Keep it Simple Sunday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Let's keep it simple and easy today, a little family time, a little reflection and planning time and a little of whatever is needed to make Sunday just right for you.

Good morning

We had teenagers arriving at 5am to put tires on Trae pickup in our driveway. Then 3 of the teenagers left to eat breakfast before they start their project of the day. They are teaming up to earn $$$ today by doing a mobile wash & detail cleaning of vehicles. They have a half dozen vehicles scheduled to do. If a person has the desire to do this type of work, this is a money maker. Doing it with friends makes it seem like fun. They will earn several hundred dollars today. Not bad for a part-time gig.

DH is feeling better today so I can reduce my high alert monitoring of him.

Our weather is settling into our typical summer temperatures. Every day is over 100 (feels like) with no chance of rain. I'm used to the heat now and don't even notice it for the most part as long as we have a breeze. I am outside about a dozen times a day and enjoy the experience. I do try to remain aware and limit my time doing physical things outside to less than 30 minutes before coming inside and cooling off.

I started a post yesterday morning and never got it completed and posted, it was still here this a.m. We went to the river and hung out with dfriends there - weather not stable enough for a boat ride. Long day and very hot. I'm promised a day at home today, thank goodness.

My morning is also off because I got up early and had breakfast with ds and dh at 8 a.m. Ds started a new job last week and he's really not liking it. Safety concerns, process concerns, he says plant is dusty, dirty.

I'm getting back into bed for a bit. Didn't get to sleep in, and wanting very quiet day here at home.

I was up a bit after five today.
Did some walkabout in the back yd. got pics. & yt of my flowers.
I was sprinkling just a bit. Cool temps. like late May here today.
Walked ddoggo half walk again came back b/c it was starting to rain more.
Plus ddoggo is not quite up to her regular walks yet.

I finished more of my qt / journal stuff
then came in to eat it rained more
and then did my planning.

[That bite is no longer itching still red and swollen a bit
I'll do a food soak later in the week.] It is improving however.

I still need to get the rest of my planner stack put away.
Found a planner I can use now that I"ve finished 2 going on 3 journals.
It was nice to see that one I"d set aside earlier in the year.
Set the planner on a stack of papers on the table and the whole pile
slid off to the floor. So did 52 page pick up.

Got the trash dumped.
P'j's aka lounge pants new draw string it working yea!
Tested em on my walk I did not see any one thankfully.

Had to put on long sleeves today.
57* 69* F. Today's temp. range.

Got a letter ready to mail off later.

Lucyl. If you can this week try to schedule more than one day just for you.
Write out a list of the classes, and things you do with grands and see how
full your regular week is looking and make adjustments if you can for
me time.

Hi! Dh and I teamed up to get the grass cut before noon. Now it's done. I cut the front after putting the bit of gas in that we had. After I finished the front I checked how much gas was left. Not much.. I went and got a small can of gas. $20 worth. Came home. Dh said he would cut the back. He also said the tractor needed oil and sent me off to get that. $19 later we had a 1 litre container of oil. Dh said he would put it in after the tractor cooled down. We sat at the patio table for a while before we came in. I shut the garage door, looked the truck and the garage doors and came inside. Looked at the clock and it was right at "12:00". I'm happy we finished all the outside stuff before it got too hot.

Now all I have to get done this afternoon is some pots and pans. I made potato salad yesterday. The two pots aren't going to take any time at all. I plan to get all the dishes done during the commercials during the baseball game.

I'm not inspired to cook so we chose to make the 14 mile drive to a BBQ food truck open today. Pork belly, brisket, mac & cheese, lemon Caesar coleslaw, and hot rolls came home with us. This is our first time trying the lemon caesar coleslaw and we are not fans. We are huge fans of regular coleslaw but this version of the dish took us by surprise. My eyes and taste buds are still arguing about how coleslaw will taste vs reality. Eyes say the coleslaw (with shredded apples) will be sweet and tangy; however taste buds are stunned with the sharp lemon flavor.

Harriet - I'm still thinking about a ingredient you mentioned a few days ago. Vinegar in egg salad? Vinegar in deviled eggs? I've never heard of that.
I have so much to learn and experience.

DH and I teamed up to move the HEAVY (400lbs?) headache rack. DS17 took it off the 89 pickup when he entered it into car show recently. The headache rack is now in the back yard instead of blocking a gate and being visible from the road. it was a PITA to move because of the spikes that was plowing the yard as we dragged, tugged and pushed it into its new location. I'm tired from the effort.

Vinegar in egg salad? Vinegar in deviled eggs?
My mother added a little pickle liquid to deviled eggs and egg salad.

I had a great little nap and I'm upstairs now. My tummy is off a little today.

First load of laundry is in the dryer. Second load is in the washer. Dishwasher has been unloaded. Dishes are getting rinsed and loaded between innings of the baseball game.
