I'm glad to say we've walked more than half of the regular routine one.
I've watered in back.

I need to take cooked cabbage and chicken broth I put in jars to the basement freezer. Done.
I made up bread with the cream that soured and trying flat bread, I will bake this oven is on now. \
as I burnt
the other top of the stove ones that ended up being dog treats and are loved LOL!
Did a couple of kitchen spiffs clean as you go method.

Picked up after the doggo in back yard.
Put out apples for the squirrels.
Checked the mail.
Got my a.m. steps in.

I'm coming back through after being out. I was tempted to walk through TJMaxx and found a couple of small things, unfortunately there was a line of maybe 15 people to pay, so I abandoned my cart and got out. My Michaels stuff was oversized, so instead of just picking it up the guy had to find it. Got through post office and CVS and took car through car wash. I also stopped on the way back to talk to pool guy - we were told the chlorinator needed to be fixed back when the Health Dept closed it - and I've never seen a bill for it. So I put it on his radar to ask about. He just maintains, doesn't repair, so maybe something got lost along the way. Pool chair gal hasn't been happy with this company and is giving them second chance this year - last year some pump was bad days before it was closed and was running full time. They were to fix it before it was closed for the season and didn't and put it off and it didn't get done.

I'm still hoping for rain. Maybe getting the car washed will do the trick, lol.

I'm going to eat and cool down and then resume work. That trip out took longer than it needed to.

Dh and I talked and checked in about the rest of the weekend and houseguests....so I'm starting at TOTH. I need to reboot laundry. I may water rest of plants before I go upstairs.

Coming back through. I got all the plants outside and in with the exception of my raised beds watered. The raised beds get the sprinkler. I deadheaded the geraniums. Ferns do not seem happy these days. Upstairs, I've dillydalled a little but started with the stamping desk for now. It's always satisfying to clean up.

We're hearing thunder and ddog is right here with me, but looks like chances of getting much rain are pretty low.

Spoon Tomatoes! This is the first time I've grown them. They are about the same size as a pea and makes a cherry tomato look gigantic. I'm not sure if they have a purpose other than novelty.

Twins - I am in a couple zinnia FB groups and when the discussion of whether to thin the zinnas comes up the answer is always not to thin them. According to the zinna members, they do better when the plants are planted dense. I don't consider myself a zinna expert, but the flowers in my garden that have plenty of space around them are smaller than the flowers that are planted together. It is almost like the zinna plants respond to their dense competition challenge by going into "Watch me grow better and more blooms than you". Logic suggests the opposite should happen, but zinnias seem to play by different rules.

I have the house temperature at 80F because DH is cold and snuggled under a blanket. If it starts feeling warm inside to me then I go outside for 10 minutes or so. When I come back inside 80F feels cold. As long as air is moving, I don't mind the heat.

Finally rain coming down! In fact, we have a severe thunderstorm warning too. Ddog has been up against me, but the outside temp is down to 72 for the moment.

I am done up here, but have not run the roomba. Will do in the a.m. I don't think we have anything tomorrow, but I'm on the alert for dh to come up with something to do. Sunday he is expecting us to spend the day at the river for V's birthday...I'm not sure I can handle the heat like that, and coming home to houseguests coming the following morning....

I spent about 10 minutes mowing in the 101F feels like temperature and it was too much. It has taken me 30 minutes to recover from it. I'm still a bit queasy. Note to self....learn from this mistake and make better choices.

Walking Tacos are on the menu for today but they don't sound good to either of us. I'm switching to something simple like chicken breast with chopped tomatoes/peppers/onions mixture on the side.

I came across the paint when I was vacuuming the bedrooms.
Remembered that I have a stool that needed it by one of my lawn chairs.
So I painted it, and it's drying in the sun. I'm counting that for my arts and crafts.

84* F. is our hi today. We are one degree from that.
I have a/c on and it just kicked on.

Took ddoggo out for a break when I was painting heard a fireworks so thought I'd better get
on that.

Watched the end of a match that Egypt won whit what I am calling a "Kick Off" I do not know
that much about soccer no idea what the officials call it. Learned some thing new.

I took out the litter to the large compost bin outside earlier today.
I also took out the compost from the kitchen to put in the same bin.

WOW it's too hot to go outside.

I went to the Friday afternoon group. It was just right, it's usually too cold in that store. .

I came home and cooked supper. Dh and I both laid in the really cold bedroom reading for a while. The bed needs to be remade. Dh is having a hard tome getting up out of bed fast enough to get to the bathroom.

Now I feel like going back in there. I also feel like I should be doing something.

Half of my new hair bands order has arrived.
Disappear into my hair - check.
Can hardly feel them - check.
Not a shaggy sheepdog anymore - check.
Look so much like my mother I'll probably startle cousins - check.

The other half come Sunday - dressier with wrapped fabrics.

The car is gonna cost some dollars. Sigh. Needs other completely different things. Spark plugs, AC filter, etc., etc. HRH has been on the phone with the mechanic and has decided we'd be smart to get it all done. We really want to care for it well, since it saves us payments every month and looks like it could be much younger and we both actually like it. This comes on the heels of both types of insurance payments coming due, house and vehicles, so it's sobering, but responsible.

Zinnias - does planting them closely make them susceptible to powdery or downy mildew? One of those problems hit mine one year and was discouraging. I bet there are seeds/varieties that resist that, though. I was probably living in the dark ages and not paying attention.

Good evening, all!

The order of the day here was grocery shopping. I finished the list this morning, and DH took DD out to the small grocery store to see what he could get there. Came back, we unloaded, and DH sat a while, cooling off and having lunch, before taking DC to the big grocery store. After they got back and we put that stuff away, back it was to the living room, where we worked some more to get caught up on Jeopardy. We have most of the episodes from when we, and then DH, were away, but at least one failed to record, so I’d like to get to that spot before it goes off Hulu.

Now we’re back in the living room (our a/c oasis) getting ready to have dinner and watch the ballgame. They’re supposed to have a big fireworks show after tonight’s and tomorrow’s games, but I’m just as glad not to be there in this heat.

Cathy, I remember that weekend. DH’s cousin got married that weekend, and the backup to get back to the States was brutal. It was a parking lot before you got to Fort Erie. I remember the trouble we had trying to convince DD that it was OK to pee in one of DC’s diapers. DeldestBIL and his wife gave up on getting home that night and got a room. I don’t remember how late we got home. I do remember it was difficult to find somewhere that was open to get dinner.

Envying Twins that 72. We’re not supposed to see anything that low until Tuesday.
