I am back after adventures in dishwashing. I washed dishes; dishes were washed. The skies have opened, so my balcony, the parking lot and my world in general is also getting washed.

Ah, excellent strategizing, kitkat: strip the bed before you exercise so that you can't be tempted to fall into it after your workout.
I am of the opinion that arugula belongs on everything.

I am going mid-September, trissie. I always try to travel outside of the main tourist times, and when the sun won't be heating up the car dangerously for Germane when I have to run into the fast food place to go to the bathroom. Even still, I often taken aback at how full up the hotels are at these odd times.

Germane and I benefitted from summer and had a nice outing to the park with the duck pond. I don't feel terribly productive today. I might concentrate on summer goals. I don't think that the table and chairs got wet in the rain, so I might sit outside and read. But first I have to take another look at my monitor. It has been giving indications that it might die soon, turning a lovely soft shade of pink and lavender, but now there's no image at all. I'll reseat cables, etc. I did check that the output from both computers is missing, so not a software problem.

Only once did I try a starfruit, and I didn't like it. Maybe it wasn't ripe enough? When I read that it is high in oxalic acid, that explains what I found to be bitter taste. Never wanted to try it again.
I'm 1500 steps short of my goal for the day. It's reasonable outside, but it's also well after 11pm, and I'm tired.

Concern for the day: Dson special dog (name is Imp, which has always suited her!) had sudden onset of pancreatitis yesterday.They took her to emergency vet, she is being given pain pills because pancreatitis is very painful. She doesn't want to eat anything (pancreas is needed for digestion, and it needs rest to heal.) She is drinking water which is a good sign. This can be deadly, or it can be recoverable.

Met a neighbor in the parking lot of grocery store today - she invited me to a play being done at her church last night, tonight, and tomorrow. It sounded interesting, and as I will be gone tomorrow, I went tonight.
Title: Come from Away. Authors David Hein and Irene Sankoff. Apparently a book, + music and lyrics for a stage play, about the experiences of the people impacted by the 9/11 attack in the US. Thousands of people were on planes that were diverted to the town of Gander, Newfoundland. The town provided hospitality; this is the story of both the people from the plane and from the town. The acting was superb, as was the singing and dancing. The story was fascinating.
My day was rather unproductive:
2 lol after the young people have left. Not folded.
used up the last 1/4 pound of hamburger they left, plus ate a tomato from my garden.
took in the mail; put it in the recycle bin.
Short visit with dson, who used his air compressor to blow up a plastic walker for 80th birthday party tomorrow
went to the play.
played a few games on my phone.
Left to do before bed - while 2nd lol is washing -
wrap funny gift for dcousin whose 80 birthday party is tomorrow.
sign the funny card - one for me, one "from my mom" because his joke gift is a box of her leftover incontinence products which his wife can bring to the thrift store she manages. And I have a full bag of more to give her as well!
after wrapping is done, I'll do a little crocheting, until the washer is done, then go to bed, and let the dryer do its work.
As the party is 2+ hours away, I will have to miss church.
I think I have a piece of egg bake left from the kids, so I will eat that up for breakfast. If not, I have banana and cereal.

My thoughts about the day/ week:
When at my mother's house, I can well remember being a child and being taken care of. Also when I am here, I am taking care of my mother, because she loved this house so, and I am acting in her place. Or, is her spirit here taking care of me??? I bought a color book for myself yesterday - of Winnie-the-Pooh - who was not my favorite when I was a child, but he is my favorite now, and this will be a fun diversion. I need to buy a box of 64 crayons! if they still make those.
When I am at my house I have to be an adult all the time, because it's my grown up house, where I took care of my dh, raised my son, and where I need to figure out who I am now that I have no one dependent on my care.
