The character of Mrs. Tittlemouse was introduced in the 1909 Beatrix Potter book The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies. In her own story, Mrs. Tittlemouse is revealed to be a very tidy wood mouse. Her determination to keep her house clean is put to the test by some untidy uninvited guests.
The story was first presented by Beatrix Potter as a hand-made gift book to Nellie Warne, the youngest daughter of her publisher Harold Warne. At Warne's insistence, Potter replaced some of the creatures encountered by Mrs. Tittlemouse for the published version: an earwig was changed to a beetle, woodlice became the "creepy-crawly people", and a butterfly was substituted for a centipede named Maggie Manylegs. The insects and the spider are notably not humanized but drawn from nature in Potter's illustrations.

Happy Tuesday!
I need to drive my car to the shop this morning, and since it's the opposite directon from the city where I work (and looking for parking at 9:30 am is not something I am willing to attempt in a rental car), I'll be working from home. The timing is not overly convenient, because I have to give a presentation at 1pm, but I will just connect through a video conference.
DH had left for his mother's - due to work duties, he has to be in office tomorrow morning, so he'll stay the night and leave tomorrow very early and drive directly to work. So he will be around Wednesday evening, for a change! (Wednesdays are the worst - what with having to pick up DBD at 6pm and DS at 7:30 pm at the scout meeting point 10 minutes drive away - getting dinner on the table is a nightmare!).
I'll post my list later, now I gotta run!

Good morning Trissie and thank you for starting us off. That SHEM really hits the mark! 
I hope your car is an easy (and cheap!) fix a.d that your presentation goes well - sometimes, modern technology can be a real blessing.
Today is our wedding anniversary. DH says his back is much better, but he can still feel it, and he didn't sleep well last night. So he doesn't really want to do anything today. That's fine with me, the weather's not looking particularly good today, and our lunch voucher will keep (we don't have to book or anything, just turn up), so I shall send him out for a walk again, (gentle movement really does seem to help his back) and use his absence to tackle the housework. Celebrations can wait until later on in the week.

Having coffee with DH. He has fixed the problem with the TV aerial while I was walking Freddie. DH has also announced his intention of clearing out the loft when he retires.How many times have I heard that? Still, we've both agreed it will be cooler up there for him to sort through his stuff then. There's a couple of boxes of photos ( in albums) somewhere up there that I will ask DH to get down when he does get round to this . I think I will also need to look into skip hire! DH has also expressed a desire to bring some of his books down he has stored up there, but he acknowledges we currently have no space for them. I need to have a good look round the house and see if there is anywhere we could possibly squeeze in another bookcase, without it looking like a library or an institution. When MJ comes to fix the wobbly desk after DH retires, I might ask him if he has any ideas about an extra bookcase (or two!).
Freddie is now deciding whether to get on my lap or not. He is somewhat self conscious in front of an audience!

Your hectic Wednesday evenings brought me back memories with Dkids and their multiple extracurriculars...
(I actually remember dozing off while waiting for Dson from Karate class ) Yes, getting dinner on the table IS a challenge.

I have way too many books... but in the last few years, I've been giving them away to my friends. (I'd buy one, read it - pass it on)
