We have sunshine... and cool temperature. But it's early yet.

I have to do our walk early. I have a morning class, followed by a recital (DGD). And then, I can get started in here.
I'm already D2S, had my pup out, drinking my coffee.

Stay safe and cool in the heat, FFB. You only have to interview better than the other candidates. I hope you have a fun vacation planned. You reminded me that we still have to book 2 nights in hotels in Lyon for our summer trip - 1 for the night we arrive (we're not going to arrive jetlagged in a foreign country and then drive on new roads and terrain for a few hours) and the 2nd for the night we hike out of the Alps and drop off the rental car. We'll travel by train after that.
Well, now you have me curious re: what fun thing you're planning today, Doggedly.
That sounds like an excellent plan for the day, Kitty!

Dh and I are up at the bnb. Dh is working - writing a paper. The plan is to pack up here, go to a bit of the morning session of the conference (dd30 is leading a part of it), and then drive home. Since I drove all the way here, dh gets to drive all the way back. We'll unload the car and unpack. Dinner tonight will be leftover quinoa over rice.

It will be good to get back into the regular routine of life. For all of 2 days - then we leave again. Unless dh, myself, and dd28 decide we're too tired -- but hiking in the wilderness is cathartic for us, so I think we'll probably be motivated to go. It just takes a LOT of prep beforehand. And then 10 hours of driving to get to the park. We'll split up the drive into 2 days on the way up and do it in one day on the way back.

Weather for the backpacking trip is still looking good!

Morning all. Looks like a busy day all around. Trissie is probably doing the party already since I am most of the day behind. Helian is on her way home. Doggedly is probably almost out and about too. As for me it's still almost 7 am Saturday morning and I have absolutely no plans. Far as I remember. Plans- no.. things i need to do lots. I just have to remember.

I need to get up first and take some painkillers. Probably muscle relaxant. Almost headache and my hips are out again. I made it through work and then it stiffened up. I think it's going to be a slow day. Moving at my own pace.

Garden got a good soaking yesterday cause I watered and then a bit of a storm mid afternoon. It was pouring rain when I took Casper back outside. Now the sun is out. Maybe things will grow today.

Need to do some tidying pupa. A few things from the store. Maybe a little weeding depending on weather. I don't know of anything else yet.

Good afternoon.
We had to let Tux go on Thursday, a very hard day, then take care of his remains Friday. It was almost comical with me trying to dig a hole and keep dh (with knee braces on both legs and a bad arm) from helping too much. It got done, and I got to use up some of my Easter lilies on pots by placing them on top. Now Little Man is my oldest and needs some tlc.
We plan to work in the yard a little, heat permitting, then go out to eat this evening for Father’s Day, as I don’t know how crowded the restaurants will be tomorrow. Dh wants steak so steak it is.
One bright thing is watching people from all over the world coming to the World Cup and their wonderment at things here that I either take for granted or haven’t really thought about… ranch dressing, barbecue ribs, bucees gas stations, they seem to be mostly food related lol. They’ve even reenacted memes from TikTok that are too funny (check out cop slide in Chicago, the cop bounces all over the place before he splats on the ground and the Scottish all slide down in their kilts). One guy joked about how long it takes to drive anywhere, we will drive 3 hours to go out to eat while if he drives 3 hours he’s on the other end of the country lol.
I’m going to try to plant another pot or two today, knock out dailies, and get back on track here.
I will be cuops later so if you see me lurking, that’s why…

Awww Bama. So sad. So hard when we lose pets.

I'm getting a reasonable quiet day so far. This crochet project is going really quickly. 4 rows this morning. I think it will get wider as it gets bigger but if not I will make a border. I think it's gonna be white lilac pink and teal. With maybe a green border. Or maybe not. The pink is very light variegated with a grey almost lilac and white blend so it's not really pink. Dd doesn't want too much pink lol. Over used for girls. So lilac and teal it is

I really feel like crocheting. I have a plan to make something for each child. Can't decide what though.

helia - recital was dance. None of my girls play the piano... One is starting in the fall.
(Piano was my dream while growing up...)

I've been trying to pull myself together since I got home - it's not happening.

Kitkat you should crochet. I found some cute sun hats.. dresses. Sweaters. I never thought you could make so much with clothes and crochet. Still struggling with sizing. The sweater I just made i might back up yet and make the sleeves longer cause it's really cute but it looks a bit too bulky for t shirt style.
