but they might be dirty. I've got to set up a location and label it CLEAN SOCKS so hopefully we can get some structure to where his socks are. I will do a search for his socks and wash everything, so I know we are starting fresh.
The laundry bags have worked so well for DD15 and my underwear, I might try it for DH. I think having a laundry bag containing a day of socks/underwear together would make it easier. However, I am getting ahead of myself. I don't have any laundry bags to implement that system today so they need to be ordered. In the meantime, finding all of DH socks and gathering them in one location would be an improvement.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Hi, everyone.
lucylee, I wish there was a thing like a "space cooler" a HVAC company could just bring to the middle of a room in summer, in the way they can help with a space heater in winter, to offer comfort while waiting. I do see (irritating) constant commercials for small ac appliances on both yt and tv, but they have a "too good to be true" quality about them.
LadyM, I hope that laundry plan works out for you.
Focused - trying not to add to my RR so much until most are done. More getting done than suddenly being thought of.
Last night, HRH said, "don't let me sleep past 8", which is a somewhat unusual thing for him to say - I do not like being a decision-maker on that because he is all over the place with his waking time. (Sure enough, he says had a bad dream about trying to take a young Jackie Chan fishing on a small boat, unable to convince him to stay still.)
But he did arise at 8 and has announced that he is taking me to see what new plants they might have at a home imp place.
Yesterday, he had asked if there wasn't anywhere I actually wanted to go close by, not to a pharmacy, grocery, doctor as usual.
I'd said to shop the new arrivals of plants.
He asked, "does this ever stop? Are we ever going to stop needing flowers? Even in January?"
I said in January I would like to go there and shop the seeds.
Also today, second present for dgs arrives, so time to wrap in earnest - this one's large and heavy, a book.
Dishwasher did fine last night without me hovering, time for putaway and spif.
Whittling down the OMMs.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Good morning ladies.
Up on time here I've watered in front picked up one small pile of branches.
I tired out two diff. table clothes to see how the fit on the deck table.
That was fun it's great to have choices!
A larger pile awaits my attn, as does the lawn.
Sheets need folded and put away they should be dry.
Bfast is next.
I've went outside to journal a bit. 50* F. was a bit cool so I just did some not all of that.
I have a meal plan.
I hope to pin PJ.s in the other length I decided on last.
Mowing later on when the dew is off the grass.
My dsis's a/c went out and they are waiting on the guy.
But she has a basement with bed, bathroom , mini fridge , full size freezer;
no cooking but that can be snacked or sandwiches also an outside entrance.
My basement only has furnace, washer & dryer & freezer.
but I've set up a bedside portable toilet for emergencies never used but one time.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Hide and Seek Sock game continues. I looked everywhere I could think of, but I go on the assumption that there are socks hidden to be found later - like a weird treasure game.
The washer is loaded and performing its task. The laundry bags have been ordered and will arrive tomorrow. One baby step at a time in this project.
Some monthly tasks accomplished -
** Add bleach to the aerobic septic system
** Clear around the pump and replace the heavy concrete cover. There were only a few leaves so this was super simple
** Restock toilet paper in the 4 bathrooms.
DH couldn't find the fixodent for his dentures. I just asked him 2 days ago if he had plenty and he said he did. ANYway, this was added to my monthly to-do list to check Fixodent & tablets stock to ensure he has plenty for his dentures.
note to self....I need to do a massive cleanout of DH bathroom shelves & cabinets. Anything that isn't used every day and vital needs to be removed. Otherwise, he might accidently use that tube of Benadryl cream as toothpaste.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Hi everybody.
I was wide awake
at 3 a.m. At 4:30 dh got up to go to the bathroom. He came out of the bathroom and asked if he could have his coffee, so I made him his coffee. At 6 a.m. I gave the cats their treat and I went back to bed. Between 6 a.m. and 9:30 dh took this mornings meds and tomorrow mornings meds. He says he didn't take meds twice and he doesn't know where they went.
