Success! In under 2 hours DD50 and DD15 teamed up to get her bedroom decluttered and cleaned. Furniture was moved to enable easier installation of window a/c unit.
DS17 and friend are teaming up to do 4 jobs for me. I've used 3x5" card to list details & expectations for each of the jobs and how much I will pay for it. Some of the jobs price are turn-key and others are how much I will pay by the hour. They are eager to earn money so are motivated. This is a Win-Win because I'm thrilled to get these things job done.
DD15 did finally agree to get new shoes and underwear in prep of start of school. She wanted the exact same shoes as she has (Brooks W Adrenaline GTS 25) so I ordered them. Funds were provided for underwear shopping so that is happening this afternoon.

Re: Manageable Monday PWYC
Yes! So glad you're here Cathy!
I had an okay workout. I think that this gal sometimes doesn't work me hard enough, but I guess today having a not-so-exhausting workout was good. Heat index was over 100 when I left there and I decided to defer a couple of errands to tomorrow a.m. when it's cooler.
Happy decluttering LadyM, and how wonderful to have capable young adults who can take on a project and get it done. And wonderful that dd15 and dd50 are having good times together. (Tell dd15 that I always get the same walking/workout shoes myself. I know they fit, the style gets updated now and then but that's another choice I don't have to make today.)
Bw2, so very sorry your dmom is still feeling off. Thinking of you and family....
I hope your air quality alert gets lifted, Nancy. We haven't had issues from the smoke out west but our air quality isn't always great when it's so hot here. (I haven't had issues getting here today, either!)
Mystery, I always feel virtuous after my workouts. I'm always so happy to be done and that I got there and did it. And I do sleep better. You're doing a great job on your treadmill and nutrition, I bet.
No puppy at home, RR! You're fancy-free without that young-un! Nice to stay in and watch Perry on a hot summer day.
I'm more worried about the days slipping away while dh is away. I want to do some research/writing and paper crafting. Tomorrow I have body work at 10 am and will run a couple of errands after. Nothing else on the schedule, but I do need to (belatedly) look at my to-dos for the week and see what I can knock out.
Earlier Harriet quoted me and said:
As I said, I still haven't defined any lofty goals for the week. It's enough for today that I got the DAR email gone, and worked out. I also got about an hour upstairs with some research and writing down things that need follow up.

what a good phrase

Re: Manageable Monday PWYC
Had dinner.
Did a few putsy type chores.
Made the bed again it's good for now.
Watered by the tree in front.
I did manage to get my five quilt blocks made up today yea!
I watched a show about reviving a recipe from childhood ~
A gal wanted kugel I'd always wondered what that was so I watched it
being made. This one had wide noodles [not homemade] and butter eggs dairy like cream cheese cottage cheese,
raisins and some spices & sugar, par boiled noodles then baked.
Interesting.
Reminded me of my gran that made home made noodles with a bit more sugar for a black berry cobbler,
the noodles were sinker type, and it was very juicy. Tasty diff. than my mom made.

Re: Manageable Monday PWYC
Hello, hello -- to everyone!!!
I guess I managed Monday. Boy... it has been a day! All good, but BUSY.
-- First, at her request, I took dmom to a car lot where she had received a flyer that she had "definitely" won something. She called the phone number to verify. Yes. Definitely. I had my doubts but she was certain the smallest prize was a $50 gift card to Wmart. I had my doubts. My dmom has a good mind, but sometimes... oh well. DGD and I went with dmom, and guess what the prize was? A small (the box fits in your hand) KARAOKE machine. It has lights on it that change color. What is my 81 year old dmom going to do with a tiny little karaoke machine??? SMH. DDIL said dgd might like it. Neither of us seemed to think about dgd or even ask her what she thought of it. SMH.
-- After that, we went to Home Depot, and walked all around there while dmom checked the cost of a new dishwasher. Lots of time spent doing nothing. DGD was bored out of her mind. But she was well-behaved and made the best of it. She and I were interested in the baby blue refrigerator we saw.
-- After THAT, we went to Target, because dmom wanted a new phone and they supposably carried Consumer Cellular phones. Nope, not anymore.
-- THEN we went to the car dealership where dmom bought her car, and scheduled an appointment to take it in for a repair -- she received a recall notice recently.
-- Finally, we stopped at Krispy Kreme.
Back home at dmom's, dgd and I stayed just a minute (to split the donuts with her) and dmom and I made plans to attend her high school reunion next week.
Later this evening, I texted our rsvp to the lady in charge.
ONLY AT THAT POINT did it cross my mind to check to see if ds and ddil would be home that night so I would not be needed for babysitting.
Yes, they will be home because that is Meet the Team night for the football team.
I texted back to the lady and told her "OOPS -- I will not be able to bring dmom to the reunion! SORRY!!! I will find out if she is okay going alone."
My goodness. I am so aggravated... and I feel terrible about backing out on dmom.
OTOH, she has not been attending their reunions. They have one every year, and it is always at one of her favorite restaurants, less than 5 miles from her house! Except for one, all the ladies in her close friend group have already passed away, except her best friend, and that lady NEVER attends the reunion. I don't think dmom will feel bad about me backing out, but I feel bad about it. It was too late to call her when I talked to ds, so I'll call her in the morning.
I did a load of clothes, emptied and refilled the dishwasher, washed the hand-wash items in the sink, tried to "plant a seed" with dgd re: how much better I felt having done that, and it only took 10 minutes while I had been thinking about it for two days.
Corrected payment for my internet so it will be on my cash back card.
Played several games of Clue with dgd and a couple games of Dirty Board, and I am exhausted.
In between Krispy Kreme and realizing I had messed up, dgd and I ate an early supper, came home, I took a nap, and then we went to her volleyball game. I am exhausted. I know I already said that. It bears repeating.
I hope dmom isn't too disappointed in me tomorrow.
