Hi, everyone

Humidity is sky high today and very oppressive. When I came in from the garden this morning my shirt was actually damp. Perhaps the temps contributed to sporadic sleep. 4 more days of the heat wave on tap. I heard a report about how songbirds have it rough at temps nearing 100, and that's often when we lose them. I know that was the case and OMM when I was raising hens - I would freeze a small block of ice through the night and take it out to their water in the early afternoon.

Most of my work today has been in the kitchen. Have spent some time planning next year's gardening while things are fresh in my mind. But the sprint I was on for a while, of sweeping, mopping and scrubbing, is definitely over, lol.

Nancy, we've also rediscovered a favorite clear pitcher. It's squared in shape so fits neatly in the fridge, holding more than you think. Helpful for July!

The other hair bands came. They are nice with gauzy fabric wrapped. I look neater this way with bangs pulled back, but honestly, not younger. My grandmothers both had long hair they pulled back with combs in a similar way, and hair in puffy ridges would frame their faces, so I guess I'm emulating that now. I'm not supposed to get much sun right now, so looking paler where the hair is pulled back will just be the way it is. Kinda torn. Any time you are growing out bangs, it's awkward. Committing to bangs, maybe young-looking (?) is nail-biting when you're not sure. Isn't it a happy thing, though, to be out from under scarves.

Home from a successful trip to dentist x4.
Details for my memory...
** Me - No Cavities. Xrays were done on back teeth. Hygienist bragged on how good my teeth looked and asked if I made any changes since last visit. I have gone 98% gluten free but wouldn't expect it to have such a positive effect on gums/teeth.
** DS17 - No Cavities! Celebrating that he went through the first 18 years of his life with zero cavities.
** DD15 - No Cavities! Her 15 year streak of not having any cavities was another celebration. The dentist thinks her wisdom teeth need to come out so is sending DD15 to surgeon to have wisdom teeth removal consult.
** DH - he did excellent sitting in the dental chair while teeth cleaning, checkup and partial dentures were adjusted. It was a good thing that we had appointment because I was not aware that DH has stopped taking his partial dentures out like he is supposed to. This lack of following proper care procedures has resulted in sores in his mouth. DH isn't feeling any pain from the multiple sores which is shocking when I saw the pictures. They gave me instructions how to help his mouth heal and we will return to the dentist in 3 weeks to make sure the sores have healed. DH also has 4 cavities so appointments to fix those are on the calendar.

DH seemed to be doing good so I decided to make a quick stop at Sam's to pick up some cold items. Everything has been unloaded and put away.

Taking a break and then will start gathering trash and take it to the road.

Got some watering done in the beds in back and the grass in
the back yard after the game.

I joined Nancy in my garden beds and went out and pulled some weeds this evening. Later, and in fact even now we have had thunderstorming, yipes.

HRH had had the truck in immediately after the car, they finished, called, and he even paid over the phone, yet we realized too late today that they never returned our truck. Hmmm... ..

He has an appt mid-morning tomorrow and now he's thinking I may have to stay home in case they are bringing it then, because he doesn't think they can just leave it without a person being home. Also hmmm ... ..

Peeking in before I shut my eyes. Spent way too much time driving today. DC had driving lessons, so I drove them down there and dropped them off. Usually I wait around until I’m sure they’re situated, but there’s a mess of construction in the parking lot, so I dropped them and left, so of course I got a call from them minutes later to say they’d come at the wrong time. Fortunately, between the left turn out of the parking lot and the next turn being a left from one busy street to another, I had not gotten very far. So then we drove home, and I drove them out and back later in the afternoon. That meant nearly three hours of driving for me for two hours of driving for them. (The driving school is not far, but it’s not near a highway, so the trip is all city streets with frequent stop lights. I did not count, but to the best of my recollection, there are about 15 stoplights on the route.)
