Re: Faroese Duck Friday
Hi, all. It's laundry day at the Dogged household. I had to stagger my loads due to available machines, but I'm still getting two loads done so it's all good. I won't try to get much else done while I'm doing the laundry. Once it's done, I hope to get on with other things.
I rarely see duck here, Kittykatt, let alone duck parts. But I think that the lesson for me is that the extra $2/kg for turkey is worth it, unless Germane starts showing allergic reactions to it. I would also get more value from the duck if I had a real freezer as I could have stewed the skin and bones a second time to get more broth. But with my freezer stuffed to the gills, I just threw them out.
L.Ann, I was reading that there are two heat domes heading for Washington, to arrive July 4th. One is centered off the east coast in the Atlantic, so I can imagine how how it is for you. It's 30C here, which is hotter than I enjoy but it's normal summer weather for us. I'm glad that you found some shade to walk in.
I think that it is for the best that you job indoors in this heat, hela. The outdoors will still be there when the heat breaks.
I'm glad that they were able to fix the boiler, Kittykatt. Sorry about the drunk-laden walk.
Friday
Drained air conditioner
Cleaned up after Germane
Threw away mat that she peed on in front of me. She had to walk over 10 pee pads to reach that mat, but it was dark and she was sleepy and looking for me.
Found where she had upchucked and cleaned it up
Heart pill for Germane
Spiffed self
Started a load of laundry. Someone using the other washer
Came back, found the air conditioner hose moved and it draining. Mopped up its tray before it overflowed.
Flipped laundry. Both washers free, and the other washer load gone, so I can use the other dryer.
Started a load of bedding

Re: Faroese Duck Friday
Hello, Dogged! Cheering you on with the laundry - that will be my job tomorrow!
I concentrated on my back garden this evening, so now the main jobs there are some, just a little bit to do tomorrow. I've tidied up round the front and swept the path and deadheaded, but decided to feed and spray the roses there early tomorrow before the sun gets round and when I hopefully have more energy. Most important, Freddie has finally had his walk (no time first thing this morning, and then too hot when I got back).

Re: Faroese Duck Friday
what a fun study of ducks this week has been! I found a you tube of various duck calls. All very different, the faroese search led me to one that sounded almos t like a soft chicken cluck! Most of the [American] ducks didn't "quack," the screeched or squacked or whistled or had multiple notes.
My day started slowly, it took a couple hours after breakfast to feel any energy - again, lots to drink, a full quart (liter) plus pancakes
then talked myself into working on MY K table, sorting as I did for dfBS yesterday.
Locally, we have a scholarship fundraiser of pork chops, coleslaw, chips and pop ro water this evening. MrVKM is coming to join me.
I have done a banking errand for dfBS (I always have them make a copy of the check I deposit, so I can put it into her files at home - I am trying to be so careful, as financial abuse of a vulnerable adult is a serious crime I don't ever want to be charged with!)
Dropped a card off at the home a df recovering from serious injury, but didn't go in.
Cemetery - took down the Easter cross and spring tulip decor, and put up large bright summer flowers for dh and my parents.
Heading to mother's house to empty dehumidifers
and do a few other things before MrVKM comes.
And I need to get out of my "pink" clothes and put on 4th of July colors, as I spent all of $1.49 on a patriotic pair of earrings, so I need to wear something tha tgoes with them!

Re: Faroese Duck Friday
You're a big spender, Gma.
I don't look good in the bold colors of our flag. I don't actually have any clothes in those colors. I'll aim to wear clean clothes tomorrow.
Look like a nice day with a pool visit and reading, L Ann.
WTG on the laundry, Doggedly. I got 2 lols washed today too! Not completely folded, though.
Is your boiler working now, Kitty?
I did a lot of different things today, which felt good. We had a really strong storm roll through around 6 pm, just as I was getting the groceries into the car. I got pretty drenched.
