Three Cheers for Thursday (and Holidays!) PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

This week is feeling like a non-ending holiday with the fourth of July weekend beginning tomorrow, and with our Canadian friends celebrating Canada Day yesterday. And my own kids turn 34 today!

So celebrate all that comes your way today! Three cheers all around! Hip Hip Hooray!

I'm also celebrating, with a little chagrin, my down-the-rabbit-hole week. I've been possessed with getting the proof argument written and citations done for the new daughter of my ancestors John and Eve. I might need a trip through the library but I'm close.

The dcleaning lady will be here in an hour, and I'm not ready. I forgot to get sheets off upstairs bed yesterday and wash, so I'll have those sheets to wash later in addition to ours. We have houseguests coming on Monday through Wednesday. She enjoys my card making and wants to putter upstairs with me too, so that room needs a clean up.

I need to get my head out of genealogy for today. And I have a workout this afternoon, an errand to Michaels and trip to post office for HOA. I also need to scan those HOA dues statements for closing agents and email them out.

Happy birthing day Twins' Mom!! Thank you for starting us off today.

As soon as the baseball game ended, a thunderstorm began with a few power flickers and the TV turned off.

During the game we decided to bring in the other "portable" AC.

All compost, garbage and recycling is at the end of the driveway. All 3 cats have been outside. Only one has come back in.

I am having iced tea instead of hot tea this morning. Not too many things on my daily list. PSW is coming for dh at some point.

Later...

All 3 cats are inside enjoying the AC. Dh had his coffee and he's gone back to bed.

Good morning

Happy birthing day to Twins and Happy Birthday to her twins!

I have a celebration happening here today. I just got home from doctor appointment to get results of blood work. The 3 month experiment worked and my cholesterol was cut in half! It went from 340ish to 147. The other blood markers were equally as impressive. It has taken a slew of trial-fail-try-again effort but FINALLY after years of trying we have the right combination for my body. There is definitely celebrating happening here!

LucyLee - DS17 thought that was an excellent price for motor mount replacements.

DS17 and Fiancee16 were washing clothes and packing late into the night. Today they leave for their 4 day trip to stay with her grandparents. DBro gave them a "talking to" with detailed instructions how to remain aware of surroundings at each stop along their drive. I appreciate DBro giving that talk that a father would typically give. It takes a village.

Happy Birthday greetings!

I was up on time.
Did a walk about in the back yard and picked up apples.
Got the trash dumped and walked ddoggo around the block.
Had to come back and turn off front water forgot to do that when we left.
So need to get the rest of that walk in soon.

Good morning! I’m sitting in the chair at the hairdresser’s, waiting for the blue on my ends to cook. Meanwhile, DD is under the dryer waiting for bleach to develop, and DC is getting their hair cut.

Happy birthday to the eponymous twins!

Good to see blessed peeking in!

Awesome news on the cholesterol, LadyM! Impressive!

Twins, it was so reassuring when you talked about your zinnias just starting to bloom the other day. Mine are showing no buds yet, but I should be a couple weeks behind you. My bachelors’ buttons are starting to bud, though.

lucylee, whenever you mention Sonic, I get jealous. They used to have a few by us, but no more. There’s a Sheetz where the Sonic nearest us used to be, but I can’t get cherry limeade there. :(

I think I’m just about cooked, so I’m going to go now. Have a great day!

I posted birthday greetings to dkids on Facebook, and will call dd when I'm done with this.

Dcleaning lady is still working downstairs. The bed in the guest bedroom has been remade. I'm upstairs trying to go down the rabbit hole!

Weather today is unchanged. I was hoping for a T-storm (like Lucylee!) to bring the temp down but the chances are low. It's already "feels like" 105, with 59% humidity.

Dh is trying to find "something to do" for 4 July. I told him that outside did not seem like something I'd like to do. Dneighbors are busy. I need some time this weekend to get more ready for houseguests - and Sunday is birthday for dfriend V and for the wife of the houseguest couple.

First thing I need to do upstairs is to take care of the two HOA requests for HOA dues info for closings. The other street is more transient, two closings so far in July, and two residents have indicated they are planning a move. Mostly we don't need R/E agent around here - putting on the neighborhood Facebook group is enough.

Love it, Mystery! And my zinnias so far are a disappointment. I did not have a good germination rate, and then had to do some thinning as well. It appears that the pink/purple is the dominant color and so far that's all I have. I have a coupon for half off or $10 at the plant nursery, I might go by and see if they have any for transplanting.

That blood work is impressive LadyM! I have a reminder to schedule an appointment with our "concierge doc" for a check up and blood work. I've lost 18 lbs so there should be some improvement.

So happy to see bw2! Come back and let us know what's happening!

Cathy, you inspired me to have iced coffee this morning.

Nancy, I'm glad you're getting some walking in with sweet ddog.

More celebrating happening! This came across my feed and it is a wonderful celebration of World Cup gatherings IMHO
I admit to watching it more than once. :)

Being gone from the house for 2 hours in the morning has put me behind my typically doings. Although, I do like being the first patient of the day because there is no waiting. #WorthIt

Happy Birthday to each, of dd34 and ds34, hoping the day is good for both.

blessed! Hey, ya'll!

Cathy, you did get to see the game, though? Before the electrical zzppfftt?

Congratulations, LadyM on good bloodwork numbers - meritorious :) .

Amused to think of Mystery's family turning blue, bleached and clipped together. The family that styles together?? :D

Nancy, the marigolds are pretty! Ddolder's like yours are just budding because they are an even taller, late variety.
Twins', pink is the classic color, though, and if I had to choose one for zinnias, that would be the one. The problem sounds like it was with the seeds, not the gardener.
Mystery, I would be peeking  at the buds, guesstimating each day, lol. Anticipation... ..

Well, I didn't have such a great day yesterday. I've been feeling really well lately, but had a "step back" day. Extremely tired, napped in the morning, napped in the afternoon. The silly thinks-it's-so-smart watch fussed at me saying I was stressed. I ate so little that I actually wrote down "raisins" as one thing to write in my record so it wouldn't look so bare. Gave up on sewing, which was just becoming depressing because I didn't have the bandwidth. DgsW came and wanted to talk and I enjoyed him but honestly was kinda faking the concentration. (He is enjoying doing odd jobs this summer and wanted to tell me about pressure-washing trash cans.)

Feeling better today, but taking it slow.

Ddolder called and talked for an hour - goodness. She had a morning meeting cancellation and said she'd been wanting to call so that gave her a chance. She's recently had extra responsibilities piled on at work after 5 distant co-workers had their positions disappear. yipes. They weren't personally targeted in any way, but it was still a sobering experience for more than one dept.

I didn't get outside this a.m., so even with the heat that's one thing that's a Next Up.
