KitKat, that's a very good idea about the neck cooler - I've been using a towel wetted and then wrung out, but the "proper thing" sounds much better!

Dogged, such good news about the trellis being on offer. I'm not sure who will be our next PM yet, I know very little about the gentleman who is tipped to be the favourite, so if he does win, I'll need to educate myself. After all the recent events, and the associated unrest and anger, I think we need a new leader. I've always had a soft spot for Justin Trudeau - very good looking, especially with that charming French-Canadian accent - and I remember the unofficial group picture that was taken at one of the G7(?) summits, where the men had all relaxed their formal dress. He looked gorgeous and still well turned out, especially compared to Boris (our PM at the time, who looked as if he'd just left a stag party. ) .

The person I feel sorry for ATM is Victoria Starmer - she will now have her husband underfoot and moping round the place, while she has to pack up two homes (Chequers and Downing Street).

Gma, when you're sorting through the clothes, could you put any you no longer need into a donate pile? Even if it's just a few, it all adds up over time, then then hopefully, everything that's clean would have an "away" where they can be put.

The house is done for today. We had rain this afternoon, but it was still 30C, so it just became very jungle like. It has cooled a lot this evening, so I've opened all the windows to get some air moving through. Tomorrow, however, is set to be very hot again.

I honestly don't think that Justin Trudeau was our problem, Kittykatt. Most of what he was being blamed for was what most of the western world was going through, as though they were peculiarly Canadian problems. But we are at the Find Out part of putting all of our eggs in one basket, which decision was made when he was a child. Now that we are here, Mark Carney has a unique set of skills and connections stemming from his work history and he is much more likely to steer us through this mess with minimal damage. In the same way, I doubt that Keir Starmer is the author of your country's problems, but I'm hoping that Britain has someone waiting in the wings that can step up and guide your country to a better position.

I went to Giant Tiger and used my coupon to get a balcony lattice that matches the one I have, to overlap and finish covering the front of the balcony. And bought far more groceries than I intended. As one does.

On the way back, I checked the mail again and found that my db's gift has arrived. A delicious kg of dried vegetables to add to everything for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, I just don't have the energy to do dishes. That's somehting I need to start to work on.It would make a huge difference in the way my house looks.
BTW, I when I stopped at my grandparents' home, the lady invited me in. Her dishes were done, but the entire house was so filled with furniture too large for the rooms, and "clutter" decor, she made my mother look like a minimalist!
