do you have a heatwave again, kittykatt?

We sure do. Trying to decide whether I want to run errands first (increasing the chance of good selection of veggies) or clean first. I had been busy on payroll front and the house is real disaster, but nothing I could not get under control with some effort!

Morning all. Wednesday. Yum watermelon.

Hi trissie. I bet it's probably good for the twins occasionally doing separate activities. Hopefully they all enjoy camp. It definitely frees things up a bit when kids are able to be on their own. Mine just prefers it too much.

Gma I am glad for the fix. Sounds like hosting is going well.

What to do with my day. Basic routines. Some errands and shopping. Check on mom. Hair appointment later. Long overdue. I desperately need a few inches off all over. Too long. I can't even make it look nice anymore it gets stuffed up in a ponytail.

I will do some qt and journal time. Some routines. See if i can make it look better in here again. And then see if I can have time to experiment with ds making homemade progress later.

Morning all! Cold watermelon is my go to snack this time of year, kittykatt. Missed you Trissie, glad that you are back. Hi KitKat. Days with grandkids are definitely busy.

Laura, I thought I would tell you something that I found with vacuums. I have a bagless Dyson that I like and works fine. For Christmas a couple of years ago my daughter gave me a cordless stick Dyson. I was skeptical about it because it is much smaller. What I found though…. At least for me is that with the larger vacuum I only used it once a week. It is harder to get out and put away …. not a lot since it is just a vacuum but I did procrastinate when it came to getting it out. The stick vacuum worked really well and is super easy to get out and use so I use it several times a week. I recently did replace it with a stick Bissell one for pet hair and I like it a lot too. The attachments are super easy to use. I still occasionally use the larger vacuum but not very often. Anyway just my 2 cents.

Any input is welcome on vacuums. I like that lann. Light weight and easy. Im looking at the Dyson pull behind ball. Lots of good attachments I think. I know. I hate vacuuming probably because my old brute is so heavy. It glues itself to my area rug and takes all my strength to move. Wonder if the stick would manage the pet hair? I want to be able to go over hardwood and laminate and carpet and area rug.

What does everyone have for vacuum. Pros and cons?

lauralind, I swear by robotic vacuums - would that work for you?
now you make me crave cold watermelons, L.Ann! :-)

So... DBD dumped all her legos on the floor of her room before leaving. Previously, they were sorted by color in separate boxes. That is going to take some time to achieve again!

Does she like them sorted that way trissie? Maybe good practice her sorting out colors again. Ignore if that won't work lol...

Hmmm interesting concept. Do robotics deal with pet hair? And go over flooring transitions?

Hi, all. I'm just going to jump in here. Yesterday was a bad day for Germane. Irregularity and senility swooped in together, so there was a lot of cleaning. Last night I wouldn't say that she peed more often than usual, but since she scrupulously avoided her pee pads I was up longer and left more awake every time I got up to go to the bathroom. Today she seems a lot better, using her pee pads again.

Well... since we have about gazillion sets, having the pieces sorted by color is the only to ever find a specific piece (still takes time, but one heap - absolutely impossible). I would have her do it if she were home (well I'd have her participate on it), but I want to use the opportunity to declutter and reorganize her room while she's gone, and I kinda need to be able to walk on the floor to do that. So, I am out of luck :-)
She's unfortunately really bad about putting things away once she's done with them. So are the twins, and to retrain them would require months and months of consistently fighting them every day over every single item being put away, and life's too short for that!

The stick vacuums both the Dyson and bissell work well on pet hair, Laura. I only have one dog but it is a golden who avoids brushing like it’s his main job.