This afternoon I will put one day's morning meds into the container. I will just continue to do it that way. I will also keep an eye on his confusion.
After closing the bathroom window for what seems like the 20th time in the past 24 hours I went into the kitchen and told dh he has to stop opening the window in the bathroom. It's something he even was doing in the winter when it was minus 30 unlike today which will "feel like" 30 C. ~sigh~ I hope I'm not sitting here sounding like a broken record.
Other than that, I'm good.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
LadyM… when Sweetie was confused about how to dress, I placed a clean pair of socks, underware and t-shirt by his sink in the morning before he got up.
I also cleaned out his medicine cabinet and the cabinet below his sink with only the things he used daily.
Sweetie is having an off day so I’m staying around. Dr told him he needed to eat ice cream once a week so we will go out later today to do that.

Nancy, how do you keep tablecloths from blowing away outdoors? Do you use clamps? I hope you enjoy the one you pick, plus the sewing for the pocket.
((Hugs)) to those lovingly caring for their households today, making life easier.
Dd27 has messaged her Dad and she and dsonil will be coming to borrow the truck today. They want to pick up some furniture used. Hmmm... .. I don't know that they have room, and I hope they're not just saying yes to ideas that aren't really best for them. No one will ever take anything away from here, even though we are wishing they would.
Well, that trip out was fun, although HOT as could be (my dmother used to say hot as blue blazes) for only a venture outdoors from 9 to 10 a.m. Whew. Lots of walking. The heat index today has a bad warning - they say from 11 to 4. I left irrigation dripping while we were gone.
Found a few fun plants to chat about in the garden topic and also (finally) a pot for the purpose I've been attempting for weeks!

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Harriet keeping table cloths from blowing off the table is my learning curve!
I have not had clips work; so I have a rock and vase with water on herbs in it were handy today.
Have not had wind to test it.
I have walked ddoggo around the block & mowed the main part of the back yard.
FB is working on my PC now but not on my phone some log in glitch oh well..
-----
While I was hydrating I remembered that I needed to clean mower, recharging the battery is still happening, nearly done.
I got the mower cleaned under the deck & put it back away the container for weeds I moved to an out of sight area.
Also the lawn mower box got moved again I need to break it down, if I fill it that will be too much to lift for me.
I've been up for 4+ hrs. & I need a break too.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Lunch is made. I must be in a casserole making mood because this is 2 days in a row that I start to cook something without a plan and gravitate to making a casserole. Today's casserole ingredients were rice, 2 types of beans, rotel, hamburger meat, velvetta and a melting cheese. It is a quick way to have a large dish to hopefully get those empty teenagers full.
Yesterday I made a casserole and purchased 7 meals from the BBQ place. This morning the casserole was gone and only 1/2 of a BBQ brishet sandwich and 1 taco purchased yesterday was left.
I will go to family doctor appt with DS17 in about an hour. Will this be the last doctor appointment I need to go with him? There are 54 days until he turns 18 years old. As long as he is a minor the doctor office requires someone to be with him.
The end of an era is approaching.
Trip down memory lane... I remember when we first got DS17 and he needed medical attention. I got off the airplane with him and had a 100 mile drive in a snow storm to get home. We didn't have bottles, formula, diapers, NOTHING so we stopped at a Walmart on the drive home from the airport and started throwing things into a shopping cart. He was a preemie and we didn't have guardianship papers because we thought he would be returning to DD50. It was a super stressful time trying to keep this tiny preemie alive. We tried several ways to get him medical care and ended up reaching out to a pediatrician that DH went to high school with. He agreed to see DS17 as a family friend (no record made of office visit). I will eternally be grateful to him. The first 3 months we had DS17 he would randomly quit breathing and we would have to thump the bottom of his foot to make him gasp and start breathing again. We held DS17 24/7 for those 3 months and slept in shifts. Stressful? oh yeah.
