I guess it has been an unusually normal day here. ;) I say that because "normal" of late has been kinda chaotic with dgrands pretty much ruling the roost and myself being constantly distracted. However, last night, they both went home and I woke up alone this morning. I had time to do some floor exercises and read Bible, washed dishes that had been left in the sink, and started a load of laundry.
Then I went to town -- signed a check at the church, went to post office and grocery store, and then ds met me at the auto shop. We left my Tahoe, ate at a bar-b-que restaurant nearby, and went back to his house to let me get dmom's truck. DS put new windshield wipers on for me because we were expecting rain all week long, and he said the wipers probably would not suit me. Now it seems the week may be a bit drier than first predicted.
* There does seem to be some pretty heavy storms in the eastern corner of the state, so they may be headed your way, Twins and Harriet. -- Oh -- I see you're already getting wind, Twins. Stay safe!

(((LadyM))) Oh my goodness, I want to be like you when I grow up. ;) If ds were debating a move that would take him 11 hours away, can y'all imagine how I would be acting??? Oh my... I hope that your ds and gf will decide that they do not want to start out that far from all they've grown up with. I really admire your ability to keep your lips closed and stay out of it.

Cathy, we had a downpour just as I was getting back into the car at the post office. By the time I got finished at the grocery store, it had stopped. BUT, the rain made the parking lot feel like a steam bath! Whew!

Nancy, I have finished the laundry, but I still need to hang certain things to dry, and I still need to fold towels. I guess I'm not "finished" at all. The washing MACHINE is finished. And thank goodness, the dryer has operated just fine since I pulled it a little farther away from the wall.
I hope you are able to get ddog's paw feeling better!

Harriet, when you said your dd had a reputation for being a calming presence, I thought, well of course -- she is Harriet's daughter! I want to be like you, too, when I grow up!

I need to contact the credit card people and check into changing to a cash-back card, but I've about run out of energy today.

I don't know what next week will hold. I'm sure there will be something to interrupt the apparent openness of my schedule. I wish ds and ddil would let me come in and clean and organize for them! BUT... nope, I am not even going to suggest it. I wouldn't want MY late dmil in my house while I was away for a week. And of course, it's not as if there is NOTHING to do here. So I guess I'll work on getting my own act together. I might watch the entire Lonesome Dove series. I don't think I've ever watched it from beginning to end, and I have it on my DVR now.

For tonight, I think I will just be staying in and finishing the last steps of the laundry cycle. I'll probably just eat something light since I had a big lunch.
Tomorrow is another day.

lucylee, good job figuring out what the dryer needed.
Cathy, good job handling the donations.

I'm claiming an hour of sewing retreat, but with some disappointment that I couldn't get to more. I had just finished putting in my declutter time there for the day and was settling in, when a dcousin called and spent an hour on the phone. Haven't chatted with her in a while - Important to keep up with family.

Anyway, after getting back to sewing I did have that hour. And am set up to have a fast start tomorrow. Hopefully there can be more than one session then. And there are no more med appts this week.

Although the thunder threatened, we had almost no rain, so I'm glad I watered quite a bit today.

HRH felt it was important to work on a grocery order, so that is nearly ready.

I am a forced observant of the college world series game...sorta. Ds52 called to talk play-by-play with DH. I couldn't get the firestick to connect on dh big TV so I got the game playing on my laptop and put it in front of dh to watch. Only one more ending and then I can get my laptop back. Can u feel my excitement?

While waiting I have walked outside for 15 minutes, went through the mail received including unpacking a clock radio and getting it set up. Now the game is almost over so I'm staying close. Maybe I'll go start a load of laundry.while waiting
