Helia, yes,.we have a working boiler again, thank goodness.(I'm also very grateful .we have a service contract, so I know we cam easily get someone to come out in these incidents.) I'm looking forward to a hot .shower this morning rather than a Luke warm one!I'm sure clean clothes.will be.oerfect - it's better IMHO to wear something you feel happy in.

Today, DH is going out with his friends, and *M hoping for a quiet day at home. I slept long.amd.well last night, but I still feel tired - I think the week is catching up with me. It's going to be hot, so I need to get onto the front garden early when it's in the shade, and.spray the roses there amd give them a liquid feed. The house needs attention, I need to catch up on laundry, and I also want to bake and do lunch prep for tomorrow while the kitchen is still reasonably cool. And I would like to do a little in my back garden this evening,.when the sun has gone round.

I've also posted in J&C about a matter that's OMM today.

Happy 4th of July to all US SHEs !

Not CUOPed yet. It's summer school break, starting today, until September 1st. We had the electrician coming 2 days this week : our wiring is now safer than it was, but it disrupted some routines and our dinner schedules. The kids are clearly lacking sleep. There was the FIFA soccer world cup, France won on Tuesday, the game started at 11pm. Tonight France is playing against Paraguay in the 8th-final, at 11pm again.
Boss will be back from vacation on Monday, but I sort of have decided to stop worrying about her. The job I applied to, I had a phone call from the man who was at the interview (they were two), their finance director, very nice, explained they had chosen another person who ad previous experience in their specific field (banking) and not because of any flaw in my profile or in my "performance" at the interview.
This morning I picked up the weekly grocery order, and drove back hurriedly because there is a rugby game, All Blacks vs France, in Christchurch NZ. We spend so much time watching sports TV ! I didn't want to miss the 9am start of the game because I love the pleasure of Haka with coffee in the morning.

You have an ambitious list for the day, Kitty. Yay for a working boiler! I am praying for your OMM concern. I did wonder if G would inherit it.
LOL FFB! Had to google Haka. We lived in Christchurch, NZ for a year when I was 6 years old. I have fond memories of our time there. I hope France wins!

Dh and I are not following the World Cup too closely, though news reports, videos, and podcasts on AND by the fans here, mainly the European ones, are ubiquitous and delightfully fascinating to many in this country. I'm surprised by what a positive experience it has been - in general. Dh was sad that the Netherlands lost, but it was a tight game. We were delighted that Cape Verde did so well in their game vs. Argentina.

Our heat has broken and we got a lot of rain last night. It looks like there will be a lot of rain at the park in Canada as well. . . I'm kinda glad we're not camping in it. We will have to make crepes in it, but they'll have a tent-pavilion like structure up.

I'm up and have had a small coffee. We'll be on the road in 45 minutes, so I need to go s2s and finish getting ready. We packed most things last night but still need to pack the cooler this morning.

I may not see you until tomorrow. Happy 4th to US SHEs! Happy Saturday to all!

L.Ann, I'll steal your menu idea, shepherd's pie, if I may, for a meal this week, we haven't have that in a while and I can make a no-meat portion. I loved reading about Little Bit cooking dessert with you ! WIll you have her home next week again ?

It's hot today, but nothing like the heatwave we had ten days ago. I've been going through the school stuff the kids jave brought back from school, discovered nice art pieces. They always love the first days of summer school break because I allow them to use their coloured pens from school, and their dry-erase mini white boards, as they like.
Both are still in their pajamas... oh well, school is over and it's the weekend.

I have Little Bit during the week until school starts the end of August, FFB. Then my schedule will drastically change. She has swim lessons for the next two weeks and then one more week of summer camp….

We have baseball tickets tonight followed by fireworks. Since it is going to be super hot again today I have decided that walking is not going to be a priority today.
