Fun Friday in our Parade of Daily Adventures

Post by Harriet »

Are you having any fun to add to your Parade of Daily Adventures today?
We have such varied PODAs, plenty of chores and OMMs, family members who need our time, responsibilities and cheery projects.

It's Juneteenth and there are some actual parades around here.

Events, festivals with art exhibits, and at the libraries, crafts, music, storytime with authors.

My dgsC's day will be full. He volunteers at a library that is having a big music and dance event on the grounds and indoors. I will be fascinated to hear about his day. Too bad that it really poured rain through the night, but they do have a pretty large parking lot that would be dry.

Thank you for starting us off today Harriet!!

Dishwasher got loaded and now it's ready to be unloaded.

There is a Blue Jay game on TV this afternoon. I will be at the Friday afternoon fibre group when it starts. I don't know if I will come home earlier than usual. I doubt it.

Juneteenth is more of an US holiday/celebration than it is here.

Dh said he wants to get the grass cut today. I'm more than ready to do it now, but he went back to bed. No low sugar issue this morning. He adjusted his insulin last night. Not by much, but less than usual.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

It's always fun to think about a new one!

Ddoggo only made it around one block bc of a sore foot.
So I did the loop with out her so she could rest it.

Pink & blue sky was lovely when I got up.

I need to think about my tasks list
to finish out for the week.
Glad for clouds and it's cooler out here this morning.

Did a few things,
Pulled a wagon load of weeds.
Did some kintting.
Swept & mopped kit. hall & dining room.
Trash got dumped.

I am glad to say I got the stuff I raked up yesterday in the can or bags yea for that &
it did not take as long I thought that it might!

Good morning

We had thunderstorms with heavy lightning this morning so I stayed indoors. I miss my outside time observing the sky, breathing fresh air and moving my body. It was a good reminder to not take it for granted.

Writing things on paper continues to be a help. I use a hybrid system using digital for repeating tasks and todos while using paper for quick jot down of happenings and OMM that go flying through my head. If I don't capture them when they happen then they are gone and forgotten.

For my knowledge.......it was a rare day when DH got out of bed before I did. I found him fully dressed in the kitchen staring at the coffee pot with his coffee cup in hand. I paused and observed him to see what he was doing (or trying to do). He didn't do anything but just stood there staring at the coffee pot. The coffee maker was already set up & ready to start (already had water & ground coffee in it) so it only needed to be turned on (press the ON button). The experience gave me another clue in how his amnesia memory loss is progressing. DH remembers the coffee pot is where he gets the coffee to put into his cup, but if the coffee pot is empty, he doesn't know how to proceed. I remain grateful that he is happy 99.9% of the time and is almost always complementary of most everything that I do.

Project of the day continues with desk decluttering, organizing and deep cleaning. This is a huge project, so I'm not discouraged by it taking several days. Yesterday efforts resulted in another full shredder bin, four WM bags of trash and a give-away bag half full, plus all the things that were taken to their spot. There was A LOT of STUFF removed from the desk area. A lot of this is homeschool papers, books, workbooks, etc. Now that I will not be homeschooling anymore it can all be removed without any doubt or regrets. it is a new phase in my life so I am enjoying the process of letting all the homeschool things go.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
When life gets difficult, learn to sing & dance in the rain.

It's a different sort of Desk Day here, as my computer gets protected and monitored. HRH is progressing through all the things.

So, I am posting from phone.

I've done enough weeding to get tired and enough to "hear" the protests from my back and decide to protect it, lol. A good day for it, though, because the ☔ 🌧️ paved (or unpaved?) the way with a moistened world!

Hopefully later I'll be able to respond better.
