I was relieved to see the many helpful flying bugs, bees, and butterflies in the garden still this morning. The city fogged for mosquitoes last night and I was afraid it would kill the beneficial flying insects. A neighbor asked the city to please not fog/spray our area (we are both on the edge of town limits) because of the wild bees here. These bees are not aggressive AT ALL but are constantly going from flower to flower including the tomato & pepper blooms that allows them to grow vegetables.
I shouldn't say this because it seems I jinx myself.....but I've yet to see a destructive insect in the garden this year. Not a single tomato worm or grasshopper.....yet?

Oh my rose bushes that I bought that said they smelled like the English Roses I found last year, do smell like roses!!! At first we thought they didn't but they do. I was going to try to smuggle in a cutting from England and Propagate it but I have no real idea how to do that but I want those roses. These smell great though so I am happy. I read how and it seems like a lot of trouble.

Hair looks fantastic, she cut off about 3 inches and shaped it and flat ironed it for me.

MS and YS are trying to teach cat not to go down stairs when they let him on patio so decided to squirt him with water when he ventured downstairs. Freaked him out and he tore back up stairs after falling down 4 stairs. Did he learn anything from that adventure? I doubt it. I told them just don't let him outside. He has a catio that he can get fresh air and see 3 sides of outside. MS made it years ago for his cat and it was in my office window since I was working from home, he stayed in it. It is a screened in cube that sticks out of a window with a door entrance on inside. We put a cardboard roof on it to create shade in the heat of the day. He loves it but would rather be out with the herbs.

Nancy - cool sighting of the aircraft. Do you have flowers that bees like? We have a yellow rose bush they flock to.

Watching a great show on PBS if you have a station you can see called Patience. It is about a young woman with Autism that works in a police records room but is found to be great at seeing patterns and things in crime investigations.

There is also a great book and movie that stars Sally Field on Netflix that is about her relationship with an octopus in an aquarium that she works in, it is called Remarkedly Bright Creatures. It is a book and a movie. I got the book on my Unlimited Kindle account but then saw it was a movie.

Lady M, your garden sounds great.

Nancy, do you have forest fires near you?

Must send 2 emails and finish packing and remake my bed with fresh linens for when we come home. Also hang clean towels. Dirty ones are in laundry but may not be dry before we leave but we have spares in the closet. I love to come home from a trip to fresh sheets and towels.

Gather meds and pack dop kit, find games to play, taking water colors and my nail kit to do our nails and some facial masks to give them as gifts.

Will post pics on facebook and try to check in when we have good signal.

Yes, my dh has diabetes. He blames it on quitting smoking. He put down the cigarettes and started picking up food. Ate far too many sweet things and has been a diabetic since before 2014.

It has gotten extremely windy and it's pouring rain for the second time today.

No forest near me they is 45 min. away.
But the fires near 4 mi. on the other side of the river up the canyon walls were mostly sage brush are out now or contained.
The have been using helo with buckets from the rivers and
air support of big planes with tankers dowing air drops that was
earlier in the week like Mon. now it's just black burnt canyons.

Other fires are 100 + miles in about any direction you go.

I have bees here they like all my flowers and herbs too.
I live a half mi. from an orchard.
Butterflies like it here too.

I have been out and got the next batch of stuff to bag up under the carport now.

I watch Patience I enjoyed the story line better last year however.
