A mushroom is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically found growing above ground, on soil, or on its food source. Key types include button mushrooms, shiitake, portabello and oyster mushrooms.

A mushroom features a cap, stem, and gills underneath where spores form.: Many are safe to eat, but some wild species are toxic (often called toadstools) Mushrooms are used in soups, stews, stir-fries, and sauces. They can be seared in a hot pan, sautéd in butter, or cooked with a splash of water to release moisture before browning.

What in interesting start to the week. Plants? I'm going to make a vegetarian quiche with mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, onions, later this week, for breakfast. Everybody loved the brownies and ice cream. I invited the young man renting the basement to join in the evening conversation. He enjoyed it as well, as he is the same age as these young people.
I just finished writing a very long email to the brother and husband's sister of the lady who died.
It's well after midnight here. My guests have just gone to bed, and I am heading there too.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I do love mushrooms. A delicious start to the week. :)

Gma, you are the hostess with the mostest. It sounds like your guests are appreciative, and it was thoughtful of you to include the young tenant.

I have the laundry hung and Germane filled up with dog food and salmon so I can head to bed too. See you later.

I wonder what this week's theme will be? I too love mushrooms! Thank you for an interesting start, Kitty!
I see you're hosting your VBS leader guests now, Gma. WTG getting ready for them.
Sleep well Doggedly!

Today is the day we head off to the mountains. I'll just say - I slept very fitfully last night feeling overly anxious about the hike. We did a small hike to the top of a ridge from a cable car yesterday, and I got tired and had such trouble catching my breath. The altitude was up to 2900 meters. Fortunately, we're not going that high today. I do have the meds but I want to try not to use them unless I'm really struggling.

Dh and I are up. We need to pack up last items in our backpacks, pack up our other travel bags, and get the bnb shipshape and ready to check out by 10:00. Our group is rendezvousing at 10:30 a.m. to start our hike up. Today's is fairly short, kind of a warm up hike.

I don't think I'll be able to post again until Saturday. The huts don't have electrical outlets available for guests, apparently. I might use my phone occasionally for taking photos - but that's it.

Next:
- boil eggs
- back exercises
- tea

Later:
- breakfast
- s2s and self care
- toenails
- change batteries in headlamp
- pack last toiletry items
- pack in-car bags
- get the kitchen ready for us to leave
- figure out where the garbage goes
- load car
- park in car park; figure out how to pay
- 10:30 meet up with dh's large and very social and very friendly family :D
- hike - maybe 2-3 hours?
- late lunch at the hut

Good morning / good night everyone!

Helia, I hope you have a lovely time, that the hikes turn out to be ok for you, and you adjust to the altitude without too much difficulty.

Dogged, WTG on the laundry. Which public holiday is it for you today?

Gma,.you are a very kind,. thoughtful hostess. I'm sure the young people will thoroughly enjoy their stay, and how thoughtful to invite the tenant. BTW, I've sent you a PM.

Laura, you asked about CCTV. CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) is a private video surveillance system used to monitor and record activity for security, crime deterrence, and traffic management. I hope you can.sort the cat situation out, that is very stressful.for.you,. especially wjem the owner. doesn't seem to care.

Has anyone.seen Trissie.recently? Was she going on holiday again and I missed it?

So, Monday. DH has gone to the office and I'm home. The weather.is.set to.get warmer again.(27C today and rising over the next few days) and I really.need to do some.hoisework, especially during the heat of the day, when I prefer to be inside anyway. So, off I go! :D

Good morning/ good afternoon, L Ann and FFB.

L.Ann, you certainly have a full week ahead!

FFB, swimming sounds a good way to get the boys off their screens, and have some fun and exercise. I need to look up the solar eclipse. I remember reading about it some time ago, and then forgot.

Today is warm and sunny. I've done a little admin, and I've experimented with printing texts. I want a "hard copy" folder with all the information compiling about the cat, (texts, observations, events etc) as well as on my phone. So far the best way seems to be taking a screen shot and then printing that (sigh) . The other methods I've tried to follow online just don't work. As usual when following these types of instructions, there's always something missing ( like no dots when I'm.supposed to click on them, or no button to press). Never mind, the housework is calling.me!
