Hello, all. Kittykatt, thank you for starting us off, and for the only Welsh duck. Very pretty markings on the feathers.
Thank you for the compliment, but I was cursing myself for that walk before I went to bed. It's so humid that the air conditioner's condensate overflowed its extra big tray and flowed across the floor in multiple directions before I noticed. Plus Germane had peed off the edge of the pee pad. I ended up using pee pads to mop it up, and after an hour and a half of bending and lifting waterlogged pee pads to the garbage and to the chute, I was cursing myself for having taxed my joints earlier. I did get it all mopped up before I went to be, and laid extra pee pads strategically to catch the water if it overflowed again. This morning I woke up to find that Germane had peed off the edge of the air conditioner's pee pad, which rolled downhill to hers, so she managed to wet two sets of pee pads and get the floor as well. A strategic coup, LOL.
Thank you for your Canada Day wishes. I hope that it's a good day for my fellow Canadians, and that they find ways to stay cool. Our forecast is for a humidex of 47 C, which seems dangerous to me. If the air is too humid to evaporate our sweat, then our natural cooling system doesn't work. I am among the fortunate who has a roof over my head and functioning air conditioner and hydro power, so I will be fine. I think that I will celebrate Canada Day by sending some money to a homeless shelter.
I hope that you find ways to stay cool while achieving your goals.

We had our big rain last night. Lightening over and over. It went on for a surprisingly long time. No harm done that I know of.

helia, I think about how much experience it must take to be able to create a syllabus for a new class that you will teach in the afternoon. That's a professional!

I did Gym, coffee with DDIL . Came home and had DD and DGD come - we made a little dessert with DGD:) (Peaches with Amaretti and Whipped Cream) She really enjoyed the process. Was thrilled to use my mixer to whip the cream and did a great job with the knife, cutting the peaches. They just left.
We watered the outdoor potted plants before it was too late:)

I should have done my tires 2 months ago, but with dfBS in the hospital for 1 full month, and plenty of other things going on, I just couldn't schedule it, then I forgot, until I was driving home from a 700 mile trip, and I wondered, did I ever change the tires? So I checked with my tire person.
When I got back from the tire shop (half mile from my house, I walked) I doscovered a puddle in my garage! A puddle that should no be htere. So I called my roofer. He cam, checked it out, said he would check it again after it is dry. We had 1/2 inch of rain, plus wind during the night. He said everything looks good on the roof, but when things dry out, he will add some tar sealer around the vent where it looks like water came in. I guess sometimes rain blows in through those vents? There should be a better design then....

That's good, L.Ann. It's much cooler here than our forecast. The humidex is low 30s C. I don't want to find out what humidex of 47 C feels like, LOL. I just feel sorry for the Canada Day visitors who were baked, soaked and zapped.

Morning all. Looks like it is hot almost everywhere but here. I mean it's nice summer weather. A few odds rainy days but so far so good we are usually the mediocre place that is in between everything. Stay safe in the heat and storms and all.

Off work today. Yup Canada day. We usually just have a day off at home. We'll do some of that but this morning I have to go play at the event at the park with the band. Fun part is we didn't have any practices in June. Except this last Sunday. And I managed to mess up the timing. Almost forgot and being grandma, when the option came agreed to pizza and an evening with dgs and his parents . That was fun but I missed this practice. I have no trouble playing the songs just the playing together part. And life has been busy and tired and sore and I have not practiced that piccolo enough. I'll try once more this morning but I think I will stick to the bigger flute .

I guess I just have been busy doing without posting lately. Happy to say I have 12 days till company comes and my house is almost ready. Living room looks so much better. Kitchen just needs maintenance . I have too much furniture in my house now cause the recliner chair didn't fit back in the living room. A bit more decluttering to do yet.

Well I didn't finish this morning. The event went well except our small town just doesn't do much. The band and choir did well. But it was cold so I didn't stay.

Groceries are done. I need to look at my music for Sunday. Waiting for the right keys before I print some. Other than that dh mowed and I used the electric trimmer some and now im questioning my choice. My neck is flared now.

Oh well. Some Tidy. Ds is making chili. Music and crochet. Maybe the dun will peak out again so I can go walk.

We were high 80s here - translates to 32C, and heat index higher with substantial humidity, especially after half inch of rain.

vacuumed rugs in the K that protect the floor
shook other rugs that have been sitting around dirty for ??? how long??? Then took them to the laundromat. They were SO dirty! One of the rugs is now in my washer for a second washing, along with a bit of bleach, since it is supposed to be white, and while it's a whole lot cleaner, it's dirty white. 2 others are in my dryer, another draped over a rack until its turn in the dryer. It feels good to get things straightened up a bit. (There's so much more to do.)
went to visit dfBS - her oxygen levels are low, even with substantial supplementation. But she is alert, calm, and comfortable.

change into "work clothes" and wash K and bathroom floors
sit and crochet for a little while.
