Dusting now that is some thing I could do while the game is on.
I have it on mute as today the crowd noise is bugging me.
Some days I'm okay with it others not.

I have a cousin that's the opposite of LM's son that works on cars.
It's been super frustrating for his parents and family. Sigh
dsis filled me in on his latest antics.

It's muggy still have to turn on the a/c again.
Ddoggo likes me to sit on the couch so she can lay beside me and nap
it must be her fav. spotl LOL!

I always told LH I needed warning so I could plan and to not spring stuff on me.

Since I put the pasta salad in the fridge, I have spent most of the afternoon in the bedroom where the AC is cold!! I had to take garbage out earlier and I am trying to avoid having to go back outside until much later.

Dh is happy that I am having more rest today than I would normally. There is a baseball game on at 8 p.m. so tonight's bedtime might not be until after 11. That was my excuse for my 2 hours that I actually slept. I also did a lot of reading.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I forgot all about the ballgame, and I fully intended to watch it! Just turned over to it and they were in the 7th inning stretch, so I may watch the end.

My ta-das for today ALL involve dmom... I was slow to get out of bed, and I had to shower, and JUST as I was getting out of the shower & brushing my teeth (because I had to go to church and sign some checks) -- I hear a horn blowing in the driveway. Well, not in the driveway -- I looked out and no one was there, so I knew it was dmom, pulled into the carport. I pulled on my robe and ran out to ask her "What are you up to???" LOL... she had been to the doctor and was very happy to tell me she scored "exceptionally well" on the memory test, but she needed me to go to the lab with her, because she just can't get up the steps anymore. There's a ramp, but it's a pretty long walk from the parking spot to the ramp.
I told her if she would stop by the church with me, I would be glad to go with her.
So -- back inside and quickly got dressed -- then off to do a million errands.
In reality, dmom and I
* stopped at the church
* went to the hospital lab (we no longer have a hospital, but the lab, radiology, and physical therapy still work out of that building)
* dropped off her rx at drug store
* went to Dollar Tree (for both of us -- I was getting paper plates, etc for party tomorrow)
* Wmart (for both of us)
* drug store to pick up rx
* grocery store (for both of us -- Wmart now wants 48 hours notice for cakes)
* bank for her
* post office for me
* drive thru to pay electric bill for me

After I got home, I ate some crackers with turkey and cheese, read the paper, and fell asleep. It was pouring down rain again (second time today) and it has started again tonight since I sat down at the computer. My hydrangeas look so nice and healthy, but they have NO BLOOMS.
Since awaking, I have eaten every snack in the house ... :roll:

Dgd called wanting to know if she could spend the night. I told her no, she has Wonderful Wednesday tomorrow. She said I could take her to that, I have to go to chair yoga anyway. Well... chair yoga is an hour later, and even though it is only 5 minutes to the church, I do not want to make two trips in an hour. And I don't want to just hang around for an hour, as she suggested. AND I don't want to get up an hour earlier!!! PLUS, taking her to WW means making sure she showers tonight and waking her up and getting her dressed in addition to my own morning routine. I told her she would need to spend tomorrow night with me after the party, so that seemed to satisfy her. My goodness. It is exhausting to be this popular. ;) :lol:

I need to fold the towels, the last of my weekly laundry.
I also need to exercise, considering how much I have been eating all evening. I don't need to start skipping that habit.
I am still exhausted, and I'm not really looking forward to the birthday party tomorrow, but I'm sure it will be fun once they get here -- it's just family -- dmom, dbil & dsisil, plus ds/family.

I've been sidetracked since getting to the computer by looking at peach salsa recipes and the map of the Buckeye trail. (Yes, Twins, that was me who asked about it. Thanks for sharing your recipe.) My late dstepgm used to make fried peach pies, Mystery. She was "famous" for them and her church family always expected them when they had events at church.

And like HRH, (((Hugs for all of you))) -- I wish I could go on a trip, but there are a bunch of reasons I'm hesitant. Nancy, planning is part of my problem -- anticipation brings lots of anxiety for me. If dmom had pulled up and said she had reservations for the next couple of nights and needed me to drive, I would probably do better than if she gave me a week or a month to think about it. But we can't be so spontaneous because we have to think about whether or not the dgrands need me.

Dusting was to be my WHB task this week, but that hasn't happened. Maybe tomorrow, between yoga and cake pick-up.
everything doesn't have to be perfect.
DGD tells me that quite often -- she says, "The world is not going to end if you don't put everything away, Nana." "The world is not going to end if you don't get everything out of the car." Where do you think she heard that???

I need to try to do teeny tiny things every hour.

Enjoy the "new" car, Twins!

My dmom wakes up at 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. every day. She usually goes out and walks at sunup, before it gets hot. She uses her walker, but she tries to increase her time or distance every day. She is sooo slow... but still I am encouraged that she is walking.

OH -- what do y'all think about the possibility of year-round DST? Personally, I am concerned about the late sunrise in winter. We tried this once before and it didn't work. I think I would prefer year-round standard time -- the days would still be longer in summer. I don't like dark at 4:00 pm any better than anyone else, but it doesn't last too long, and the medical professionals say standard time is more aligned with our bodies natural rhythms. I guess we'll get used to whatever we have.
Tomorrow is another day.

I bet Cathy is still awake. Hope she enjoyed the game.

lucylee, "spontaneous". That's what HRH is talking about now - that for the first time in a long time we could be that. Shock the kids, etc.

Your dmother walks very early without much light. My goodness, but what if she does need someone at that hour... .. I guess it's fine, I just think about these things.
I really hate it for ya'll that your community has lost your hospital now.

Twins', happy for you about the car decision.

If we did actually travel much, we would need the purchase of a new laptop. We have a tablet, phone, but that doesn't allow for HRH to really be away from his office for long. We're toying with the idea of going out tomorrow and shopping what he hopes will be good prices he's heard of - some store having a sale.

Dr has taken me off of an evening med, and I have worked another into suppertime, so I may have better night's sleeps without needing to put anything into my tummy late. Also, less calories because I was forever feeling as though I needed to eat something with a pill to avoid discomfort.

According to the marginally smart watch, I walked and walked so much yesterday outdoors in the heat of the day that I slept 5 hours without awakening last night. Unfortunately, I also awoke to have an inner-thigh cramp, so yay, a new place to have a cramp. First time I've actually believed I could blame dehydration for any of the cramping.

Harriet, she keeps her Life Alert with her, so she could contact them if she needed someone. They could call me and/or medical responders.
Tomorrow is another day.
