Morning all. I'm up early again. I don't know what to do. Rough night again. If it's not headache this time it was gas pain. I still feel a bit off. Must've been something I ate? Took a couple hours to fall asleep. And then the nerve of that thing. That stray cat has made his way in the house and found us. Getting much too brave. I'm going to have to message them today and tell them if they don't come get him I will call the vet and see if they can shelter him? I can't have him around he's visibly harassing my fixed females now. That's why he likes it here. I'm up and awake and not focusing on anything. Early morning is supposed to be my qt devotional time. I had to get up so dh could sleep.

Off today for civic holiday. BC day or something. Does all of Canada have something to call stat today? Vet is closed. Pharmacy is closed. I don't know what I will feel up to.

My dishwasher is giving me trouble again. Still.... I know. I need to get more determined cleaning off stuff better before I put it in there. We took it apart and made it drain again. Cleaned out what we could get apart. There's one more piece to see if I can get off. I've done 2 cycles of empty with cleaner cycle. Still getting stuff in the sprayers and it seems to be having junk in the top sprayer. The tray is on the counter. My kitchen is a disaster cause I gave up and put food away and supper dishes are everywhere.

On a brighter note... ds and ddil and dgs were here for supper. My lil j is absolutely precious with all his words and just loves running into grammas arms πŸ˜†. Dad came too. Ds16 did really well actually. Made us pulled pork and pasta salad. His dressing was a little off last night too much wine vinegar... but oh well. He was being better social interaction. Participating in conversation and even putting up with lil j. He is very stressed by children. Learning to be comfortable with them. So last night was a great time. Till I laid down after and started feeling bad. Ugh. Dh commented.. he's right... is there ever a time when something isn't bothering me? Too true... do I suck it in and stop complaining?

At least dh managed to get some sleep I think. It's 6 now and he is still in bed. Gonna try again with qt . And decide what to do with my day.

Yay for mushrooms. I try to eat some every-other-day or at least a couple times a week. I always cook them. My favorite is shitake, although hen-of-the-woods (other names are sometimes the ones I see) is so nice and pretty. Come to think of it, I also keep a nutrition shake base that has them in powdered form with other ingredients, Lion's Mane and Reishi, I believe. My dd27 has mushroom coffee each a.m. Her darling Daddy says, "ewww, fungus!" But he will eat shitake if I chop it fine enough and hide within other ingredients and don't remind him. Once, briefly, we could purchase a variety of them, even Lion's Mane, in local places but that day is gone. Now can't even find maitake.

Anyone know how to (purposefully) grow their own favorite mushrooms, have any success with that? I mean, not under the bed - I don't think I could be comfortable with that. :? But maybe outdoors on some socially acceptable log?

helia, thinking of you with concerns about getting winded. Now that you have perhaps acclimated just a little more, maybe it will become easier? Anyway, you are there among those who care about you, not your stamina.

Hi, all. I am up and enjoying my first cup of coffee. Germane has had a good night, using her peepad properly. She has had her heart pill and peanut butter to celebrate, and has taken herself off to the quiet bathroom.

helia, I hope that the hike goes well and that you have fun. It must be the altitude affecting you, considering how long and how regularly you run. We know that you are fit enough!

I think that we just call today "Civic Holiday", Kittykatt, which doesn't have any particular meaning that I know of. We used to call it August Bank Holiday because the banks and government offices closed, so most office workers got the day off. Now they have made it a provincial holiday so that almost everyone gets the day off.
I think that trissie is still on vacation. If my memory is correct, she came back from her trip briefly, and then off again to the cottage.

What are today's adventures for DD33, L.Ann?

Last week before vacation, FrenchFly. I hope that it will be nice and cool in the mountains.
Swimming sounds like the perfect summer activity for the boys.
I remember one of my friends would take one of our locker keys and try to drop it in the deepest part of the deep end, and then we would take turns trying to retrieve it. Until the life guards spotted us and put a stop to it, LOL.

Paperwork is never fun, Kittykatt, and when we insert computers that's a whole new layer of things to go wrong. Nothing wrong with paper files. :)

And that brings me to the end of Page 1. I haven't bought bananas in years but bought a bunch my last shopping trip. And they have all reached that perfect stage of ripeness at the same moment, so I see a peanut butter and banana sandwich in my future.

WTG, Kittykatt.

You must be very resourceful to keep finding these great activities for Little Bit, L.Ann.

Bama's Alaska cruise is in August, kitktat, but I'm not sure when in August.

Quebec doesn't have today off, Lauralind, because they have Fete Nationale off in June. It used to be St-Jean-Baptiste Day, which was based on St. John The Baptist's feast day.
There's nothing wrong with leaving the dishes so that you can enjoy spending time with your visiting dfamily. The dishes will still be there when your dfamily is on their way home.
It's very wearing to have pain all of the time. Don't worry about expressing that here.

I love mushrooms too, harriet, but have never tried to grow them.

Here we technically call it bc day. Nor sure I think bc became a province at this point. I could be wrong.... interesting about Quebec.

Early morning phone call with dd. She is doing so well. I'm glad cause I can't be there till after baby comes. Deciding when we're going to book off to go there . Probably mid September. Then back with ds and ddil and my sister hopefully in Early October for baby shower. Then we'll see. Have to see how the winter weather goes. Not sure we want to travel in extreme cold again.

Made breakfast. Had a bit of a rest and out to pick berries. There's a few more out there just my back was done. My dishwasher still didn't come clean. Somewhere deep in the lines there's junk in there.

Need to do lunch then dh is going to go mow.
