Monday Magic - a New Week! PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

We're beginning a new week, one that closes out June and ushers in July and the U.S. holiday weekend. (Yes, it's true! July!)

Make the week magical - get things done, get rested and relaxed, do whatever is magical for you, for today and for the week!

Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!

July 1st is Canada's birthday. I forget how "old" we will be. With it being on a Wednesday this year, we don't get a long weekend. There will be picnics and fireworks and people waving flags, but only one day to celebrate. We have a very hot week with lots of humidity coming up. Last night dh turned on the AC in the bedroom. It was so cold!!

I am heading to "knitting" in less than an hour from now. I will be cross stitching and 2 of the other regulars will be crocheting. The library shcedule says "Knitting". Both of the women that actually knit are away. One is on vacation in a motor home heading to the east coast. The other woman just moved 2 weeks ago, so we will see her when we see her.

Cathy, I plumb forgot that you have a holiday this week too! So it's a holiday week all around!

I'm getting a very sluggish crazy start. I was so relaxed yesterday I did no prep for today or this a.m. I have a workout at two and we're in a Zoom meeting at 5:30 today. We're eating eggplant parm from the freezer again - dh thawed two containers yesterday and we only used one for last night's dinner. (Another example of him not understanding how much food is required for a meal - he thawed two containers but had he asked, I could have told him that one was enough. He didn't ask, but then I'm supposed to be ecstatic that he's doing it. Sorry I'm in a temper this a.m.)

We have a potential water outage here until noon or so. I absent-mindedly started a lol earlier and had to explain to dh why I did it - because I was on autopilot and that's what I do. There's a break in a main water line somewhere with a predicted repair completion of noon. So far our water pressure hasn't been affected but two hours to go, so we're trying to use it sparingly.

I'm short this a.m. with dh. I'm explaining so much to him because he's underfoot and asking why why why like a toddler.
-There are additional dish clothes on the kitchen counter because when dcleaning lady folded them while we were away, she put them in laundry room. So I just got them out. Yesterday, dh thought we were out of clean dish clothes because the stack in the kitchen was low, so he washed whites yesterday. Without putting in the mop head that is washed weekly....because it was green. (Yes, green stripes, but it needs bleaching...)
-And there are blueberries in the strawberry container with the strawberries because I hate putting a lot of nearly empty containers back in refrigerator so sometimes I combine them.
-And I started laundry because I was on autopilot....and on and on.
-and he put away my bin of "summer" decor and it's back up high in the garage. Had to explain that it was sitting open because I am using it.

On top of the water issue, somehow my app that records weight from my scale via bluetooth isn't working. Says my email isn't recognized - I can't access any data and I have years of data there. Tried an old email from more than ten years ago and it didn't work....so email to support for that.

Later....issue with scale was solved. Somehow wrong email address got in and password needed to be changed.

I'm giving myself grace today to do what I please and as I need. The irritability is a sign that I'm not all together. I do want to get workout, this afternoon, I know that make me feel better too.

I slept in until 8:30ish. I was tired, evidently. Ddog went out once during the night. After I went to the bath room she wasn't ready to come back in so I sat outside a couple or three minutes until she was ready. Other than that, I slept well and had a nap yesterday.

Hello, magically delightful peoples!

Yay for a new week

There's an appt for me tomorrow at 11 for the inhalation therapy, which is just breathing and watching tv, however awkwardly, so this I can do. But, of course, we'll have to leave here at 10, not plan on returning until 12:30 at the very earliest, so the day will still sort of bisected and tiring. It's okay.

Kitchen spiffing done. Brunch was good. Sewing is at a good pick-it-up-again place.

Husbands or other housemates - sometimes I just give a clean slate because it makes MY life easier. Frankly, I realize that could be considered lazy for a relationship, but my time is precious, too, and a teachable moment takes away time. I figure that IF my housemate MAY notice that I cleaned up the mess myself (or whatever) - that it is at least possible - then I may just hope for that outcome and move on to give my time to what I want to do. Of course, this only works if the housemate ought to know better and there's hope they do.

Happy Canada Day! To those of you that celebrate that holiday!
I slept in a bit today and have been in the lazy Sun. journal time mode...
It rained in the nite here.
Then realized it's Mon. :roll:

So got dressed and did some stuff... read on...
Put a letter out in the mail box.
Made ahead meat for meals to freeze & eat later.
Had bfast.
Did up the dishes & put em away.
Made bed.

So I'm up to here.
Next items are out side I think and it's not quite the weather I wanted for those activities.
But at least it's cooler.
Got some things out of the back yard counting them for the daily declutter.

I've been out to clean cobwebs off the one rig;
Sat too long and I need to charge up the battery.

Good news ddoggo & I did a regular length walk today yea!
Had lunch.
Did a round of weeding after a break.

~~~~~waving Hello to all~~~~~
I'm late arriving here without reason other than being busy doing things. There is always just one more thing to do, you know?
The generator man is here to troubleshoot why the whole house generator didn't start at our last electricity outage. Hopefully it is something easy but the unit is over a decade old so maybe not? We lose electricity several times a year, sometimes for days at a time so having a generator is vital (IMHO). If I was forced to choose, I would do without other things in order to have electricity 24/7.
I've managed a few things - breakfast/brunch, wrote big check for tree work at cemetery and got it to mailbox, made a mobile deposit to my checking account, washed face, dental care. A.M. routine done except for shower, which I'll probably defer until tomorrow a.m. at this point.
I've managed to unlock and change the combination on the padlock I bought for the front cemetery gate. I'll take it by after my workout to put it on.
I'm dressed for workout, leaving soon.
vergerswife has been able to post in Nancy's "Gardens 2026" topic in the Outdoor Spaces section below. She had been unable to get to her info about finding our site. So glad she is back, telling about her garden.
Hey LadyM…this should make you feel better. I have an appointment with my tax man on Wednesday to finish up my taxes!
Lucylee … I know what you mean abt your kids messy house. Mine are the same, but the way I feel about it is if they don’t mind others seeing their house, why should I?if it doesn’t bother them why should it bother me.
I am down to one dog now. Cocos family came to get her yesterday and my house is much more peaceful now🤣
Up early to walk Amelia then went to class. I have a gazillion footprints to pick up. Been on the phone this morning taking care of business and let it go. Need to do it now
Bad storms the last few afternoons with a tornado touching down a few miles from me yesterday. Hopefully it won’t happen again today
Generator settings were adjusted and seems to be working fine now. Not such why the generator didn't automatically come on at the last outage but it is working with simulated power outages now. Hopefully it was just a weird blip and will continue to give us many more years of service.
Made the 2 hour drive to get prescriptions, vehicle gas, and shop for cold/frozen foods. I'm always glad to have that accomplished.
What?! I thought I was the last one to file taxes. It does make me feel better to know I'm in good company. :)
